Chapter 611: Chapter 605: Donât Take it Out Anymore
Jasmine Davis opened her mouth, instantly feeling somewhat annoyed. Although these words were just uttered by her, them coming out of her mouth did not mean she was that kind of person. Couldnât they all tell that she was joking? With Finn Lewis voicing it out, she was unsure of how to refute his words.
After all, and perhaps unhappily, the words were of her own design, and seemed to ring true.
âI approached you for help based on our friendship, but 50,000 star credits? Are you making outrageous demands? Do you understand how many mercenary squads 50,000 star credits can hire to escort the royal family member to the vicinity of the Milky Way star sector?â Dunn Monty suddenly interjected.
Finn glanced at Monty. While the two have been at odds, Finn knew Monty was trying to diffuse the situation for Jasmine. Otherwise, she would have been unable to respond to his outrageous statement. Although her embarrassment has been shifted, it was diminished.
âThen why didnât you hire them?â Jasmine retorted, raising her eyebrows at Monty and then turning back to Finn, âMinimum 30,000.â
âDonât even think about it, 10,000. If you agree, you can take it right now,â Monty said, waving a stack of star credits in front of Jasmine.
âYou-â, Jasmine arose from her seat abruptly.
âWait,â Finn interrupted, calling a halt to the two straining against each other. He had no intention of causing trouble for Jasmine. Even though she was a pirate, destroying Earth wouldnât be a difficult task for her. Even under the protection of the regulatory agency, no fleet was stationed near Earth.
If she really wanted to cause damage, she could easily destroy Earth. All she would have to do is hurl a few asteroids at it. Finn was sure she had the capability to do this.
âWhy donât we sit down, have a cup of tea? Is there tea here?â Finn suggested, glancing at all the parties involved.
âI said I can give you 500,000 star credits.â Finn looked at her casually, then repeated the sentence softly.
â500,000, are you sure?â Jasmineâs face was full of surprise. Although Finn had constantly stated that he is rich, this was an outright absurdity.
âIâm sure.â Finn nodded.
âWhat are your conditions?â She glanced seriously at Finn.
âNo conditions, just get me to the Milky Way star sector,â Finn responded, shrugging.
âI donât believe it.â Jasmine projected a wary look and remarked, â500,000 star credits for a simple request? Monty was right about the 10,000 star credits. I was ready to agree to it because I knew he was right. Even a few thousand star credits would draw many mercenary groups to carry Finn to the Milky Way star sector.â
Now, Finn had raised the initial price fiftyfold, shocking Jasmine. This huge number, 500,000 star credits, was not a small figure. It was enough for her to buy a brand new interstellar battleship and fill it with all the ammunition it needed.
âI really donât have any conditions. â Finn looked at her and smiled.
âYour asking price is unreasonable.â Jasmine shook her head.
âIs it a crime to give you money to spend?â Finn was somewhat lost for words.
âI still donât believe it.â
âAlright, just think that Iâm smitten with you, alright?â Finn shrugged, finishing his tea.
