A Big Shot's Woman Is Wild and Fierce
Wen Xin and Mu Chengxi walked into Old Madam Muâs courtyard, and Wei Manqing, hearing the sound of the gate opening, ran out of her room. Seeing Wen Xin and Mu Chengxi return safely, she felt a sudden tingling in her nose and was overwhelmed with a desire to cry.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Mu Chengxi, holding Wen Xinâs hand, approached Wei Manqing just as Mu Jinyan was conveniently coming out of Old Madamâs room with Wei Manqingâs coat.
Mu Jinyan walked over to Wei Manqing, draped the coat over her shoulders, and hugged her gently, soothing her in a calm voice, âItâs alright, donât cry. Havenât the kids come back safely?â
âItâs just that I was worried. With such a sudden incident, who wouldnât be? Xin girl, let mom check if you are hurt!â
Wei Manqing pulled away from Mu Jinyanâs embrace and walked over to Wen Xin, examining her up and down as she held her hand, wanting to check if Wen Xin was injured.
Wen Xin was shocked by Wei Manqingâs use of âmomâ and was unsure how to respond or how to address Wei Manqing.
Seeing Wen Xinâs dazed expression, Wei Manqing grew even more anxious. She thought Wen Xin was scared by todayâs events and, feeling pity, hugged her and gently patted her back.
âDonât be afraid. No matter what happens, donât be scared. You have Chengxi, you have us, and you have the Mu family. Rest assured, we will all protect you well. Donât be scared!â
Wei Manqingâs tone was gentle and tender; she truly loved Wen Xin as her own daughter.
Standing by, Mu Chengxi, seeing how Wei Manqing cared for Wen Xin, stepped forward and gently tugged on Wei Manqingâs arm, reminding her, âMom, youâre scaring her.â
Upon hearing Mu Chengxiâs words, Wei Manqing realized she might have been too emotional and let go of Wen Xin, smiling gently at her.
âIâm sorry if I was too emotional. Did I scare you?â
âNo.â
Wen Xin looked at Wei Manqing, who was being extremely careful, and smiled tenderly. She reached out and held Wei Manqingâs hand, speaking gently.
âYou didnât scare me. Itâs just that Iâve never experienced a motherâs care before. I was just a bit bewildered. I am not hurt; everything is fine. You donât have to worry.â
âThatâs good, thatâs good. Your arm hasnât healed yet, and then this incident happened. How could I not be worried? Alright, letâs go inside. Your grandma is waiting for you.â
With her gaze soft, Wei Manqing felt tremendously relieved to know Wen Xin was unharmed. She carefully let go of Wen Xinâs arm, not daring to pull too hard.
âYou still need to take care of your arm. Come on, letâs go inside and see your grandma.â
Wei Manqing glanced at Mu Chengxi and signaled for him to take Wen Xin inside, feeling momentarily unsure of where to touch Wen Xin without hurting her.
Mu Chengxi, noticing his motherâs awkwardness, flashed a gentle smile and stepped forward, wrapping his arm around Wen Xin as they walked towards Old Madamâs room.
As Mu Chengxi and Wen Xin entered the room, Old Madam Mu suddenly stood up from her chair, her tone anxious as she spoke to Wen Xin and Mu Chengxi, âQuick, quick, come in. Let me see if youâre hurtâ¦â
Mu Chengxi let go of Wen Xin and gently pushed on her waist, urging her to go first.
Wen Xin knew that Mu Chengxi wanted to hide the injury on his hand. She stepped forward, held Old Madam Muâs arm, and helped her sit down on the chair.
âThese past few days have worried Grandma. We are all fine, nothingâs wrong!â
Wen Xin sat down beside Old Madam Mu, following her movements, and looked very well-behaved.
Old Madam Mu turned to look at Wen Xin, sizing her up several times, and only relaxed when she was sure Wen Xin was unharmed.
âItâs good that youâre fine, itâs good. Grandma just wanted to settle your matters but didnât expect such a thing to happen. It might also be my negligence, not having arranged the security properly, which gave others the opportunity to take advantage.â
Looking at Wen Xin, Old Madam Muâs face was full of guilt. She felt it was her fault for not managing the banquet well, which led to many problems.
Listening to Old Madam Mu blaming herself, Wen Xin hugged her shoulders and gently rubbed her cheek against Old Madam Muâs.
âGrandma, this has nothing to do with you. Itâs our own trouble that we stirred up; you shouldnât worry about us.â
âBut now the trouble is already resolved. You can rest assured, Grandma, Iâm safely back now.â
While talking to Old Madam Mu, Wen Xin placed her fingers on Old Madam Muâs wrist to check on her health, only relaxing when she was sure Old Madam Mu was alright.
Old Madam Mu, seeing Wen Xin trying to please her, raised her hand and gently patted Wen Xinâs shoulder.
âAlright, you are the most considerate girl. Now that you are back safely, Grandma is relieved. Iâve asked the kitchen to prepare pigâs feet noodles for you. After eating, go rest well. We can talk more tomorrow!â
Old Madam Muâs gaze was filled with affection when she looked at Wen Xin. She thought to herself that she must spoil Wen Xin, such an adorable girl, to the skies.
Standing aside, Mu Chengxi watched the interaction between Wen Xin and Old Madam Mu and felt inexplicably reassured, as if such a life is what he looked forward to in the future.
Early the next morning, before Wen Xin and Mu Chengxi were fully awake, they heard a noisy chattering outside. Mu Chengxi irritably covered his head with the blanket, at the same time pulling Wen Xin into his embrace.
Just at that moment, Wen Xinâs phone suddenly rang. Wen Xin gently nudged Mu Chengxiâs shoulder, signaling for him to let her go so she could answer the phone.
Still irritated, Mu Chengxi threw off the blanket and looked at Wen Xin, who was still patting his shoulder, somewhat reluctantly.
âIâm not even awake yet,â Mu Chengxi said in a hoarse, somewhat lazy tone, which sounded somewhat tempting to Wen Xin.
At this point, Wen Xin completely ignored the vibrating phone behind her. She held Mu Chengxiâs cheeks in her hands, slowly leaned in, and softly pressed her lips against his.
As their lips met, Mu Chengxi embraced Wen Xin tightly, and what happened next was beyond their controlâ¦
In the living room, Liang Luoyu looked at Mu Dong preparing breakfast and raised an eyebrow, âMaster Xi has always had a regular schedule. When did he start indulging himself like this?â
Hearing Liang Luoyuâs remark, Mu Bei placed the items in his hands on the seat and smiled faintly at Liang Luoyu, âI dare not say much, but ever since Master Xi met Miss Wen, what seemed impossible has become possible. Youâll find out more in the future.â
