Chapter 724
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
âDad, what are you talking about? Donât I always listen to you?â
Lincoln was no longer a child. Naturally, he knew what his father meant.
âHmph, youâve been so busy that youâve only come home a few times this week. How is Ysabelle
doing? Have you cared for her?â
Even if they all show little to no worry about their children, thereâs nothing I can do about it.
âDad, itâs not that I donât wish to take care of matters. As you know, Ysabelle has her own ideas. When
I see how happy she is in the entertainment industry after previously refusing to let her join the industry,
I find it worth it.â
As Ysabelle was his only daughter, he greatly wished for her happiness.
âHave you no intention of controlling her love life? I see that sheâs quite close with the Northley familyâs
son. Felix is a good man, but heâs a bit too old for her.â
William wasnât too pleased with that, as he thought that Ysabelle should be with someone who was of a
similar age to her. Since Felix was much older than her, William wasnât satisfied with their relationship.
âDad, letâs leave it to Ysabelle to decide. Theyâll be fine as long as she likes him,â Lincoln murmured.
Ysabelleâs relationship isnât something we should meddle in.
âEach and every one of you is justâugh! You show such little care for your daughter!â William retorted.
Ysabelle is still young. What does she know?
Ysabelle felt her heart skip a beat when she heard Williamâs words. She immediately went to her room
to call Felix.
âFelix! Grandpa thinks youâre too old for me!â
Felix was befuddled. Iâm only thirty years old! Does that make me seem like an old man to Old Mr.
Lombard?
âYsabelle, do you think that Iâm old too?â Felix tried to convince himself that he was fine as long as
Ysabelle didnât mind.
Grinning evilly, Ysabelle replied, âAfter hearing Grandpa mention it, I guess I do think that youâre pretty
old.â
âYsabelle, listen⦠I belong to you for the rest of your life. Donât even think about tossing me aside with
such a superfluous reason.â
Itâs a good thing Ysabelle isnât in front of me right now, or Iâd be tempted to spank her bottom. Sheâs
such a disobedient girl, causing me to worry about her so much. How did she turn the tables in such a
short time?
âOkay, okay! I was just kidding. Mr. Northley is the youngest and the most handsome uncle in the
world!â
Felix was bereft of words.
âListen, you, I only wish to be your husband, not some uncle!â Stop making me feel old.
âAll right, I got it.â Ysabelle felt a blissful feeling suffuse her heart. âThough I think youâd better brace
yourself. Grandpa doesnât seem to be too pleased with you.â
âI know. Donât worry. The feelings I have for you are unbreakable! Nothing can stop my love for you.â
All of a sudden, Ysabelle heard the sound of a car engine and realized that Sophie and the others had
returned.
âOkay, Iâm going to end the call now. Sophie and the others are back. Iâm heading downstairs for
dinner,â Ysabelle quickly said, intending to hang up.
âWait! Give me a goodbye kiss before you go!â Felix had planned to dine outside. However, he returned
home because he had something to take care of.
Ysabelle gave the phone a kiss.
âThere, happy now? I can go eat now, right?â Ysabelle was in an exceedingly good mood.
âMm, eat lots and have my share too.â
âSure!â
âYsabelle, I wish to get married too,â Felix said all of sudden.
It was Ysabelleâs turned to be rendered speechless.
âFelix, letâs discuss this some other time. You know that my career is on the rise at the moment. Now is
not the time to get married.â
âYes, I know. I just wanted you to know that youâre the only person I want to marry and no one else.â
Having said that, Felix finally hung up.
Ysabelleâs heart was racing as she put down her phone. She felt incredibly moved by Felixâs words. To
have someone who only has me in his mind, I can ask for nothing more in this lifetime.
As Ysabelle went downstairs, she saw Tristan and Sophie come in. She immediately accepted the
presents Sophie was holding.
Sarah had ordered the housekeeper to prepare dinner.
âAll right, since everyone has arrived, letâs eat! Dad, Lincoln, go wash your hands!â
It had been a long time since the place had been so festive.
William did not say much as they all sat down to eat.
After they ate, the whole family sat in the living room and discussed Sophie and Tristanâs wedding.
âSophie, pick a time so that I can meet with your parents. Itâs a matter of courtesy,â William said. Tristan
should have no trouble coming up with the wedding gift himself.
Since their children were getting married, William thought he should meet with Sophieâs parents
beforehand. Something like this should be initiated by the manâs parents.
âOkay, Iâll make the arrangements.â Sophie did not try to weasel her way out of it. After all, she only had
to arrange for them to have a meal together.
âAs for the rest of the details, the two of you can discuss it among yourselves. Of course, donât hesitate
to come to me if you need my help.â
Truth be told, William really wanted to help out. However, Tristan wanted to take care of everything
himself, so he barely had a chance to do so.
âThank you, Old Mr. Lombard.â
Since Lincoln had a prior engagement, he soon left after chatting with them for a bit. He even told
Ysabelle to behave herself before leaving.
âDad, donât you think Iâm quite well-behaved?â Ysabelle felt aggrieved. Iâve been giving my relationship
my all, practicing my singing, and studying diligently. How am I not well-behaved?
âYes, Iâm pleased with your recent behavior too. I was just giving you a reminder.â As a father, Lincoln
was incredibly proud to have such a daughter.
Afterward, William and Tristan left for the study to discuss an important matter.
Only Sophie, Ysabelle, and Sarah remained in the living room.
âHey, Sophie! How should I address you after you marry Uncle Tristan?â After Sophie married Tristan,
she would immediately have seniority over Ysabelle.
âWell, I donât really care about such formalities.â Sophie wasnât one to quibble over such matters.
âNo can do! Uncle Tristan wonât be pleased if he finds out.â Ysabelle still feared her uncle.
âDonât worry about it. Iâve got your back. You donât have to walk on eggshells around Tristan.â
Ysabelle hugged Sophie happily upon hearing that. She asked, âSophie, are you really getting married?
It feels so unreal!â It was a peculiar feeling.
âWhatâs so strange about it? People get married eventually.â But it isnât easy to marry someone you
truly love.
âYou have to be happy, Sophie!â Sarah smiled.
âOh, Sarah, Iâm sure youâll meet someone you truly love too.â
Sarah chose to remain silent. Will I fall in love with someone? Iâve never been in a proper relationship
before, and the only time I had feelings for someone was an unrequited crush. Honestly, when I think
about it, I feel like such a failure.
She suddenly thought of Juan and felt flustered. I have no idea whatâs on his mind. Is it possible that
heâs in love with me?
