Chapter 23-3
Not A Small-Town Girl
Chapter 23-3
Loganâs face turned serious. "Are you questioning my future granddaughter-in-lawâs skills?"
Savannah quickly backtracked. "No, of course not. Iâm just concerned about your recovery. After all, sheâs not part of our hospital staff," she said, feigning a hurt tone.
But as she looked at Danielle, her resentment deepened. âWhy does everyone side with this bitch? Ethan even let her into the operating room that day!â she thought bitterly.
"Nathan, is the discharge paperwork ready?" David asked coolly, cutting through the tension.
"Yes," Nathan replied respectfully. "Everythingâs set. Logan is cleared to leave."
Savannahâs eyes narrowed. "Mr. Charrington, your grandfather just had surgery. Itâs better if he stays for observation a little longer," she said, trying to maintain a professional front.
Logan, now visibly annoyed, retorted, "My grandson and future granddaughter-in-law have already approved my discharge. Why are you trying to argue?"
Faced with Loganâs sharp tone, Savannah clammed up, though her eyes flashed with jealousy and hostility toward Danielle.
Danielle sighed internally, âWhatâs her problem? She caused a scene during surgery, and now, sheâs at it again.â
"Logan, letâs get going," Danielle said gently, stepping forward to help him. She didnât want him getting worked up over Savannahâs attitude.
Loganâs mood instantly lifted as he smiled at Danielle. "Alright, letâs go."
The group left the room together, leaving Savannah behind. She stood there, fuming. Her frustration bubbled over as she stomped her foot.
