Chapter 678: Chapter 672: Preparation

Based on the star map presented by Luna Starfield, the territories of these mercenary associations are roughly 3,000 to 5,000 light-years away. For their large warships, such a distance might be covered in one warp jump, but the cooling time for the warp engine would be as long as ten days after such a jump.

During this lengthy span, the enemy would have already fled. Thus, they couldn’t possibly warp directly here in one go. However, to expedite travel, it is possible to conduct an ultra-long-distance warp jump with energy blocks filled up in advance.

Finn Lewis decided to simply stay inside the bridge, and Yuka Young, having nowhere else to go, was confined here by Lewis. Under the watchful eyes of two robots, she stopped resisting and would eat and drink what was provided, going to the bathroom when necessary. Every day, she just silently observed Finn, clearly attempting to see his true strength.

Or perhaps she was intimidated by Finn’s resources. If her master couldn’t deal with Finn, he guessed that she would choose to leave an escape route for herself. Of course, if she wasn’t willing to leave herself that room for survival, Finn wouldn’t mind eliminating her directly.

“Your Highness, our trajectory has been discovered by the enemy,” Luna Starfield alerted Finn, who was in sleep.

“What’s the matter?” Finn asked immediately, fully awake. “We have been circling nearby starfields the whole time. However, the intercepting fleets left by the two pirate groups began to surround us. They spread out searching for us in this starfield. I can’t determine the position of every ship, and our trace has been discovered just now.”

Finn’s eyebrows immediately furrowed. Although the enemy had previously tracked their location from their warp trajectory, it is entirely different from having their traces found. They are two separate concepts. Once the enemy determines their exact location, they can surround them from all directions.

As they only have one spaceship, if the opponent’s fleets warp in succession, their warp engine definitely cannot warp speedily for the next time.

“How much time left before our appointment with Caleb Shaw?” Finn asked, his eyebrows furrowing deeper, speaking to Luna Starfield.

“Although I don’t know much about this family, I think there’s no harm in being cautious. With all the commotion we’ve been causing, the Wren Clan must be aware, right? If they know, betraying you behind your back by eliminating you directly would mean the 200 billion star credits you paid would go to waste, and your fleet wouldn’t even have to be delivered to you. They could just sell it,” Jasmine Davis stated coldly.

“It makes sense, but the likelihood is small.” Luna Starfield voiced out her opinion when Finn’s face stiffened.

“What’s the reason?” Jasmine Davis inquired abruptly.

“From the data that I’ve collected about the Wren Clan, they have extremely high credibility. They wouldn’t do something that would betray their reputation. If they wanted to plot against His Highness, they wouldn’t have to go to such lengths. They should have traded with others a long time ago. That way, they could still make a fortune,” Luna Starfield explained concisely.

“How could you know they didn’t do that? You’re just a personal intelligence robot,” Jasmine Davis shot back bluntly.

“I just know. Although I can’t provide you with the evidence, the possibility of them doing so will not exceed 1 percent,” Luna Starfield responded firmly.

Finn hesitated for a moment, then gritted his teeth and said, “Let’s trust them this time.”

Jasmine Davis stared intently at Finn for a long while before finally saying, “You know it’s not just your life at stake, but also ours.”

“We’ll die anyway if we don’t trust them,” Finn retorted firmly.

Jasmine Davis stayed silent for a moment. She knew that Finn was telling the truth. They were out of options. After a long silent, Jasmine Davis said to Finn, “I hope you know what you’re doing. Remember, if we die, it won’t just be you. You’d have caused the death of hundreds of thousands of people.”

Finn still decided to trust Luna Starfield’s judgement, given her exceptional performance thus far. Since Starfield said they could trust the Wren Clan, then they should. As far as Finn was concerned, this was the only choice without any options. After all, he was the one least afraid of troubles.
