Chapter 1009 You Must Be Happy
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
âFrankly, none of these men can compare to Tristan.â Nothing aroused her more than the sight of
Tristanâs body.
Ysabelle, Cecilia, and Sarah were stunned into an awkward silence.
âAh, itâs fine! Let them leave!â If Tristan knew what was going on, he would go mad.
Besides, she really had no interest in those men.
âYouâre going to dismiss them just like that after weâve spent so much money on them? Itâs not such a
big deal! This is your last chance.â If she doesnât watch the shore now, she will have no other chance in
the future.
âIâm not even remotely interested in having a chance to watch them. Let them leave, and let us girls just
chat.â All she wanted on a day like that was to spend time bonding with her girlfriends.
âOkay, then!â Ysabelle was a little disappointed. Although she was completely besotted with Felix, she
did not think there was anything wrong with feasting her eyes on other men.
Cecelia, too, was sorry to see the hunky men leave.
âItâs the twenty-first century! Itâs not wrong to look at a little eye candy! Tristanâs really got you in the
palm of his hand!â Cecelia grumbled. âAfter youâre married and have children, you wonât be able to do
such things anymore!â
âTristan will never stop me from doing what I want.â Sophie was deadly sure of that.
Tristan would do anything to make her happy.
âWell, thatâs true. He loves you so much that he wonât restrict you from doing anything even after
marriage.â Cecelia sounded a little envious. âAh, I donât look too bad, but why canât I meet someone I
really like?â
Although Cecilia was still too young to worry, the fact that her best friend was getting married and living
her happily-ever-after life made her want the same for herself as well.
She was rather depressed.
Ysabelle patted Cecelia comfortingly.
âDonât worry, Cecelia. Youâll definitely meet someone who will sweep you off your feet one day!â
The time had simply not come for Cecelia yet.
âIf you say so⦠Ah, Sophie! You must be happy!â
God is fair! Sophie has been through so much pain and bitterness in the past. She deserves to have
met Tristan!
âWell, weâll all have our happy ending!â Sarah knew that Cecelia had a crush on Sean, but Sean was a
difficult person to deal with.
She understood how Cecelia felt. Unrequited love is one of the most painful emotions that one can feel
for another person.
âCecelia, Sean has always had someone in his heart. I think itâs best that you forget about him.â
Falling in love with such a person would be painful, and the pain would not be worth it.
âWhy are you bringing this up, Sarah? Itâs Sophieâs bachelorette party today. Letâs not talk about that. I
know thereâs no hope for Sean and me, and besides, I donât like him as much as you think I do.â
Such a cold and detached man like Sean is not suitable for me at all! I wonât go looking for trouble!
Cecelia was no fool.
âOkay, okay.â
All the others knew that she was lying, but there was nothing they could do about it. Ceceliaâs emotions
were her own private business, and no one else had the right to interfere in matters of her heart.
âOkay, letâs all have a drink! Everybody must get drunk tonight!â Itâs a happy day today.
âYes! Nobody goes home until theyâre drunk!â Ysabelle echoed the sentiment, raising her glass to toast
the others.
The girls were close friends and it was because of Sophie that they were all brought together.
Later in the night, Butterfly made an appearance bearing a gift for Sophie.
Ysabelle was curious to know what Butterfly had brought. âButterfly, what did you bring with you? Can
we have a look?â
âOf course it has to be something amazing! Something that Sophie will find useful!â Butterfly could not
help smiling when she thought of the gift hidden under the wrapping paper.
Her mischievous smile heightened all the other girlsâ curiosity.
âSo, what is it?â Sarah squealed impatiently.
âAh, itâs not for your eyes. This is private! Sophie, Iâm sure Mr. Tristan will love this gift!â
Sophie was not sure how to respond to Butterflyâs teasing remark.
Tristan will love the gift that is meant for me? What does that even mean?
âButterfly, what is it? Iâm even more curious now!â What is it that she is so sure Uncle Tristan will love?
âDo you guys really want to know?â Butterfly smiled impishly.
âYes!â the girls chorused.
Sophie was beginning to feel afraid. Did Butterfly buy me something weird?
âCan I refuse your gift?â
She did not want to receive Butterflyâs gift anymore after seeing her devilish expression.
âNo, you cannot refuse. I took a long time to pick it out. Sophie, do you believe in my taste?â Butterfly
replied, making Sophieâs stomach flutter nervously.
Whatâs wrong with these girls?
Sophie begrudgingly accepted the gift and put it aside to be unwrapped later. She wanted to wait until
she got home before she found out what strange gift Butterfly had given her.
âReally, Butterfly? You teased everyone and got us all so worked up, but you refuse to reveal the gift!
How mean of you!â
Butterfly ignored the other girls. After all, the gift was for Sophie alone. Why are the girls so nosy?
âDonât worry, girls! When itâs your turn to get married, Iâll definitely get each one of you the same gift! I
donât play favorites.â
âOkay, then. If you say so! We look forward to receiving our gifts! Donât let us down!â Cecelia drawled.
Lately, she had been filming a new movie. However, she had taken five days off because of Sophieâs
impending nuptials. The director was not happy with her, but it was her best friendâs wedding. She
would not miss it for the world.
âSophie, let me sing you a song!â Cecelia said abruptly, jumping to her feet.
The other girls were confused.
Cecelia was an actress. She had never before sung in public. Can she even sing?
âSure.â
Cecelia got to her feet and chose a song. It was their favorite song when they were in high school. As
the song began to play, Sophie felt as if she had been transported back to that time years ago.
Cecelia had always been by her side during those years, so, she had not felt so lonely.
Right from the start, Cecelia had already missed her cue.
Sophie softly whispered the words, and Cecelia joined in, finding the rhythm.
So what if there have been so many difficulties in the past? Whatâs important is that Sophie is happy
now, and Iâm glad that Sophie has found happiness.
Ceceliaâs singing left much to be desired, but it was a poignant song, and the girlsâ hearts were moved.
âI canât believe youâre getting married, Sophie!â Cecelia was still in disbelief that her best friend was
about to become a married woman. No matter how reluctant she was to see her friend walk down the
aisle and leave her in her lonely singlehood, she still hoped fervently that Sophie would be happy.
Sophie went over to Cecelia and wrapped her in a tight hug.
âCecelia, Iâm so thankful to have met you when I was at my lowest.â It really was the greatest blessing
of her life.
Cecelia had really made those hard times easier.
âYes, me tooâ¦
It was getting late, and the wedding was happening the very next day. Tristan had come personally to
pick up Sophie. The other four men, too, had come along since they had been together earlier that
night.
Tristan had asked them to fetch the other girls home.
