Chapter 123
Stronger
Graysons POV:
We got there too late of course. 1 ripped the door off the hinges; it was all I could do.
We went to Seattle. I went to the hotel, a wolf owned hotel. I brought Lilli and she was able to pick up
Annetteâs scent
âShe was here but itâs too faint for her to be here still,â she didnât meet my eyes when she told me.
If I didnât know heâd shoot me onsight Iâd march up to my fathers ivory palace and break his bones until
he told me. It would leave my son all alone and I wonât let that happen.
Luckily the owner of the hotel stayed in his place of business and he must be friends with Marcus to
have lent him a whole floor. I walked into his office and took off my coat and Matt and Brian stood at his
doors.
*You know Marcus Cathal?â I asked him as he glared at me but the fear, the fear floated in his eyes.
âIâm a member of the Waxing sea pack,â he growled at me.
âI know,â I rolled up my sleeve. âWho do you think gave me my proof,â I slid my phone over my wifeâs
determined but shaken expression, froze frame for him to see.
âMy wife, the mother of my child, was taken from me,â I walked over to his side of his desk, a bead of
sweat trickling down his neck. âMarcus Cathal took her and all of those people who have helped him
keep her from me from our baby,â I leaned down next to his face and he shuddered as I bared my
teeth. âWill have to pay the price,â
âI didnât know he had a woman with him I never wouldâve allowed that, I swear. I didnât know you had a
child. I wouldnât do that to a family to such a smallâAaahhhâAAHHHH,â he screamed as I slammed my
fist onto his hand that was laid over his desk.
I
I felt the little bones snap piece by piece when my fist came down again. âYou know where he went,â I
demanded. âIf you want a functional hand for the rest of your life tell me.
âHe went south, heâs borrowing a vacation keep from an enemy of your wifeâs,â he explained. âShe
marked the son,â he looked up at me holding his swollen and purple hand.
Thank you,â I smiled and stood up putting my coat back on. âIâll leave you to your alpha,â
âNo! No you must defend me I gave you what you want,â he whimpered.
âAnd yet I am not the one you have to answer to,â I smiled as I saw the realization in his eyes.
Marcus had promised him something Iâm sure, the land of Seattle, some of my fathers empire, anything
he had to give that wasnât his at all. This man was one of many whoâd fall to pain in the name of a
coward who never sullied his
hands.
We got to the keep and it was a ghost town but again Lillianna told me. âIâve got her scent,â she looked
over at me as
we walked down the stairs to the basement. The cell silver bars and her scent were all over it, enough
for me to smell IL.
We sat there looking at it the horror of what she had survived these last few months. Charlie walked up
the stairs and Ella followed him but James stayed his eyes open to the place sheâd been kept.
The window to the cell was covered and the glass was new that must have been how she had
escaped. The bed was nice, everything was nice but it wasnât her taste in any way.
There was a closet of clothes and I smiled to myself remembering the nightgown I had seen her in.
Sheâd refused to take his pretty things and refused to be his by any means. I went to the sheets and
grabbed a handful and smelled them. She was here but for the second time in one week we werenât
there on time.
âGrayson, her scent itâs up the staircase too,â Lilli ran up the stairs following the smell of running after a
ghost.
I knew she wouldnât find her anywhere nearby all I could ask for was a little bit of hope. Lilli ran up the
stairs and James followed their thinking echoing down to me.
I took one last look around the room and then I grabbed the cell door my palms hissed and sizzled at
the touch of the silver but I ripped the door off the hinges.
I followed them and to my surprise they were out in forest. âShe left Grayson she left but I donât know if
she was with someone or not, I can smell her with a mother girl and man but I donât know them.
The dozens of bullet casings mixed in with the dirt scared me but it also told me she didnât leave on
Marcusâs terms.
There was another scent lingering in all of this. I didnât want to admit it was his, but he had a hand in
this.
**What happened?
**what do I do, tell me what to do netta
**where did you go?
I hated that I couldnât tell the truth. I wanted to look at it all around me but my head was spinning with
all the
different turns I had taken in the last week and half.
The unbelievable bliss of seeing her on that screen and then missing her like sand in the wind twice
now. I donât think she left on good terms and I donât know where she would go but I did know that sheâd
tell me. Some way sheâd tell me.
We followed the scent and at the road sheâd gotten into a car I donât think it was one Marcus owned as
the cigarette butt Lilli turned her nose up at smelled human.
âWhat do we do now, how do we find her?â Charlie scoffed.
âWe donât,â I realized. This whole time I was trying to get to her trying to save her, and I was grabbing at
straws. âIf sheâs escaped again and sheâs had help this time sheâll find us we just have to wait,â
âYouâve got to be kidding me we finally have a lead and you wanna back off!â Charlie almost charged
me but Ella
grabbed his arm.
âHeâs right!â James stepped between us. âAnna is on the run but I trust her to be smart enough to make
it home. Itâs Anna she will survive,â
âNo, we have do something.â
âDo you think this easy for me sheâs my wife Iâve killed almost a hundred men to keep her safe. I would
much rather try and find her but if we do that we might lead Marcus to her and then what happens!â
âWe canât leave her on her own!
âSheâs not though we all know she has someone with her,â Lilli squinted at him.
So we went home and I stretched out my mind for her. I couldnât find her but instead of darkness there
was wilderness.
tell me where you are
