Chapter 201
The Millionaire And His Billionaire Ex-Wife
Chapter 201
This was the first time Joan had encountered such a shameless man, leaving her speechless with shock. Grace burst into laughter upon hearing it. Joan was used to being arrogant and lawless. But now she met Edgar.
âGraceâ¦â She pouted at Grace, her eyes watery, wanting to continue her complaints but afraid of revealing her true gender.
Graceâs expression turned serious as she looked at her. âJoan, he didnât say anything. He can only listen to my orders. You live with me, eat and use my things. Donât you think itâs too much to attack my people?â
Joan was taken aback. Grace continued. âThis is not the Knight family. Although I treat you as my sister, I wonât spoil you without boundaries.â
âGraceâ¦â
âTomorrow, Iâm going to 5 City. Iâll buy you a plane ticket. Come with me.
âAh! Leaving tomorrow? I havenât had enough fun with you for three days! Graceâ
Grace ignored her coquettish behavior. What if she didnât bring joan back to the Knight family? Did she want to leave her at the Cloud View Villa and spend two days alone with Edgar?
âYouâve been away for a few days. Itâs time for you to go back,â Grace said, pushing Joanâs shoulder, a little displeased. âGo upstairs, change your clothes, and then come down. Wear a nightgown. Who are you trying to seduce?â
Joan pouted and reluctantly went upstairs.
As Joan disappeared, Grace turned her gaze back to Edgar. He seemed genuinely happy, with a smile on his face even reaching his eyebrows. Grace sneered at him. âDonât you think she looks pretty in her nightgown?â
Edgar raised his hand innocently, surrendering. Iâm innocent! I didnât even pay attention to what color she was wearing. Besides, in my eyes, you have the best figure. I only enjoy looking at you.â Enough of these tiresome words, Grace thought. She changed the subject, âAre you bored comparing flirt skills with a twenty-year-old girl?â
Edgar pointed at the shattered glass on the ground. âMy crystal glass. If you break it, you have to pay.â
Edgar looked at her dotingly, âOkay, Iâll pay, is ten times enough?â
âBarely.â
Grace raised her eyebrows, her tone a little arrogant.
Edgar affectfonately looked at Graceâs bright face and mirrored her smile in his heart. He had the urge to pull her into his arms and never let go, but he may not have that chance.
The following day, Grace took the day off from work, a rare occurrence. She stayed at home, watching TV shows while attending to business matters on her phone. Edgar washed the fruit and sat on the small sofa next to her, quietly peeling an
Joan dragged Eleven and her bodyguards to play on a swing in the courtyard. Peaceful days always passed quickly.
The next day, Grace and Joan packed their bags and bid farewell. Edgar conscientiously helped

Grace carry her suitcase downstairs, while Twelve carried Joanâs luggage.
Patric was worried and wanted to accompany them back to S City. They would meet at the airport.
Edgar offered to drive them, but Grace declined.
âIâm going to 5 City for a few days. You donât have to go to Fallen Group. Belinda is there, so it shouldnât be a problem for you to stay at the villa for two days. Iâll leave Fifteen. Seventeen and Nineteen here.â
âYouâll only be gone for two days, so bring two more people and leave Nineteen at the villa. Iâm not going anywhere, and I donât need so many people watching over me. The five of them together wonât be able to stop me.â
Grace contemplated for a moment and realized he was right, so they left Nineteen behind. Joan had already sat in the car, waiting with a gloomy expression on her face. After Grace finished her arrangements, she went to open the car door.
âWhat are you doing Joan started to say but was abruptly pulled into Edgarâs embrace.
âBe careful on the road and remember to eat well,â Edgar said.
14
âMmm.â Grace responded in a light and expressionless tone. It was just a couple of days away, not a life or death separation.
But she refrained from making any sarcastic remarks to Edgar. She released herself from his embrace, opened the car door, and got in. As the car started, Edgar stood there, his black eyes fixed on the direction the car was moving away.
Nineteen
Nineteen stood beside him, observing his focused expression. After a few moments, reminded him, âMr. Fallen, Miss has already left. Itâs winter, and itâs cold outside. Youâre still injured. Please go back
Edgar remained silent, unmoving. Nineteen couldnât persuade him and had no choice but to go
inside.
Grace met Patric at the airport, and they boarded the plane together. Patric brought a small blanket to help her, and Grace accepted without refusing. However, her gaze was fixed on the window throughout the flight.
She couldnât explain it, but as soon as she boarded the plane, an uneasy feeling washed over her, causing her eyelids to twitch.
Patric also noticed her discomfort and handed her an oral solution. âPerhaps itâs because you havenât been back to S City for a long time.â
Grace couldnât understand why she felt so agitated. âMaybe.â
5 City was far from Frant City, so by the time they disembarked, it was already evening. Grace arranged for Joan to be sent back to the Knight family first before heading to Patricâs villa in S City. The villa was conveniently located near La Quinta Ville, where Logan resided.
She had a meeting with Patric and Beven, spending hours making plans for the next day. After finalizing everything, she rubbed her shoulders lazily.
Now, all that was left was to wait for tomorrow!
After freshening up, she returned to her room and climbed into bed. Perhaps due to exhaustion from the journey, she fell asleep within minutes.
However, her sleep was restless.
She had a peculiar dream. The buildings around her were engulfed in flames, cra ckling with

intensity. Amidst the fire stood a tall man, his body covered in blood and scars.
Although his back was turned to her, something about him seemed familiar. Then, as he sta ggered and turned around, the firelight revealed his handsome face.
Could it be Edgar?!
His face was smeared with blood, and traces of it still dripped from the corner of his mouth. Sorrow and pain filled his black eyes. The blood on his body suggested a recent fierce battle, and he weakly fell to his knees.
âGrace, Graceâ
â
Grace woke up from her deep slumber and found herself sitting on the edge of her bed. She glanced at her phone to check the time, discovering it was two in the morning.
The vividness of the dream lingered in her mind, haunting her thoughts. Edgarâs desperate and unwilling cries for her echoed within her. It felt unnervingly real
Feeling restless and unsettled. Grace couldnât shake off the sense of unease. She reached for her phone and dialed Edgarâs number, hoping to find some solace in hearing his voice.
The phone connected, but there was no response from the other end. Why wasnât he picking up?
Growing increasingly anxious, Grace dialed again. And again. And again. On her fourth attempt, the call finally connected.
A low, familiar voice came through the line, âWhatâs wrong?â
