Chapter 637: Chapter 631: Almost Fainted
âHow ridiculously extravagant this is!â Emilyâs room-mate exclaimed, astonished and with her mouth wide open.
âSo, how much in total?â Finn Lewis asked without waiting for an answer.
Although there are many types of clothing materials throughout the federation, it is no different than on Earth where the raw materials for these clothes are naturally quite cheap. The price a general supplier can offer and what a luxury merchant can fetch are two completely different stories.
And for clothing, itâs not just for the rich, commoners wear clothes too, so the raw materials arenât going to be too expensive. Even the best of materials would only cost a bit more, but thereâs a limit to how expensive it can get.
âJust give me 30,000 star credits.â Emily said somewhat sheepishly. As for the girl beside her, she almost cried out, âMy god, youâre such a crook!â.
Nonetheless, she held back her words, eyes wide open, waiting to see how Finn would react. Naturally, Finn had no special reaction. He simply responded, âNo problem. But, youâll cover the shipping costs, right?â
With a slightly mischievous smile, Finn agreed to the proposed amount without any hesitation. Given how easy money comes by for him, heâs not bothered. However, that doesnât mean heâs unaware of the true value of these items. Emily is clearly trying to rip him off. But since she claimed delivery throughout the entire galaxy, he wouldnât leave this star system.
âAh, no need for that. We will handle the delivery costs,â Emily backed down a little, slightly embarrassed. Finn never objected, from start to finish, he took her word on the price.
âWell then, since thatâs settled,â Finn replied with a broad smile.
âSo, how do you plan on delivering there, sis?â The roommate asked, unable to hold back any longer, âYouâre not going to get your brother to help, right?â
âAbsolutely not. Besides, he probably doesnât even know where that place is,â Emily huffed, answering quickly, âI have my means.â
âNo problem, sir. I can get it to you at any location within two days,â Emily hurriedly responded to Finn, before adding, âCome on, get up and help me. Itâs not easy to design these clothes,â she then pulled her roommate out of the bed.
Finn Lewis laughed at her response; he was curious to see how she intended to deliver the goods. Although the Death Nest has access to the federationâs network, establishing contact with other star regions in the federation was difficult because this Death Nest happened to be on the inspectorateâs watchlist, forbidding any trade transactions.
So, even though there are many people here, establishing contact with the federation isnât easy. Of course, whatâs forbidden is only nominally so â nothing is absolute in this world. Some ships can still reach here. Despite the inspectorateâs ban, they turn a blind eye because of their limited resources and inability to monitor on a large scale.
As long as there isnât massive, overt activity, itâs fine. What Finn Lewis didnât know, however, is that a contract that shook the entire mercenary world was posted on a famous mercenary website. Although this website, known as the Mercenary Association, was very organized, it also held a great deal of clout.
This place is an ideal channel for mercenary groups and mercenaries. All sorts of missions can be found here, but a mission like this had never appeared before â a 5000 star credits job, not a small figure, but not a large one either, especially for those large mercenary groups, it was a small amount.
But it was still star credits! You had to consider the task not only in terms of the price, but also the profit margin and difficulty of completion. Would you hire a band of mercenaries for such a task?
âHire a mercenary group, with a timeframe until noon tomorrow, to deliver a piece of clothing to the address listed in the Death Nest.â This was the entire content of the contract. Everyone was flabbergasted. âWhat could be so valuable about a piece of clothing?â they wondered. âIs it an antique?â
Upon reading the detailed instructions for the task, and finding out the inside story, everyone was staggered. âThe gap between people in this world... itâs just so huge, isnât it?â they exclaimed. This task was commissioned by someone from the Death Star who had ordered a piece of clothing online, and now required its delivery.
