Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 555
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
Sylviaâs POV:
I walked over and tapped Floraâs shoulder from behind.
Flora was so startled that she nearly jumped. Patting her chest to calm herself down, she asked, âSylvia, whatâre you doing here?â
âI could ask you the same thing,â I put my arm around her shoulder and said with a smile.
Flora snorted and relayed everything to me.
It turned out that Ashley was temporarily sent here with the other vampires after she was rescued from Geoffreyâs clutches.
But none of these vampires seemed to like Ashley so they bullied her a lot.
Flora was in the middle of a mission and happened to pass by. Seeing that Ashley was in trouble, she rescued her.
âNow, she has retreated to the corner and hasnât moved a muscle. She has been in a daze this whole time.â Flora pouted and threw her hands up helplessly. âI just told her a joke, but she didnât laugh. Itâs like she canât hear me!â
âI see.â
I sighed and slowly approached Ashley. Squatting down next to her, I gently called her name.
But she didnât respond. She seemed to be completely immersed in her own world.
Rufus had once told me that Geoffrey had forced Ashley to drink poison so she couldnât speak.
I took out the antidote I found in Geoffreyâs secret room yesterday and handed it to her. âTake it. This is the cure for your throat.â
Even then, Ashley remained indifferent. It was as though she was a lifeless hull.
I had no choice but to put the antidote into her mouth myself. Then, I raised her chin to help her swallow it.
This whole time, Ashley didnât bat an eyelash. She behaved obediently and didnât resist at all.
âHow are you feeling? Can you speak now?â I asked softly.
She stayed silent. I couldnât tell whether the antidote had worked or not.
âYour motherâs name is Joi, right?â I had no choice but to bring up the topic of her family.
As expected, Ashley finally came to life at the mention of her mother. Her eyelashes fluttered slightly, and her eyes regained clarity. She looked at me and asked, âYou know my mother?â
Ashleyâs voice was extremely hoarse. Her throat was probably dry as a desert since she hadnât spoken in so long.
I fetched her a bottle of water and said gently, âHere. Drink this first.â
Ashley cautiously stretched out her hand, but paused midair. After hesitating for a while, she withdrew her hand.
âItâs clean. Donât worry.â I smiled at her and pressed the bottle to her palm.
Finally, Ashley looked convinced and took a sip of the water.
While she drank, I told her about the pact I made with her mother and the exchange of hostages.
Upon hearing what I said, Ashleyâs eyes lit up somewhat. This seemed to breathe life into her because her voice suddenly became clear. âHow is she?â
âSheâs okay. Sheâs just worried about you. But now you need to make a choice. Do you want to go back to the castle or help us exchange the hostages? Donât worry. If you choose to go back to the castle, Iâll send someone to escort you out of the pack. I donât want to make things difficult for you.â When I finished speaking, I looked at her quietly, waiting for her answer expectantly. Ashley looked almost exactly like her mother. In a trance, I could almost see the woman sitting in front of the window.
In fact, I highly doubted Ashley would agree to go with us. After all, she had no reason to help us, and the werewolves at the border had been extremely unkind to her.
So it came as a surprise when Ashley suddenly nodded. âIâll help you exchange the hostages. Iâm very familiar with the place you are going. I can help you if need be.â
âThink it over first, Ashley. I donât want to force you,â I said seriously.
âIâve made up my mind. If it werenât for you guys, Iâd probably still be suffering a lot now.â Ashley lowered her head and looked at the water bottle in her hand silently.
âMe, too! Iâll go with you.â Flora chimed in. She put her hands on my shoulders and shook me, as though she was trying to knock some sense into me. âSylvia, Iâm going with you.â
âNo, youâre not. You stay here. Thereâs still a lot that needs to be dealt with.â I shook my head decisively. Where we were going held too much uncertainty. I didnât want to put Flora in danger.
âIf I donât go with you, Iâll be depressed here!â Flora whined, trying to squeeze out a tear or two.
I felt a headache and hurriedly pulled Warren over. âPlease convince Flora not to go with us. Itâs dangerous there.â
Warren seemed to be at a loss. He awkwardly handed a handkerchief to Flora. âLetâs go together. Iâll protect you.â
Flora stopped crying in an instant. She took the handkerchief and wiped her non-existent tears and said sincerely, âWarren, youâre the best.â
I was speechless. I shouldnât have brought Warren into this.
In the end, I had no choice but to agree to let Flora come with us.
âFine. Youâll be tasked with taking good care of Ashley. Donât act without permission and keep yourself and Ashley safe.â I reminded Flora over and over again.
Flora followed me obediently. âOkay, okay. I know.â
