Chapter 225
The Millionaire And His Billionaire Ex-Wife
Chapter 225
Ederâs brain was blank.
âEdgar?â
He had never thought that this name would come out of Graceâs mouth during her moments of vulnerability. Was she calling him Edgar?
Did this prove that she actually had at least some feelings for him?
He was confused and tangled for a long time before he finally decided to summon the courage to speak.
âGrace, actually Iâ¦â
Before he could finish speaking. Grace angrily tugged at his cuff.
âEdgar! If you lie to me again, Iâll dig your grave, fish your corpse out, and have it whipped three hundred times!â
âSo violentâ¦.
The words he originally wanted to say retreated at the back of his throat.
He sat down on the edge of the bed, thinking.
Grace didnât love him anymore. He knew it all along.
As the dead ex-husband, his only role seemed to be the punching bag for when she needed someone
to blame.
If Grace found out that he had fabricated a huge lie to deceive her, she would hate him and never give him a second chance, right?
His heart felt heavy as he silently sat on the edge of the bed and watched Grace sleeping.
He had spent all his time begging for this engagement to happen because his biggest regret was divorcing her on the spot back then. He was afraid to lose her again.
Since confessing would make things worse, then heâd have to let her accept the fact that Edgar was gone forever.
He would start over with her as Eder!
Grace slept uneasy, her eyebrows tightly knitted so that even in her sleep, she looked fierce.
Eder carefully smoothed the furrow between her eyebrows with his hand and leaned over to gently kiss her forehead.
Then he went to the bathroom and twisted the towel to help her wipe her face and hands. Finally, he went to the closet to get a new quilt and made himself a sleeping space on the sofa.
The whole night was of Eder having a hazy sleep.
He was awakened by the sound of the door being unlocked.
Before Grace woke up, he lightly walked out the door.
Uncle Alfred was outside the door. His eyes narrowed in a smile. âHave you and Ms. Smith managed to get along last night, Sir? Did you twoâ¦â
He made a gesture of his thumbs facing each other.
Ederâs expression stiffened. He ignored that topic. âWhen Ms. Smith wakes up, let her have breakfast with Grandfather before leaving. If she doesnât want to, donât force her.â
âYes, sir.â
Eder first went to the next room to wash up, and then left the villa afterward. Just as he reached the door, he heard a voice from around the corner.
He listened carefully. It sounded like Eric.
The other one seemed to be Fifteen.
âTifteen, youâre here too early. Ms. Grace is not awake yet. You might have to wait a little longer.â
âItâs alright. Iâll wait. But she didnât drink last night again, did she? She already drank a lot at the banquet, so if she had more, she probably got drunk again. She really thinks that sheâs the same strong drinker as in the past.â
Fifteen sighed deeply.
Eric felt strange. âWhat happened to her?â
Fifteen hesitated. âItâs all in the past. We have orders to never speak a word about it ever again or it would be deducted from our salary.â
âHey, tell me. Itâs just the two of us here, and I donât run into her often, so she wonât find out. And Iâll keep quiet.
Eder was about to leave but when he listened further, he walked back to find out more.
Fifteen: âWell do you remember six months ago when Mr. Fallen died? Since the day he was buried, she locked herself in his room and did not eat nor drink for three days. She cried her heart out and even drank all the strong liquor on the wine cabinet on an empty stomach! Her body couldnât take it at all, and her stomach almost burned through. Since then, her physical health deteriorated,â
He was shocked.
âMs. Graceâ¦she actuallyâ¦
âSigh. Well, she is a stubborn person. In fact, she really cared for Mr. Fallen but was too stubborn to admit it. She could not accept his death for a long time and had a difficult break down. Anyway, itâs all in the past.â
Eric was puzzled: âReally? But I heard that Ms. Grace is romantically interested with Mr. Grammer recently.â
âMr. Grammer? Fifteen was puzzled. âWhere did you hear that from? Apart from Mr. Fallen, she had never taken any interest in other men.â
Eder did not listen to what the two of them said next.
His whole mind was buzzing.
Fifteen said that Grace really cared about him.
Because of his death, Grace cried for days.
She even drank so much that she almost burned her stomachâ¦
It turned out that the person he loved also actually loved him back.
When she said that there was someone she liked, it wasnât actually Adrain. Did she mean that she liked him?
Ederâs whole body was shaking. His mood could no longer be described in human words!
He had never been so surprised like this.
He had never, for once, even dared to imagine that Grace would return his feelingsâ¦
With red eyes, he turned around to enter the villa to find Grace,
He couldnât wait to tell her that he was still alive!
A figure suddenly appeared in front of him.
âBoss, where are you going?â
Eder pushed him away. Tm telling her the truth.â
âBoss, have you figured it out? Last night was your best chance to confess, but you missed it and played a show in front of her. She is in the worst mood right now. She probably doesnât even want to see you for a while. Do you think she can forgive you if you go right now?â
No.
If he confessed now, it would most probably only backfire.
Maybe in a fit of anger, Grace would even draw a clear line between them, and it would be the kind wherein she would never talk to him again.
But after finding out all of that, he didnât want to wait for a minute!
He suppressed the ecstasy in his heart and began to analyze and think about this matter rationally. Eric was also thinking of a way to help him. âYou can pretend to have amnesia and make her feel sorry for you. When you find a chance, tell her that your memory is simply came back. That way, she wonât be angry.â
It could be an option.
Eder was silent for a while, but in the end, he shook his head with a cold face. âForget it. Grace is too smart. If I actually do that and she finds out, this matter will only become more complicated, and then I might become an actual corpse.â
He paused and continued, âWe still have to find an opportunity to explain it to her as soon as possible before she is consumed completely angered.â
After pondering for a long time, he fructed Eric, âTomorrow night, Invite Grace to my villa and tell
her that I want to have dinner with her.â
Eric wasnât too sure about the idea. âWill she even come?â
âYes.â
Ederâs dark eyes were held a firm determination. âGrace has always been suspicious. What happened last night will not offset her suspicion. I can guess that she will investigate privately in the next few days.â
Eric nodded quickly, feeling that it made sense.
They really couldnât delay it then. If Grace checked the evidence and found out that Eder was hiding the truth from her, it would be a bigger mess!
After arranging everything. Eder finally walked out of the villa.
But after just a few steps, he remembered something and turned back.
âThatâs not enough. Find another whip. It should be rougher. The kind that could whip up blood and an injury that looks terrifying.â
The Milluare and His Fallisiaire Ex w
Eric grinned. âBoss! Youâre too harsh on yourself!â
How could he not be if he had to get his wife back?
He had mistakenly missed the best time to tell her everything last night. If Grace would still want to do something to him tomorrow night, then it meant that she would be willing to forgive him. That was how she was. If you let her beat you, then her anger will disappear.
But if she didnât want to even bother with anything, then this matter could only get harder.
