Chapter 52
The Millionaire And His Billionaire Ex-Wife
Late at night.
Nancy was sent to the hospital for medical treatment.
The doctor said that she had two ribs fractured and countless other injuries, big and small. Fortunately, her life was not at risk.
Edgar sat alone on the bench outside the operating room. No one knew what he was thinking about.
After the accident, he asked Tim to inform the Mellis family.
Jack and Emma didnât rush over until dawn.
âOh, my poor daughter. How could this happen?
In the corridor, she could hear Emma crying from a distance, but she couldnât squeeze out a tear.
Instead, she was gloating.
On the contrary, Jack walked up to Edgar with a sad face. Seeing that Edgar was serious, comforted him.
he Edgar didnât respond to their comfort and said politely, âMr. and Mrs. Mellis, please sit down.â Jack was unwilling to give up and asked, âMr. Fallen, whatâs going on? How could Nancy be injured like this?
Who did this?
Her eldest daughter had a car accident and now this happened to Nancy. He suspected that someone was deliberately going against the Mellis family. Or was he so unlucky recently?
Edgar was silent for a moment before replying. âTim has already gone to investigate.â
Seeing that he didnât like to talk, Jack was too embarrassed to say anything more. He sat down on the bench next to him and waited.
Not long after she sat down, the lights in the operating room went out.
The doctor came out to say that the operation was very successful. Apart from the fact that she could not move freely during this period of time and was fine, she could already be transferred to a normal VIP ward.
The three people in the corridor followed him to the ward.
Nancy was wrapped in thick gauze. She opened her swollen eyes with difficulty and began to cry as soon as she saw Edgar.
âEdgar, if it werenât for you, I might have died or been raped by those bastards. Edgar, I really canât live without you. Can you stay here with me?â
Nancy held his hand weakly. She didnât expect that she would face the music.
She had sent a text message to Edgar to stimulate him and let him know that Grace was a whore so he would focus only on her.
However, she didnât expect that she would suffer this time, and that text messages would save her life.
Edgar sat down by her bed and hummed in agreement.
Seeing that he was not enthusiastic at all, Nancy couldnât help but be depressed.â Edgar, canât you say something to comfort me? Donât you love me just because Iâm ugly now?â
Before Edgar could answer, Jack winked at her and said, âNancy, donât be so childish. How could Mr.
Fallen not love you? Who set you up this time? Tell me, and I will definitely seek justice for you.â
âL.â
When this matter was mentioned, Nancy seemed to have thought of some bad memories and began to sob again.
âI only remember that Grace said she wanted to see me. I took a taxi from home and was knocked out on the way. When I woke up, it was in that small room. It was so dark inside that I couldnât see anything. Someone hit me and kicked me. They also said that Grace paid them and asked them to torture me to deathâ¦
âIâm so scared, Iâm really scaredâ¦
She curled up into a ball. As soon as she thought of the despairing pain, her whole body began to tremble, and she looked very pitiful and helpless.â
Hearing this, Jack was furious and looked at Edgar.
âYouâre Nancyâs fiance, Mr. Fallen. Youâre not going to turn a blind eye to this, are you? No matter what, it has something to do with Grace. Sheâs humiliating the Fallen Group by bullying Nancy! You have to help Nancy.â
Jack was an old fox in the business world.
Knowing that Grace was under the protection of Tom, the Mellis family knew that they couldnât do anything to her and could only ask Edgar to stand out for them.
Edgar pursed his lips and his eyes darkened. âIf Nan is really wronged, I will definitely help her, but the premise is that she canât hide anything from me. She must tell me everything that happened.â
Nancy was stunned. She was the one who made up the whole story.
Edgar was a shrewd person. As long as she said something wrong, it would arouse his suspicion.
She could only fool him and contact Sarah later to discuss countermeasures.
Thinking of this, she covered her head with both hands with a painful expression.
âMy head hurts! I canât remember anything..
Seeing this, Jack said, âNancy has just woken up. Itâs not good for her to recover. Why donât we go out first and let her have a good rest?â
Edgar nodded in agreement with a cold face.
As soon as the group of people turned around and were about to leave, the door of the ward suddenly opened, and two handsome and strong men took the lead in opening the way.
Jack and his wife were puzzled when they saw a strange man suddenly break in.
Two strong men stood at the door, one on the left and the other on the right. Then Grace, who was in high heels and had extremely beautiful red lips, came in.
Seeing that it was her, Emma, who had been silent behind Jack, was stunned.
âDidnât she know that they were discussing how to deal with her?
âHow dare she come in openly? Sheâs too arrogant!â
Emma was very unhappy with her attitude. She added fuel to the fire, âHoney, look at how arrogant she is. Is she here to see if your daughter is dead?â
Jackâs face darkened when he heard that. âYou came at the right time. Weâll let go of the fact that you deliberately hurt my daughter!â
Next to her, Edgar just stood there quietly, but his proud height made it difficult for others to ignore his existence.
â
Grace glanced at him subconsciously, only to see that his eyes had been fixed on her since she came in. The meaning in his deep black eyes was unclear.
She withdrew her gaze and looked at Jack again. A smile appeared on her red lips. âMr. Mellis, you are right. Your daughter and I do have some scores to settle, but itâs not what âWhat do you mean?â Jack asked suspiciously.
you said.â
Nancy had already suffered twice from Grace. When she saw that Grace dared to break into her ward in a highâprofile way, her heart trembled, and she subconsciously shrank behind Jack. âDad, save me.
She wants to hurt me! She must want to hurt me. Iâm afraid. I donât want to see herâ¦â She cried and complained, in a bad mood.
Jack was a little depressed seeing his daughter bullied like this.
âThis is a private ward. My daugliterâs mood is unstable. Please go out.â
âMr. Mellis, donât worry. Iâm just here to bring her a gift.â
Grace smiled more brightly and clapped her hands gently.
A group of people came in one after another and hung the sixteen banners neatly on the wall opposite the bed where Nancy was.
âThis is all my encouragement for Miss Mellis. I wish you a speedy recovery, Miss Mellis.â
She smiled and said kindly, âBy the way, Miss Mellis, you said that the murder has something to do with me, you can come to me with evidence. Iâll be there at any time.â
After that, she didnât want to stay any longer. She turned around and left with the two bodyguards.
Seeing that she was about to leave, Edgar followed her out of the ward with a gloomy face.
At this moment, Nancy, Jack, and his wife were so focused on the 16 flags that they didnât notice that Edgar had followed them.
When Nancy saw what was written on the banner, she was pissed off.
