Chapter 917
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
Chapter 917 Support
âMmm.â
Sophie did not have much of an opinion regarding those details.
It doesnât matter who becomes our groomsmen and bridesmaids as long as they are all good friends of
ours.
âGeorgina would like to be a bridesmaid as well,â Arius chimed in when he noticed that she was too shy
to speak up.
âWhatâs the meaning of this, Arius? What about me?â I donât care what happens, I will be a bridesmaid!
âItâs not like there can only be one groomsman or bridesmaid,â Sarah said instinctively upon noticing
their agitation. âWe can simply have several more of each.â
âThatâs right. Weâll have three groomsmen and three bridesmaids.â Tristan thought it was a lucky
number.
He never used to believe in luck.
After meeting Sophie, however, he began to wonder if there was some truth to those superstitions.
The girls chatted in the living room while the men stepped outside for a cigarette.
âCongratulations, Sophie. Things are looking great for you,â Georgina gushed.
All of them knew what kind of a person Sophie was.
She might seem cold and unfeeling to somebody who did not know her.
With the passage of time, however, one would find her to be a true friend indeed.
That was why her friends were willing to go to the ends of the earth for her.
âYou will find happiness with Arius too, Georgina. This is how he has always been. He might have hurt
you before, but he will treasure you now that heâs sure you are the one.â
Arius had always looked out for Sophie, and she wanted him to find happiness.
âI do feel lucky being with him.â
I donât wish for much. All I want is to be with Arius.
Sarah and Ysabelle did not speak. The latter, especially, was particularly quiet. I, on the other hand,
may remain single for the rest of my life. Nobody else would tolerate me.
âWhatâs the matter? Penny for your thoughts?â Sarah saw through Ysabelleâs thoughts at once. Things
were going well with Felix, werenât they? Why did it have to end up this way? âHave you heard,
Ysabelle?â
âWhat?â
Ysabelle did not look interested in anything at the moment.
âFelix might be going to Fandar.â Sarah had heard it from Tristan. It was strange as Felix was the one
who made the request.
There were indeed matters at Fandar to be taken care of, so either he or Charles had to be there.
Moreover, it was not a pleasant task.
That was the reason for Charlesâ reluctance to take the job, yet Felix had volunteered to do it.
Ysabelle took a sip of wine. âOh? Where he chooses to go is his business. How is it any of mine?â
Iâm just not in the habit of realizing heâs no longer by my side, thatâs all. There is no other reason. A
habit is something frightening indeed. However, no matter how frightening it may seem, I will eventually
get used to something else.
âFandar is quite dangerous. You two should talk things out if there is anything you want to say to each
other before he leaves.â
Who knows if there might be a chance to salvage the relationship?
âOh, come on, Aunt Sarah. Donât frighten me. Though Iâve never been there, I know Felix can take care
of the task and handle himself.â
Ysabelle was a little restless, so she rose to her feet and walked to the French windows.
Noticing her despondency, Sophie followed her.
âIt doesnât matter whether or not you decide to get back together, you should talk things out lest there
are any misunderstandings between the two of you.
Ysabelle took a deep breath.
âI know.â
At that exact moment, Felix came to see Tristan, possibly for some matters concerning his trip to
Fandar.
Sarah opened the door and saw him enter with some documents in hand.
âHave you decided to go there?â
Fandar was not a good place to be. With its frequent wars, nobody knew what would happen the
following day.
Felix nodded.
âThey need someone there. Besides, I have nothing much going on of late, so I thought I would be of
help.
I will go crazy if I remain here. Itâs not a nice feeling to have at all. Hence, itâs best to just leave this
place.
âThen you should talk to Ysabelle. Iâd already put in a word for you.â
âI will. Let me speak to Tristan first.â Instead of going to see Ysabelle, Felix went directly to Tristan.
Since she wanted to break up, weâll have a temporary break. Itâll only make her more frustrated if this
goes on. It is never my intention to upset her.
Ysabelle bit her lower lip as she watched Felix go upstairs without so much as a glance at her. Isnât this
what I wanted?
âIâm going home.â Suddenly, she did not wish to stay there another second longer. She wanted to be
alone.
âLeave with me in a while. I donât feel good letting you go home on your own, seeing as you have had
some wine.ââ
Sarah did not agree.
What is it that cannot be discussed? This isnât helping the situation!
âWhat are you doing, Aunt Sarah? I can go home on my own. Donât worry about me.â
âSince you were the one who wanted to end things, Ysabelle, what are you afraid of?â Sarah said
pointedly.
âWhat do you mean, Aunt Sarah? Who says Iâm afraid? Iâm not afraid of anything. What do I have to be
afraid of?â The last two sentences sounded more like she was reassuring herself.
Sophie grabbed her shoulder.
Thatâs right. You are not afraid of anything. Weâre here for you. What do you have to fear? As long as
we are around, nobody will hurt you.â
âActually, Felix never hurt me.â
Sarah and Sophie exchanged a glance.
This girl! Whatâs the matter with her? Despite being protective of Feliz, she still insists on breaking up.
Isnât she asking for it? Why is she being so cruel to herself? Thereâs no need at all for that!
Tristan glanced at the folder Felix was holding as soon as the latter appeared. âHave you made up your
mind?â he asked, raising his eyebrows.
âYes.â
There is no need to beat around the bush between sworn brothers.
âAll right. Go, then. Bertram will be there to help you.â
The situation in Fandar is indeed a prickly one. That is why out of the four of them, one must go.
Initially, Tristan had wanted to personally go as he would never delegate dangerous missions like that
to his men.
Well, seeing that Felix insisted on going. I will respect his decision.
âIs this because of Ysabelle? Have you decided to take a break?â
âNot entirely. Since there are matters in Fandar to be taken care of, somebody has to be there to settle
them. I think I am capable enough to handle with it.â
Having been by Mr. Tristanâs side long enough, I now have the ability to deal with problems like this.
âVery well. Let me know immediately if you run into something you couldnât handle. I can fly over any
time.â
Thereâs nothing much to be said amongst brothers. A show of support is all that matters.
