Chapter 738
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
âItâs okay. Theyâll be fine.â Sophie could not find any other comforting words to say. She was never
good at consoling people.
Tristan tightened his grip on her hand and said, âYeah, I know. Youâve had a long day today. Sit down
and rest for a while.â Even at such a critical moment, he was still worried about her.
âIâm fine. Iâll stay here with you,â the woman assured.
Back when Sophieâs grandfather was unwell, he had stayed and kept her company too. She only
wished that Sarah and the others were all right.
âOkay,â he replied.
Thankfully, neither William nor Sarah was seriously hurt. They only required a simple treatment from
the doctor.
âAs for the specifics, we need to do more tests tomorrow to find out. However, they shouldnât have any
serious injuries.â The doctor spoke truthfully.
âAll right. Doctor, remember to do a full body check for him.â Even though William had an annual body
check-up, it was safer to do it once more.
âOkay, Iâll leave first.â With that, the doctor left.
Tristan entered the ward soon after. Although William was clear-headed now, he looked a little
disheveled.
But he was still the William Lombard from Jipsdale that everyone was familiar with.
The man that no one could mess with.
Even though Sophie was there, William did not comment.
âItâs just a minor injury. Thereâs no need for you all to stay here. You can all go home.â The old man was
mindful that it was late at night, and it was pointless for them to stay any longer.
âGrandpa, you nearly scared me to death.â Seeing that William was okay, Ysabelle could not hold back
her tears and cried.
Seeing the woman crying miserably, William felt very heartbroken.
âLook at me. Donât I seem fine? Donât cry, my good girl!â he coaxed.
Ysabelle was his most beloved granddaughter, so naturally, he could not bear to see her feeling so
devastated.
Felix immediately handed her some tissues to wipe her face. âOkay, stop crying. Itâs already late, so let
me send you back! Letâs not disturb your grandpaâs rest,â he suggested.
What a complicated relationship.
As a wise man, William could naturally deduce Ysabelle and Felixâs relationship. He had no problem
with the two being together.
However, their relationship was simply too complicated.
âGrandpa, Iâll come to see you tomorrow. Please rest well and listen to the doctorâs advice, okay?â
Ysabelle urged.
âYes. Donât worry; Iâm okay. After you head back, rest well and donât overthink,â William comforted.
âOkay,â Ysabelle relented before leaving with Felix.
Sophie knew that William wanted to discuss something with Tristan privately. Hence, she found an
excuse to leave.
As she sat alone in the hospital corridor, she counted her blessings that Sarah and the others were all
fine.
At that moment, she felt very fortunate.
Suddenly, Sophieâs phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number, but she answered the call anyway.
âSophie, itâs me!â
Nicholas Sable! Why canât he just give up? Hadnât I made myself clear?
âHave you received the gift I sent you?â he asked.
Hearing his words, Sophie narrowed her eyes. âWhat do you mean? Explain yourself.â
âCar accident!â Nicholas replied straightforwardly. âSophie, no matter what, we are still friends, right?
How could you not invite me to your engagement? I was very displeased, so I got you a small gift. You
donât mind, do you?â
So all of this was because of him!
âYouâre courting death, Nicholas!â the woman bellowed.
How could he do this? Luckily, Old Mr. Lombard and the others are okay. Otherwise, what am I going to
say to Tristan?
When the man sensed Sophieâs fury, he could not help but laugh.
âDo you feel angry right now? I was likewise furious when I learned that you were getting engaged to
Tristan. I told you previously that I loved you and that you couldnât marry anyone else.â
Nicholas was so obsessed with her that it was borderline crazy.
âI can overlook this incident. Letâs treat this as a lesson. Donât marry him, or the next punishment wonât
be so simple,â the man threatened. âIf you donât care about his fatherâs and sisterâs lives, I have nothing
to say.â
Sophie was enraged by Nicholasâs insanity.
âNicholas Sable, are you out of your mind? Where are you? Iâll find you, and weâll settle things once
and for all.â She was tired of Nicholasâ constant badgering. It would be better to just end things directly.
âNo! If you see me now, youâll definitely kill me!â Nicholas replied. He stood in front of a window, looking
at the city night view with a glass of red wine in his hand.
âYou better pray that I donât find you, Nicholas. Otherwise, you wonât live past that encounter,â Sophie
hissed before ending the call.
Next, she called Butterfly and instructed, âFind Nicholas Sable. I swear Iâll kill him this time!â
Butterfly was surprised to hear Sophieâs furious voice because she hadnât heard her that upset in a
long time.
âWhatâs wrong?â she asked in concern.
Nicholas was a ruthless psycho and not someone to mess with.
âYou donât need to bother about anything else. Heâs in Chanaea now. Just find out his location and
send it to me,â Sophie said tersely. It had been a long time since she felt so enraged and eager to kill
someone.
It took her so long to find happiness, so she did not want anyone to destroy her life.
âOkay, I got it. Donât worry. Iâll find his location and send it to you right away,â Butterfly said confidently.
Meanwhile, in the hospital room, Tristan was exasperated at his fatherâs behavior.
âCanât you say whatever you have to say in front of Sophie? Sheâll be upset if you act like this,â he
lamented.
The old man was rendered speechless by Tristanâs complaint.
They havenât even gotten married yet, but heâs already so biased toward her!
âIâm doing this for her own good. There are some things that she should not know,â William explained.
âDo you know why we had the car accident?â
After Tristan shook his head, the old man continued, âSomeone shot the tire with a gun! Everything
happened too quickly, so I didnât have the chance to tell you. This car accident was intentional.â
As a veteran in the business world, William had seen all kinds of dirty tactics.
âI see. Iâll investigate this matter. Please rest well.â Tristanâs eyes turned icy cold as he spoke.
Damn it! Who could be so daring?
âWell, you be careful too.â After all, their enemy seemed well-prepared.
âI will,â Tristan replied.
âAll right. Now send Sophie back to rest! I think our enemy just wants to threaten us, so thereâs no need
to stay here and guard me,â William said.
