Chapter 548
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
When Sophie turned on the tap to wash her hands, the other girls crowded around her instead of
heading into the cubicles.
âSophie, what did you do? Why do so many of the professors love you? Did you sleep with them?â
âThatâs right! If not for her skills in bed, how did she become every professorâs favorite?â
Rendered speechless, Sophie flicked the water off her hands before turning to face them.
âHave you said enough?â
âIf you dare do it, why donât you dare hear it? Let me warn you; you had better stay away from Simon.
Heâs mine!â
Sophie couldnât help but snigger.
âHeâs just a piece of trash, and only trash like you are taken in by him!â Heâs nothing but a rich playboy
and probably doesnât have any redeeming qualities other than his money.
âYouââ
âGet her!â
Not wanting to waste words with Sophie, the five girls, cognizant of their numerical advantage, decided
to teach her a lesson.
Sophieâs brow cocked in response.
It turns out that theyâre here for a fight!
âYou shouldâve said so if a fight is what youâre looking for. Why did you have to beat around the bush?
Sheesh!â
No sooner had she finished than she grabbed the long hair of her first attacker and gave it a forceful
tug, immobilizing the latter at once.
âArgh!â
âYouâre so noisy!â Sophie was annoyed by the girlâs agonized scream. Whatâs with the overreaction? I
only pulled her hair.
Given Sophieâs skills, the girls were naturally no match for her.
In the end, they were all beaten to a pulp, but their injuries were located in discreet places, causing
them to appear unscathed from the outside.
As for Sophie, she washed her hands again.
âWhy do you insist on getting on my nerves when I specifically warned you not to? Next time, stay out
of my way, as I have no time to entertain any of you!â
Considering that violence was the fastest solution, she didnât mind giving them a piece of her mind.
The matter concluded with the girls sprawled on the floor of the washroom, wallowing in their defeat.
Meanwhile, Sandra had seen the group of girls following Sophie into the restroom. Hence, she rushed
over with the intention of helping.
Little did she expect to see the girls strewn across the washroom floor, juxtaposed against the standing
Sophie washing her hands calmly.
âSophie, are you all right?â There are five of them, and yet, she looks unharmed.
âDonât worry. Iâm fine. Letâs go now. Iâll buy you a drink.â Iâve had enough of this weather and the
scorching heat.
With that, she led Sandra out under the latterâs gaze of admiration.
âAnd here I was, thinking of helping you out, but you ended up surprising me by taking care of them!â
Despite her initial hesitance, Sandra decided to head to Sophieâs rescue when she remembered all that
the latter had done for her.
âYou sound as if it was a shame that you missed it. Iâll definitely seek out your help the next time thereâs
trouble.â
Sandra shook her head.
âForget it. Fighting is not my thing. I was just worried about you.â Sandra made her stand clear
immediately.
âSophie, after what you have done to them, theyâre not going to let it slide.â Sandra was still worried.
She knew that Sophie was good and wouldnât offend others without cause.
Therefore, it was clear to her that the group of girls crossed the line by attacking Sophie for no reason.
Just as expected, the girl who fancied Simon went crying to him.
âSimon, the rumors about Sophie being a hooligan are true. She has really gone too far by beating up
the five of us girls!â
As she had a crush on Simon, she naturally hoped that he wouldnât pay attention to other girls,
especially Sophie.
The latter was her worst nightmare, given her talent for seducing men.
âGreta, didnât I tell you before that I donât like you at all?â Simon asserted in a scathing tone, âWhat
goes on between Sophie and I is none of your business.â
Simonâs feelings for Sophie had grown stronger by the day.
Sheâs such a talented girl. If I can make her my girlfriend, my familyâs hospital will have a fitting heir to
run it.
In response, the defiant Greta questioned, âAre you not going to hold her accountable for beating you
up so badly?â
âDidnât I just say that itâs none of your business?â Simon was in no mood to listen to anything Greta had
to say.
When he subsequently left in a huff, leaving her all alone, Gretaâs indignance intensified.
Meanwhile, William had personally gone to see Sophie, and it was to be their first-ever private meeting.
Even though she was caught off-guard by it, she still agreed to meet him.
The moment she appeared, the Lombard familyâs driver opened the car door to let her in.
âSophie, are you all right?â There are five of them, and yet, she looks unharmed.
Thereafter, he stood guard outside.
âOld Mr. Lombard, itâs a pleasure to meet you,â Sophie greeted politely.
At the end of the day, he was still Tristanâs father.
She still had to give him due respect in spite of his disapproval of her.
âGiven how smart you are, Iâm sure you know why Iâm here.â
âOld Mr. Lombard, what might that be? Are you going to ask me to leave Tristan?â
âThatâs correct. I donât want you to be a burden to him. He lives in an environment that is filled with
dangers that might cost him his life at any moment. Hence, I hope he finds someone who is capable of
doing battle by his side instead of a high-maintenance girl like you.â
He intended Tristan to have someone who could take care of him and not one who would cause him to
lose his own principles.
âBe a burden? What if I tell you that I wonât drag him down? Furthermore, when the need arises, Iâll be
his best comrade-in-arms?â
This was something she had absolute confidence in.
In fact, there was no one on earth more qualified than her to fight shoulder-to-shoulder with him.
Nonetheless, William burst into laughter.
âI know youâre a smart young lady, but youâre really not suited for such a vicious world.â
âOld Mr. Lombard, give me a chance, will you? Iâll prove to you that Iâm the best person to be by his
side.â
Although she didnât need to prove herself to anyone, she was willing to do so for William solely on the
account that he was Tristanâs father.
âIs that so? What will you do if someone tries to assassinate Tristan?â
âIâll kill them.â
Williamâs brows furrowed after the answer blindsided him.
âIn fact, Iâll eliminate them before they make their move.â
Thatâs the right answer, isnât it? Or am I expected to take a bullet for him? Only an idiot would do that!
âIs that so?â
William narrowed his eyes as he scrutinized the girl in front of him, trying to discern if she was telling
the truth.
âI believe Iâm more than capable of doing so after saving Tristan twice.â Only her presence can stop
Tristanâs enemies from laying a finger on him.
âReally? What about your past? Do you think that Tristan wonât be disgraced by a girlfriend like you?â
