Chapter 873
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
Noticing that her boss was still busy, the secretary dared not disturb him further. She had no choice but
to leave and close the door behind her.
âYouâll know just how capable I am after weâre married,â Tristan said.
Why is he being such a pervert all of a sudden?
âWhat are you doing now?â Tristan asked with concern. As Sophie had a theoretical assessment in the
morning and a practical test in the afternoon, she couldnât go home at noon. âHow about I come over at
noon to have lunch with you?â
âThatâs not necessary. Noontime is short, so you should go back and rest properly instead of traveling
back and forth.â
âOkay.â Tristan tapped his thigh with one hand, feeling quite unhappy about not being able to see her at
noon.
âWhatâs the matter? If you have something to do, you can get back to work. Sandra and I are going to
eat now.â
âAll right. Go and have your meal, then.â He didnât want to delay her lunchtime. âWatch what you eat.
You have a sensitive stomach.â
âOkay. I got it. Donât worry.â
After hanging up the phone, Sophie turned to face the two people beside her. âWhatâs wrong? Why are
you both looking at me like that?â
Sandra said, âItâs just that weâve never seen you like this before. You must really like Mr. Tristan, right?â
Regardless of their characters, any girl would show their docile side in front of their boyfriend.
âYes, I like him a lot.â Sophie didnât feel the need to hide her affection for Tristan because she genuinely
loved him.
âI envy you for being able to meet someone youâre so fond of,â Sandra wondered when she could meet
the love of her life.
âDonât envy me. Everyone will meet their special someone; itâs just a matter of time.â
Simon chimed in, âI might not meet someone like that in this lifetime anymore.â
Hearing him say that, Sandra couldnât help but glance at him.
âI didnât mean anything by that. Donât take it to heart.â
Simon shrugged his shoulders. Honestly, thatâs just a desultory remark. The person Iâm in love with will
never reciprocate my feelings.
Sophie fell silent. Should I distance myself from Simon? He still seems to harbor feelings for me. If that
were the case, wouldnât it be unfair to him for us to continue hanging out?
âAll right, I really didnât mean anything by that. Letâs go and have lunch. Thereâs another practical
examination in the afternoon, right?â
The evaluation was important for Sophie. Although they were able to anticipate the outcome, they still
couldnât help feeling a little worried.
âOkay, letâs go.â Simon walked ahead, not wanting to see the expressions on the two girlsâ faces. He
was also very annoyed at himself for saying such words. I already know things can never work out
between Sophie and me, so why did I mention that to make everyone uncomfortable?
âSophie, Simon isâ¦â Sandra didnât know what to say either. Forgetting had always been a difficult task.
âDo you think I should distance myself from him?â Sophie was uncertain, but she was willing to do so if
necessary.
Sandra shook her head.
âIf you do that, heâll definitely be heartbroken. Simon is actually a good person, and heâs a wonderful
friend.â
Simon used to be a spoiled scion in the past, but now, he was working very hard to be a better person.
âAll right.â Sophie nodded.
Falling in love with someone wasnât something others could control. Hence, she was also at a loss for
what to say at that moment.
The trio had their lunch at the cafeteria. Then, they went back to their respective place to rest. When
Sophie reached the condominium, she found Tristan there.
âDidnât I tell you not to come back at noon? You should have rested in the company.â Tristan had a
lounge inside his office at Lombard Group, where he could have taken a good nap. Instead, he chose
to travel back and forth, causing him to have insufficient time to get proper rest at noon.
âI came back because there was nothing to do at the office,â Tristan said nonchalantly.
He felt uneasy when he couldnât see her, so no matter how busy he was, he wanted to come over at
noon.
âYouâre so stubborn!â Sophie was stumped.
Tristan walked over and pulled her into his arms.
âWhatâs the matter? Are you that reluctant to see me?â I only dropped by to see her, thatâs all. Whatâs
with that face of hers?
âThatâs not it. I just want you to get enough rest.â We will see each other at night anyway, wonât we?
He picked her up, placed her on the couch, and helped her take off her shoes.
âI genuinely had nothing to do, so I came to see you.â
âOkay. Whatever you say is right.â She had no objections.
Tristan didnât respond. Fine. Perhaps Iâve been a bit too clingy lately.
âSophie, do you think Iâm annoying?â Tristan was a little discouraged, but all he wanted was just to stay
by her side.
âNo. I will never find you annoying. Donât worry.â
He didnât know how much she loved him.
âOkay. What did you have for lunch?â
âI ate at the cafeteria.â
âYou should avoid eating at the cafeteria from now on. The meals there arenât nutritious.â
âSo many people eat there, so how can the food there not be nutritious? The University of Medicineâs
cafeteria is still of acceptable standards. They prepared our meals by allocating just the right
proportions of nutrients.â
âI donât care about others. I only care about you.â
âAll right! Iâll try to eat at home in the future.â She hadnât asked the housekeeper to come over and cook
that day, so she ate at the cafeteria.
âWhy donât we do this? Iâll drop by tomorrow to cook for you.â He had recently learned a few more
dishes and was eager to try making them.
âTristan, youâre too much. Youâre already very busy, so you donât need to come and prepare food for
me.â This man is truly irresistible.
âWhy is that? Is my cooking not good? Do you not like it?â He had been improving himself, but he
seemed to be lagging a little behind still compared to Sarah.
âNo, your cooking is great. I just hope you can have more time to rest at noon.â
âIn that case, Iâll cook for you in the evening!â
Sophie was rendered speechless.
âSure.â
Ultimately, she nodded and agreed. After all, this is a heartfelt gesture on his part, right?
They took a nap in the mansion, and at two oâclock, Tristan drove Sophie to the University of Medicine.
âGood luck!â Tristan cheered Sophie on before he left.
âOkay. Iâll do my best.â
Sophie waited for him to leave before walking inward. When the students saw her, they began
discussing the theoretical exam in the morning as they still didnât know the results.
Nevertheless, everyone was very concerned about that evaluation. Sophie had attained a height they
could never reach.
Someone like her could easily invoke othersâ jealousy.
Not only was she beautiful and intelligent, but she also had a handsome boyfriend. She was
undoubtedly a winner in life.
Meanwhile, Sophie had arrived at the principalâs office.
âSophie, youâre here. Perfect timing. Letâs head to the site of this afternoonâs exam now.â
âOkay.â Sophie had no objections whatsoever.
âThe assessment this time will be surgery. Will you be fine?â No matter how capable Sophie was, she
was still just a freshman. Hence, Dominic was actually quite worried about letting her perform an
operation.
