Chapter 819
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
Arius knew what she meant. Itâs true that we need to have faith in everything we do. Without faith, we
can never succeed in anything.
âYou can leave first. I want to be alone for a while,â said Sophie.
âSure.â
After Arius went downstairs, Sophie was alone on the top floor.
She took out her phone and called Tristan.
âWhat are you doing?â
âNothing much. How about you? Are you running out of ideas?â
âYes.â
âSophie, you have tried your best. All these have nothing to do with you. Thereâs no need to pressurize
yourself.â
âI know.â
âAre you missing me? Do you want me to come over?â If nothing could be done, then it would be better
not to do anything.
âItâs all right. Thereâs no need for you to come here.â
Even if he did, there was nothing much he could do to help.
âBut, I want to see you. You want to see me, too, right?â Otherwise, she would not have phoned him.
âYes.â
It was true. That was why she gave him a call.
âBut, thereâs really no need for you to come over. Iâm going back to work now. Once Iâm done, Iâll go
over and look for you.â
âOkay.â
Tristan did not force her, knowing that she was a very responsible person. If she took over certain
responsibilities, she would not give up so easily.
Sophie then returned to the laboratory.
That was the first time she ran out of ideas.
After Arius returned to the laboratory, he began a new experiment. Unfortunately, it still failed in the
end.
That made him feel very lousy.
When Barney saw Ariusâ expression, he knew what the result was.
Barney went over and patted his shoulders.
âDonât worry. Everything takes time.â
No matter how capable a person might be, there was no way one could foresee the future.
It would be normal for anyone to fail several times before he or she could achieve success.
Sophie also joined them.
âDr. Smith, please donât worry about us. We know what we should do.â After all, that was supposed to
be a team effort.
The problem was no one from the International Medical Association wanted to collaborate with them.
They did not trust them anymore.
That was the cause of the current problem.
âDr. Smith, I think we should redistribute our workload.â Since no one from the International Medical
Association was able to trust them, they would have to have faith in themselves.
âFine. What do you suggest, then? Weâll go along with your idea.â
Barney had always trusted Sophie very much.
He would support her no matter what decisions she made.
Sophie handed the two men a piece of paper each.
âI have already listed the work that needs to be done. Just follow according to this list.â
Right now, she had no confidence that it would work.
The only thing they could do was give it a shot.
âSure, no problem. Iâll do my best to cooperate with you.â At that instant, Arius had run out of ideas.
He found Sophieâs way of distributing the workload to be very reasonable.
âIâm fine with it too. From now on, letâs continue with our work, then!â
They decided to risk it all now.
If it did not work out, they would have to give it up.
In the medical world, not everything had a solution in the end.
More often than not, their attempts would result in failure.
Meanwhile, Tristan took a shower and had a change of clothes before he drove to the International
Medical Association.
He knew he could not gain entry, but he was adamant about getting his way.
However, knowing that Sophie did not want him to be there, he controlled himself in the end and did not
go into the association.
Because of that, he bumped into Nicholas!
Tristan could not help but frown when he saw him there.
At the same time, Nicholas noticed him too!
Obviously, the two men were there for the same reason.
They were there to see Sophie.
Nicholas got out of his car and walked up to Tristanâs car.
âDonât look at me like this. Iâm just here to see her. Whatâs wrong with that?â I thought they werenât
married yet, no? Why is he so possessive of her?
âIâm not interested in why you are here. You donât have to tell me.â
âTristan, donât waste your energy. You wonât find Butterfly.â
Nicholas knew what Tristan was up to recently.
However, he did not interfere because he knew Tristan could not locate her.
Tristan decided to ignore him. As far as he was concerned, Nicholas was a lunatic. The more he
entertained Nicholas, the crazier he would become.
âTo be honest, I havenât seen Sophie for a few days now. I really miss her,â mumbled Nicholas.
Still, Tristan ignored him. What right does he have to miss my woman?
Just then, Tristanâs phone rang. It was Sophie.
âAre you done? Iâm outside the International Medical Association now. If you are done with your work,
letâs have a meal together!â
She had been busy for the past few days.
âI have just resolved the matter. We have an idea now. I thought I told you to rest at the hotel. What are
you doing here?â
The association was a dangerous place.
âI miss you. Thatâs why Iâm here. Iâm waiting for you here. It wonât take up too much of your time. After
all, you need to eat. Itâs only a meal.â
âAll right, then. Hold on for a while. Let me change my clothes, and Iâll be out in a minute.â Heâs right.
Itâs time to eat something. No matter how urgent things may be, there is still time for a meal.
During his conversation with her, Tristan had completely forgotten about the man who was standing
next to him.
Unfortunately, Nicholas had heard everything.
Yet, he stood there with no intention of leaving.
If he had been the one to phone Sophie, she would not have come out.
Now that Sophie was coming out, he had to join them for the meal.
âNicholas, why are you still here? Weâre going on a date. Why must you insist on being a third wheel?â
This man is so obtuse.
Does he not know that he isnât welcome here?
âItâs only a meal. Donât think too highly of yourself.â Nicholas was bitter about it.
That was what angered him the most.
Tristan could pull off any stunt he wanted to with ease, but the same could not be said for Nicholas.
To top it off, those things mattered the most to Nicholas.
Sophie did not expect both men to bump into one another. The moment they met, they wanted to kill
each other.
A smile appeared on Nicholasâ face when he saw Sophie.
âItâs been a while. Since you guys are going for a meal, can you bring me along? Iâm alone, and itâs
boring to eat by myself,â Nicholas stated his intent.
âNicholas, weâre going on a date. Do you think itâs right that you go with us?â Right now, all Tristan
wanted to do was fight with him.
âWhatâs wrong with it? No matter what, Sophie and I are friends. Itâs only dinner. It wonât affect
anything.â Nicholas was persistent in getting his way.
