“Listen to my instructions now. I’m going to test the energy block and cut off the ship’s main engine in a minute. Do you understand?” that Davis said.

“Understood”

“All hands, all hands, we are about to conduct a test of the spacecraft’s energy block. In one minute, the main engine will be cut off.” The voice of the Flying Squirrel echoed through the speaker in the cabin.

“We’ll see if this will work,” Davis said to Finn Lewis, and then he turned back to the controls. A minute passed quickly.

“Countdown 3 seconds, I’m cutting off the main engine.” The Flying Squirrel’s voice came through the communicator.

“3, 2, 1.” With the voice of Flying Squirrel, a humming sound was heard, and the power source of the spaceship was cut off. The countless green buttons in the cabin where Finn Lewis was located turned red.

“Switch the primary propulsion to the backup power output,” Davis commanded, pressing a button.

“Understood. Switching in three, two, one.” As the Flying Squirrel’s voice echoed, a dull noise sounded. The lights in the cabin flickered several times, then returned to full brightness.

“Eh, not bad.” Davis surprisingly nodded, then picked up his communicator without hesitation: “Now using the backup power output, is the energy percentage visible?”

“It’s visible. The backup energy is currently at 100 percent,” said Flying Squirrel.

“Good, now use the backup energy as the propulsion, and start the flight engine,” Davis told him.

“It is currently at ninety-nine percent. Less than one percent was used.”

“So, that means we only used slightly less than one percent. Give me an exact number,” Davis demanded.

“I’ve shared the exact data with you, you can check it on the terminal system.”
