Chapter 661: Chapter 655 Energy Crisis (Part 1)
âYou can leave now.â The tasks of these simulated humans were completed, Finn Lewis gestured dismissively, dismissing them. Once they had left, Finn eyed the woman. Her beauty was undeniable, almost dangerously attractive.
âI have important matters to deal with next. Iâll leave you some money, so feel free to make your life here.â Finn proposed after some thought.
Upon hearing this, the woman, who seemed on edge standing there, quickly shook her head in terror, âI, I dare not. I want to... I want to stay with you, my lord.â
âMy lord, she was captured from a primitive planet. She wonât be able to survive in the Capital Star region on her own. If she stays here, itâs likely sheâll be taken, and her fate thereafter would be desperate.â Dunn Monty, standing beside Finn Lewis, couldnât help but intervene.
âAre you saying she, like me, is an indigenous inhabitant of a primitive planet?â Finn pointed at the woman, asking.
âYes, my lord. She too carries human DNA. But, the unique environment of her homeworld seems to have mutated part of her genes. Nonetheless, she is no less physically robust â robust enough to be a qualified warrior. But within the Galactic Federation, she is viewed as an inhabitant of a primitive planet, a non-federated citizen. Anyone with a tiny bit of power can capture her and turn her into a slave.â Dunn Monty affirmed, a nod accompanying his words.
âAlright then.â Finn found himself with a growing distaste for the Galactic Federation. Despite its advanced technology, its systems were callous and cold, especially in their treatment of inhabitants from primitive planets, not to mention the horrifyingly cruel practice of exploiting life essences.
Even though the Federation had banned this practice, it still continued covertly across the entirety of the Heritage System. If not, from where else could the life essences used by the royal family, who ruled the Federation, come from?
Finn had just upset a man here. He didnât even know who this manâs family was. Any trouble they could have created in the expanse of space was most definitely not something Finn wanted to deal with.
But with the intervention of the inspectorâs office, no trouble arose for Finn. Soon, he arrived on Redglow Star. Named for its atmospheric hue, Redglow Star was clouded with a unique rare gas element. This gas was harmless to the human body but had some effect on those not native to the planet.
While these effects werenât fatal, their lingering feeling could be negated with a special medication. The gas caused the atmosphere of the star to glow a gentle red under solar radiation. Much like how the sky appeared blue on Earth, the sky here had a reddish tinge, hence the name Redglow Star.
This left Finn contemplating briefly. Redglow Star was smaller than the Earth and had around 1.5 times the gravity. With his physically robust body, he had no problem coping with this. Though, he felt a bit uncomfortable.
Finn didnât stay long on Redglow Star. After about half a day, a run-down small ship docked at the port. The ship was a trader vessel. But, aboard the ship, Finn found someone he didnât anticipate to see, Jasmine Davis!
Truth be told, seeing Finn made Jasmine a bit uncomfortable. His imposing aura that day was overwhelming. And then, of course, was the formidable wealth he held, single-handedly suppressing the Yingsha and three other pirate groups.
But how much money would that take?
However, the first sentence he uttered upon seeing Jasmine dissipated much of her unease. âOh, wow! Youâre here in person! What an honor. I thought youâd just send someone over to get me.â Finn said, smiling.
Once Jasmine realized Finn wasnât adopting a nobleâs attitude, her unease vanished. She quickly retorted: âOh, please. If I didnât come to get you, Iâd be worried about my crew bullying you. Then youâd come crying to me, and I donât do babysitting, you know.â
