Chapter 70
The Millionaire And His Billionaire Ex-Wife
Chapter 70
Sarah was quick on the draw, pulling out the dagger.
âAll of you, stop!â
She bellowed, pressing the dagger to her own wrist. âIf you donât let me through, Iâm going to slit my wrist for your viewing pleasure!â
The tussling bodyguards were brought up short by her yell, looking at her as one.
âMiss, this is not the way to go, you canât harm yourself over this. Itâs a losing proposition.â
â
Elon was scared stiff by her move, breaking out in a cold sweat. âIf you were to get hurt, how would I face Mr. and Mrs. Grammer?â
âYouâve seen it, Iâm the second daughter of the Grammer family in S City, the jewel in the crown of the Grammer family. If I were to get hurt, do you think the Grammer family would let everyone here off the h ook? Can you imagine the steep price youâd have to pay?â
Sarah was certain that her status would strike fear into these bodyguards. Giving Elon the side-eye, she snorted, âIf you donât want your world to come crashing down, youâd better step aside.â
âMiss Grammer, why are you doing this?â The lead bodyguard was clearly hesitant. âHow about we both back off? You return home with your men and weâll forget you were here. Howâs that sound?â
âThat wonât cut it! Iâm here to get what I want.â
Sarah casually tossed the dagger to the ground.
At this point, all eyes from the third-floor bodyguards were on Sarah.
In a flash, Elon led his men to overpower the bodyguards on the third floor.
After a neck and neck fight, the tables had turned and Sarah now held all the aces.
âMiss Grammer, I wanted a good faith talk, but youâre playing dirty!â âWhatâs this about playing dirty?â
Sarah sneered. âI call this âoutsmartingâ.â With that, she gestured for her bodyguards to escort the others away.
Suddenly, a low, angry rumble of a manâs voice echoed up from the stairs.
âHuh, quite the âoutsmarting.ââ
Patric ascended the stairs, coldly huffing.
Looking at Sarah, his eyes were filled with repugnance, making no attempt to hide it.
âI suggest you make yourself scarce, Miss Grammer. This villa is too small for your high and mighty presence.â
Sarah spun around, suddenly feeling sheepish. âNo, Patric, let me explainâ¦â
âExplain what? Why you and your men stormed into my villa in broad daylight? Bullied my people?â
Patric shot her a look of distaste. âI donât need any irrelevant people in my house. If you donât leave, Iâll have you shown the door.â
âPatric! How dare you call me irrelevant!â
Sarah stomped her foot, seething with rage. âIâm your future wife. Why on earth would you treat me like this? I trailed after you all the way from S City to Frant City. Doesnât that move you even in the slightest?
Chapter 70
âDespite knowing our engagement, knowing that I get jealous, you still treat that harlot Grace so well!
Only when it comes to me, you canât be bothered! You turned down a chance to see me just to have lunch with her in the office! What do I have to do for you to accept me? Should I rip out my heart for you to see?!
âAnd even now, youâre harboring another woman in your villa! Patric, am I even in your heart?â
Sarahâs eyes quickly turned red.
She bit her lip and lunged at him.
With swift agility, Patric sidestepped, leaving Sarah grasping at thin air.
âHave some self-respect.â
âSelf-respect? Have you forgotten that Iâm your bona fide fiancee? Itâs only natural for me to show up at my fianceâs house! If I wish to embrace my fiance, who dares to say no!â
Sarah was so livid she felt like she was about to blow a gasket, reiterating her status over and over.
Patricâs face was a shade of ill-disguised disgust.
âSeems like youâve forgotten how we got engaged. If you want to make a fuss about it, I donât mind jogging your memory.â
Sarah was instantly choked up, her face flushing white then red.
âAh, remember now?â Patric glanced at his wristwatch, âI have other matters to attend to. See Miss Grammer out, immediately.â
âYes.â
After his rebuke, Sarah recoiled guiltily but seeing him adamant about driving her away, she regained her nerve.
âFine, Iâll leave, but Iâm taking the woman from your villa with me!â
Patricâs face turned stony, his patience running thin, âThereâs no one else in my villa, let alone any
woman.â
Sarah scoffed, âHedda Mellis, the older sister of Nancy and the heiress of the Mellis Group, is she not here? Iâm taking her with me today!â
âWhat Hedda? Never seen her, your accusations need to be backed up with evidence.â
Patric smirked, signaling more bodyguards to come over, âShow her the door.â
âI have every right to take away other women from my fianceâs home! Today, youâre going to open.
this room!â
âSarah, my patience with you has its limits,â Patric squinted his eyes, a hint of menace seeping into his gaze.
âRegardless of what you say today, Iâm taking Hedda with me! Thereâs no room for negotiation on
this!â
Sarah held her head high, showing a steadfast resolve for the first time.
Patric snickered, âWhether thereâs room for negotiation isnât your call. If you refuse to leave, I donât mind calling off the engagement right now.â
âWhat?!â
Sarah stag gered back in shock. âYouâre seriously ready to call off our engagement for the dame in the room!â

She was livid, letting out an ear-splitting shriek.
âDream on! Our Grammer family may not be as mighty as your Smith family, but we still hold our heads high in S City. The breakup of an engagement is no small potatoes; itâs not a decision you can make single-handedly!â
âWhy donât you give it a whirl then?â Patric challenged as he unlocked his phone, dialing up Alex.
âWhat on earth have I done to warrant such cold-heartedness from you?â
Tears welled up in Sarah Grammerâs eyes. âAll for Grace? Sheâs been through the divorce wringer, lacking any noteworthy background or clout. What benefits can a woman of her standing bring to you?
Youâve actually fallen head over heels for her?â
âThereâs no comparing you and her, donât make a fool of yourself.
âIn that case, Iâm afraid I have some bad news for you.â
A malicious grin spread across Sarahâs face as she seemingly feigned regret.
âThat tart youâre so fond of was in a plane crash last night. Sheâs six feet under now. Howâs that for a curveball?â
She cackled with delight, her joy doubling as she noticed the shock register on Patricâs face.
âIsnât it a crying shame? Your prized Grace is now just a cold, lifeless body!â
Patric didnât buy it, his face turning ashen.
âImpossible.â
âThe truth is staring you right in the face, whether you believe it or not.â
Seeing the pain etched on his face, Sarah felt a surge of jealousy.
Why should that bi tch be the recipient of all his tenderness and adoration? Even in death, Patric wouldnât change his tune about her?
âIâll let you know, even if youâre hell-bent on breaking off our engagement today, Iâm taking Hedda
with me!â
A series of clicks from high heels echoed around the room, abruptly breaking the tense silence.
A languid yet penetrating female voice rang out from downstairs.
âI heard some tattle-tale spread rumors about my demise. I wondered which cur was barking up the wrong tree, but seeing itâs Miss Grammer, Iâm hardly taken aback.â
