Chapter 70
Stronger
Grayson POV 2
POV
I had been gone from her for four nights now. Sleeping without her was hard, hoping she and the baby
were safe but staying focused was harder.
They had an encampment hidden between my land and the Waxing pride pack, Darren and I decided
to come at the from both sides and work our way towards one other.
naxe.
âWeapons check,â I called out. I grabbed an axe.
Most of my men used guns right now. Some of them preferred to be shifted. I wanted something a little
more medieval.
Quick and easy deaths didnât come to those who hunted children. Especially my child.
They checked their battles, and their bows, they sharpened their claws and we headed out. Inching our
way closer and closer to the camp.
The silence echoed in my ears every settling of dirt, the pounding of my heart., Enzo circled in my
head.
Iâll let him lose eventually, give him the joy of dwindling their numbers. He was just drooling at the
chance.
Before I have the order I closed my eyes and reached for her across the land finding her in the home I
built.
ââIâll come home
âGrayson ready?â Darren asked me through the coms.
âReady,â I sent back
âMove out!â
âMove out!â
We ordered.
The fifty warriors I had with me ran out of the woods and we enclosed them.
They were surprised and unprepared.
I didnât rush and I stalked forward taking out those who were running. One stalky man was tuning
straight at me and I swung the axe through his arm like butter.
Another grabbed my back and so I rammed myself into a tree. They seemed to find me as a target
because just after two bumârushed me. I swung the axe flat on oneâs head as hard as I could mama
heâd and broke his n*eck. The other stilled in horror before I tossed him into the ground like a rag doll.
Darren wasnât far I could sense him. A man flew past me as well only Darren had the strength, but then
it clicked.
Her littlest brother was already covered half in blood. Eyes bright yellow and crazed. He wanted blood
and I gave it to him.
Matt and Leon were at the pack defending my wife, I need more strength and James needed an outlet.
Two of their wolves ran from him screaming and crying. One lept for a gun and I ran for him but James
punched him before he got there. His claws stabbed into the back of his prey.
He turned on me and I felt as if Iâd have to fight him but only for a second before he tackled someone
behind me ripping her throat open.
I looked around sniffing out any Alpha blood I didnât know.
They still hadnât shown their faces.
âYou all truly follow a man who wonât fight beside you!â I goaded them.
They like minnows took the bait eagerly,
âDonât speak of our alpha!â One of them shouted as he ran at me crazily. I punched him and he went
down in one
blow.
An arrow flew past me and someone else dropped behind me.
âGrayson watch your ten,â Darren called kicking another wolf in the ribs. âHad to aggravate them,â he
shook his head-
at me.
He grabbed the axe from my hand and threw it at a transformed wolf that was crouching down on one
of his warriors.
âTheyâll fight worse. You know thatâ I scoffed and grabbed the wolf nipping at me by their jaw and it
popped as I
dislocated it.
Enzo growled and I got a whiff of a higherâranking wolf. Not the alpha still, I walked around waiting him
out.
It was their Delta.
He circled me for a second or two. He was not a big man. Not at all, but he certainly felt he was.
âYou think youâre so high and mighty. Youâll fall,â he told me.
He swung at me and I dodged him, he was slightly crazed. He seemed to take what I said about his
previous alpha to
heart.
âIâll leave you gutted like I did that sigma,â I spat at him.
A pack without morals, I had no sympathy for them.
He swung again with his claws extended. I punched his arm he shook it off.
âGray!â Darren tossed me the axe.
The wolf nipped at me menacingly drooling with anger and adrenaline.
I squared off with him. He kicked his leg up at me and I sliced his hip. He spun and swung his farm arm
at my head and I cut his chest. 1
He lunged at me and his knuckles screwed on side of the axe. I lunged at him swinging and dragging
the axe down the
left side of his chest.
We danced and I cut him here and there until he was bleeding out. He panted and he dropped to his
knees.
He knew he was a dead man now. He spit out a shot of blood at me.
Is it worth it?â I asked him. âTo fall for a man you know is a tyrant?â
He laughed. âBetter than an idiot,â
I swing the axe out his head gone in one sweep.
James ran past me a woman cried out in rage and charged me. The Lang of guilt knowing the Delta Iâd
just liked meant something to her personally. D
James jumped on her and dislocated her arm before he ran off again..
I heard a howl and they started leaving. Our warriors started chasing them off making sure they went a
long way before stopping.
I looked around. Things were on fire, broken, shattered. I didnât know where my brotherâinâlaw was.
âYou toyed with him,â Aarron came up to me with a black eye and held his ribs.
âI did,â I did not hide it.
âThis is where we are then? Playing with our prey because of the threats of smaller men?â He
challenged me.
âTheyâre threatening your Luna and heir,â I stepped up to him tightening my grip on the axe.
âYou never would have acted this way before,â he changed his tone as if to reason with me.
âI defended our pack. I defend one of the women on our lands and they retaliate. Speak to me as if Iâve
lost it one more time and find out what happens,â I raised my chin at him daring him to make a move.
He turned away stomping off to look over the wounded.
Iâm sure he was insulted still that I had questioned him, but I think the worse wound was that of me
questioning Elizebeth. Aarron loved his wife, my doubting her had soured him against me for now.
She was with my wife, Elizebeth had refused to leave her Lunas side while I was away. She knew I
hadnât been person I had done my duty to question everyone when a leak was found.
Aarron had seemed to forget that.
âThey didnât leave much,â Darren told me. âBut theyâve definitely got their tails between their legs right
now,â he smiled broadly.
âThank you for helping me defend my family,â he shook my hand.
âThe offer still stands. Now that your babe is here if you wish to send your wife and son to my Lunas
home pack for safety Iâll fly them on my helicopter,â I reminded him.
She wonât hear of it. Iâd do it if sheâd let me, but I wouldnât say a word if it to Taylor,â he forewarned me.
âNoted,â I nodded smiling at the similarities in our wives.
That young one needs to learn control by the way,â he looked over at James who stood off dazed but
smiling.
âHeâs got the alpha blood Iâm learning itâs a blessing and a curse. Annette says itâs hard to explain but
at times itâs as if your mind turns against itself. He seems to be struggling immensely with it,â I told my
fellow alpha.
âI suppose it would be. Perhaps a helping hand would guide him,â he commented.
âI think heâs beginning to trust me,â I hoped aloud.
âJames!â I called over to him. He came right away no ire in his eyes at all.
âHelp go over all the warriors and then weâll pack up what we need. Thank you for help today,â I nodded
to him. The way he behaved was concerning but he seemed proud of his defensive abilities.
âIâm doing this for her,â he told me.
âThat I understand,â I clapped him on the back and we headed off.
**Weâre both safe
