Chapter 976 My Man
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
The performance of race cars was what mattered, not their appearance.
âWow, Bert! This is awesome.â Ysabelle was excited when she saw the race car because it looked
extremely cool.
Her eyes sparkled with admiration as she said, âIt must be really cool to drive this car. Can I try?â
Hearing that, Felix pulled her back to his side.
âThis car looks good on the outside, but itâs not something you can drive,â he pointed out. It was not an
ordinary race car; one careless mistake could cause a terrible accident.
A sense of letdown settled upon Ysabelle.
âWhy is it that Sophie can do anything but I canât?â she groaned.
âWho says you canât? You can. You sing very well!â Felix affirmed. Sheâs already one of the most
popular female singers. Isnât that enough? Every person has their own strengths; we just have to do
what weâre good at.
âReally? Am I that impressive to you?â Ysabelle asked hesitantly, unconvinced by his words.
âYes. To me, youâre the most dazzling person in the world. Iâm telling you the truth; the whole truth, and
nothing but the truth,â Felix continued with his flattery. He was even willing to call her an angel as long
as she did not do those dangerous things.
âAll right!â
Since Felix had already put it that way, it was only right for Ysabelle to believe him. Besides, there was
nothing she could do about it if he were lying.
Ysabelle knew very well that she was not as capable as Sophie.
Meanwhile, Sophie opened the race car door and climbed in to experience what it felt like inside. The
race car was incredible-appearance and performance-wise.
Moreover, it was coated in the glamorous red color she liked. She was sure it would feel great to drive
a car like that.
âWhat do you think? Do you like it?â asked Tristan. He had never used the car ever since he bought it.
Sophie bobbed her head in response.
âI like it. Looks like youâve always had a great sense of taste.â She truly liked the car.
âIf you like it, you can have it.â
The offer rendered Sophic speechless.
It sounded surreal that Tristan was giving her the car. However, she soon nodded because she really
liked the vehicle.
Just then, Lily walked over, only to develop jealousy for Sophie when she caught sight of the race car.
The way Tristan treated Sophie drew envy from others.
The look on Lilyâs face gave Ysabelle the urge to provoke the former. âMs. Sanders, why are you here?
The eventâs not starting until an hour later. What do you think about this race car? I wonder if itâs
suitable for this track.â
The smile on Lilyâs lips stiffened. Ysabelleâs doing this on purpose, isnât she?
âIsnât it obvious? Mr. Tristanâs things are always the best,â she said. Surely thereâs no need to make it
so clear?
âTrue. My uncleâs things are always the best, but he still cherishes Sophie the most.â
Lily was left baffled.
Ugh. I shouldnât have come here before the competition starts. Iâm only asking for trouble.
âMr. Tristan, Iâve asked someone to prepare some food. You should have some.â Lily actually
personally delivered the food just to have a glimpse of Tristan.
âLeave it there. Iâm not free to eat now,â Tristan uttered indifferently without even looking at what she
had prepared.
âOh, okay.â
Lily dared not pester him in front of so many people. Thus, she placed the food down and left.
Intrigued, Sophie peered at the food Lily had prepared. They were all food that Tristan liked; it seemed
like Lily was serious about him.
âWhy donât you have some? Ms. Sanders has already prepared them, anyway,â Sophie suggested. She
was not a petty person, after all.
Tristan was not attracted to Lily, so it was pointless no matter how hard the latter tried.
âI donât feel like eating.â
He wasnât hungry, and the thought that the food was prepared by Lily made him lose his appetite.
âWhatâs this? Why are you behaving this way? I never said anything to stop you from eating it.â
âBut I want you to. Sophie, youâll soon be married to me. Arenât you jealous that another womanâs
treating me well so brazenly?â Tristanâs tone was laced with disappointment.
His reaction amused her so much that she almost burst out laughing.
âI am mad! Of course, I am! Donât worry. Iâll win both the race and the fight as a reminder for her to
never mess with my man.â
âMy manâ¦â Tristan repeated.
He loved that phrase. Thatâs right. Iâm Sophieâs man!
Since both Tristan and Sophie refused to touch the food Lily brought, Bertram quickly ordered
something else
When the food arrived, Tristan carried Sophie out of the race car.
âEat something. Thereâs still an hour until the race starts Besides, youâve already won the first round.
You can just have fun in the race,â he said.
âYeah, I know,â Sophie responded, aware of the current state of affairs. There would not be any
problems for her
While Felix and Ysabelle were eating, Ysabelle saw the couple coming their way and quickly shifted to
make room for them.
âThe food Bert prepared is delicious. You should eat more so youâll have more energy in the afternoon,
Sophie.â
âAll right.â
They had some fruit after lunch, and soon, Sophie was feeling sleepy. The weather tended to make
people feel drowsy.
It was almost time for the race. Since there would not be enough time to go home and come back,
Sophie decided to lean on Tristanâs shoulder to take a nap.
The sun was shining rather brightly that day, so Tristan requested a towel which he used to wipe off her
sweat whenever needed. He was absolutely attentive to her needs.
The entire scene moved Ysabelle to the core. How can a man so amazing exist in this world? I mean,
heâs even willing to go to such lengths to take care of her!
âUncle Tristanâs so patient. Back then, I really thought heâd be single forever. Who wouldâve thought
heâd meet Sophie? He treats her like sheâs the most precious thing on earth,â she remarked.
A deep-seated sense of threat flooded Felixâs heart, even though the man Ysabelle praised was her
uncle. He placed his hands on her shoulder and asked, âI treat you well, too, donât I? I love you,
Ysabelle.â
Ysabelleâs heart melted as she shifted her gaze to Felix.
âOf course, you treat me well, too. Why do you think I chose you when I had so many pursuers?â
Felix let out a hum of acknowledgment. âRemember, Ysabelle. You can only be mine in this lifetime.â
âYes, I know.â
Sophie woke up around twenty minutes later and looked at the time to find that the competition was
starting soon.
She felt a little irritated. To be more specific, it was the annoying weather that made it hard for her to
cheer up.
âWhatâs wrong? Are you unwell?â
âIâm fine. Iâm going to pop by the washroom,â informed Sophie. Her monthlies were supposed to be
arriving tomorrow, but she already felt something was off.
Sure enough, she found that her monthlies had arrived earlier than expected when she checked herself
in the washroom.
