Chapter 44-1
Not A Small-Town Girl
Chapter 44
"Elliot, do you like the Black Rose that much?" Danielle asked.
Elliot nodded vigorously. The Black Rose wasnât just something he liked; itâs something he dreamed of owning.
"Kit, go to the armory and fetch me six Black Roses," Danielle ordered.
Elliot asked, "Danielle, who taught you how to make weapons?" He was shocked by how much Danielle knew given her age.
Danielle thought for a moment and said, "I taught myself the skill of making weapons."
David looked at Danielle lovingly. As expected, his girlfriend was outstanding.
Elliot thought, âDanielle and I share the same genes. Why am I not as talented as her?â Kit came back with six wooden boxes and placed them in front of Danielle. He respectfully said, "Shadow, the guns are in the boxes."
Danielle distributed the boxes to Elliot, Maximus, Justin, Luke, and Lydia. She passed the last box to David.
They were stunned as they stared at the wooden boxes in their hands.
Danielle actually gave each of them a Black Rose as though it was some commonly available door gift.
Elliot said, "Danielle, we canât accept this. Itâs too precious. Besides, we canât own guns without authorization." He wanted to give the wooden box back to Danielle.
"Thatâs right. We canât take this. We have to abide by the armyâs rules," said Maximus as he stared intensely at the wooden box. He couldnât bear to part with it, but he knew he had to return this to Danielle.
Lydia chimed in and said, "Danielle, thank you for your gift, but I canât keep it." The Black Rose was a valuable weapon that even the richest were dying to get their hands on. Its value far surpassed that of money.
Justin and Luke also wanted to return the guns to Danielle.
Danielle had just saved them from the besiegement of Jacksonâs men. She had also sent out her men to help rescue the hostages. Elliot and his friends felt shameless for accepting such precious gifts after all that Danielle had done for them.
"Danielle, this is the first gift youâve given me. Iâll treasure it," said David as he held the gift lovingly.
Danielle looked at David and smiled. "Iâm glad you like it."
Everyone else present rolled their eyes at how lovey-dovey Danielle and David were.
Danielle said, "Elliot, keep the gun. The Black Rose is not anything special here at my fortress. Consider it a trinket to add to your personal collection. Also,
