Chapter 140-2
Not A Small-Town Girl
âShe is indeed after Mr. Darling, but sheâs the first one who dares to stop his car. If I hadnât been a good driver, she would have been dead by now, the driver thought.
"Iâm sorry. Mr. Darling is very busy and doesnât have time to meet you," the driver said.
"No time? Youâre wasting my time. If you hadnât stopped me, I would have done it now." Ruby finished speaking and quickly opened the car door and sat in. It took less than a minute.
The driver was dumbfounded.
Joseph was originally taking a nap. Suddenly, Ruby got into the car. The door slammed shut.
"Wake up." Ruby reached out and pushed Joseph.
Joseph was woken up, his face darkened.
"Iâm really sorry! You were too hard to meet, so I had to do it. Itâs a little abrupt," seeing his displeasure, Ruby said with a brave face. Joseph then turned his attention to her face. His breath hitched, but he quickly suppressed his emotion. "Whatâs the matter?" he asked.
"Can we find a place to talk?" Rubyâs palms were sweating. She was afraid that if she finished speaking, he would strangle her to death!
Joseph glanced at Ruby expressionlessly.
In Darling Group CEOâs office.
"Out with it," Joseph said, his face cold. His legs crossed as he sat in his executive chair.
"I think I should introduce myself. Iâm Ruby Dixon. Iâm here to explain what happened at the banquet." Ruby clenched her fists as if to give herself courage.
Josephâs gaze swept over her, his eyes sharp. "And?" he asked.
âAnd? And I saved you but you didnât know! Itâs because of you that Emily and Sienna are after me madly!â Ruby thought.
"Mr. Darling, it was all my fault that year. I was attracted to you and wanted to win your love! At that time, I drugged you and waited for you in the hallway.
"In the end, I got what I wanted. But it wasnât that great. Then I thought, what if you wake up and donât let me go? What if you make me take responsibility? In a panic, I called Sienna and threatened her to come. In fact, Sienna was the most innocent party in all of this. I was a truly evil one. Iâm so sorry. I sullied your innocence. Please donât misunderstand Sienna."
Ruby finished speaking and bowed deeply to Joseph.
Joseph was angry. âWhat did she mean by being attracted to me? What did she mean that it wasnât that great? She left without a word, and now sheâs back talking nonsense,â he thought.
Joseph pursed his lips tightly, his face cold, with a chill that made one tremble. "What do you mean?"
