Chapter 103
Stronger
Grayson POV:
I couldnât fully believe what had just occurred, i never once thought heâd find his way back into my life, I
never thought heâd entertain the idea enough to come back into my life.
I explained the situation and Theo confirmed there were snipers on the roofs. We had been gravely
outnumbered so there was no reason for them to doubt me.
I explained the situation upon our return and after my motherâinâlaw sat there glaring at me to open
her mouth and ask if there was a better reason I left. I walked out Matt and Elizebeth behind me.
âIt was really him?â Matt asked me.
âYes,â I couldnât believe it myself so I understood their apprehension.
âI need to go and speak to my mother,â I realized as we moved away.
Sheâd know how to play this best. Marcus was one animal my father was a far greater beast, if I wanted
to get my wife back I now had to go against him and win. Never had been good at that, even as a kid
never could win against him in any game. Most fathers let their sons win so they know what itâs like, not
mine heâd relish in putting me down.
She was married to him, she knew him better than anyone. She knew what he hated and what he
loved, she knew what would drive him crazy. She knew what heâd do next, how he would play this
game. Iâd always valued her opinion but now it was about to be the word of the goddess.
I walked past my house and into her small cortège, she preferred to be on the edge of things. I entered
and the delightful sound of laughter hit my cars. After I had built my own house my mother requested I
burn her old one and build her this place.
It was an easy thing to do; thereâd been no happiness in that house. Sheâd taken in the two rouge
children, theyâd both relaxed immensely with my mother as their guardian.
âNo, no not like that,â my mother was standing over them laughing as she taught them how to make
bread. She was so happy and I was about to ruin that for a good while.
âGrayson!â She smiled beckoning me over. âCome come help,â she looked at my face and looked at the
two teens âGo to the school and see if they need any helping hands,â she instructed them.
They were good kids and did as they were told moving away from her and bowing their heads to me as
they left.
âWhatâs happened?â She looked as if she suspected the worst.
âWe lost him,â I explained, partially.
I avoided her gaze like Iâd stolen randy. I couldnât tell her, to bring her back to the hell sheâd lived in,
dragging her into the walls sheâd built around herself. Sheâd shut off almost all of herself to survive.

âMom I donât know how to say this-â
âIs Annette alright,â she grasped her hands.
@57%
âAs much as I know thatâs not the problem,â I shook my head and gathered the strength to say it.
âHe was there,â I told her. And she stared at me quizzically for a few breaths and then the realization hit
her. Lwatched. horror ascend her face and she slumped onto a chair.
âMarcus came to him and brokered a deal. They are working together now and he knows about
Annette,â I told her.
As quickly as the fear appeared it was gone. âIâll kill that asshole,â she growled and she slammed her
fist on the table, her claws digging in gouging holes.
I made him swear to never enter our lives again! That fucking cancer has now set its sights on your
wife! On my grandchild! No! I wonât let him. He should have stayed in his ivory tower Iâm not letting this
go. Heâs a dead man,â
I was shocked. Iâve only ever seen her that angry when I totaled her car, I hadnât been driving it but it
was in my way.
âWhat should we do,â
âWhat should we do? What should we do? Oh I know what to do,â she went into her room and pulled
out a stack of files.
âWhat is that?â I asked her.
âItâs all the evidence of what your father stole from us along with a few tip off from an old business
partner or two. Apparently, he has a penchant for insider trading. She revealed page after page of
backhanded deals and laws broken.
Sure enough, heâd cut out his two business partners breaking the contract but theyâd had no option but
to go quietly because heâd found out about their insider trading only through his insider trading source.
They got the emails, the purchases, and everything.
My mom had proof of him stealing the packsâ money, the offshore account heâd put it all in, and the fake
name heâd
used.
âThey found me a few years ago and gave me the evidence said they couldnât do it because heâd know
it was them but theyâd hoped I could. I had said at the time I wasnât interested in revenge but now, the
gloves are off,â she nodded to me.
âYou know this wonât convict him,â I confessed sadly.
âThis should lock him up in enough litigation to keep him busy for a while,. She grinned at me. âThat
wolf glove is enough time to get everyone into shape and gather evidence on where Anna went. I let
him ruin our family once. Never again,â she stood up and looked me in the eyes deeply.
As Iâd said before hers would now be the words of the goddess and we should take them as such.
âIt will be hard to suspend looking for Annette, especially with her parents,â I reminded my mont.
âIâll talk to her mother I believe itâs time we came to an understanding anyway,â she told me.
âPlease keep the claws in,â I pointed to the holes in her table with my eyes.
âOnly if she does,â my mother raised her chin.
I donât know why I had expected her to crumble. My mother and wife had the same extraordinary ability
to rise in the face of their greatest fears.
I could only hope my wife was doing that right now saving face and holding on until I came for her. I
wouldnât ever let her see pain or sorrow again. After this, I donât think Iâd be able to let her out of my
sight.
I went to go and find Matt and Elizebeth to explain to them the plan and James found me on my way to
them following after me.
âIâm sorry,â heâd looked at the ground.
âWhat for?â I was worried heâd done something stupid but instead, he told me.
âAnna told me how hard your father was on you and how awful heâd been and I hadnât really believed
her and hated you but the way he looked at you, I believe her now,â he genuinely apologized.
âYou love your sister. Thatâs all I need of you I donât need anything else, would it be nice if you didnât
want to viscously and maliciously tear out my heart yea, but as long as you help me get her back weâre
fine,â
I had to imagine how hard it was for those kids to all bear the weight of hundreds of years of prestige
on their shoulders. Annette, she bore it like she was meant to so gracefully and kindly. Her brothers
seemed to shudder at the thought. One was a borderline psychopath with his bloodlust and one was
waging against the idea of a female alpha for a pretty face.
At least Theo was doing as he was told. If their parents only knew. Well, Jonathan knew about Charlie
but I had one certain feeling Eva did not and I highly doubted sheâd take it well. If there was one line
that Eva couldnât cross for her childrenâs happiness I suspected it was the whole six generations of
female alphas.
I walked into my conference room and Matt and Elizebeth met me there. I set down the filet and
explained it all to
them.
âAre we supposed to leave the Luna to her fate for the time being?â Elizebeth argued.
It was amusing to me how much Elizebeth championed my wife. âNo, we will still try and track her
down. Weâll go through any of my enemies, her parentâs enemies, and the Bane Crescent Packâs allies.
All of them we will contact everyone and see if they have anything to hide but while we pull at threads,
weâll train up our warriors and build up
our numbers,â
âBuild up our numbers?â Elizebeth raised a brow.
âRogues,â I gave in. âWe have to admit a fair number of them could be from nefarious packs and have
good morals we have a few rogues thurâll tell who else to invite but we wonât just open the gates,â
âIt sounds good to me. This jackass wonât be able to do anything to my sister if heâs running around
with the human
government,â James pointed out something that missed my mind.
âThatâs true I wouldnât put it past him to try and take her from Marcus to hold her over my head,â I
agreed.
âSo then this is the plan. Are we sure itâs the safe one?â Marcus asked me.
âMy mother said it was and I believe her,â I told them.
âThen thatâs what weâll do,â He nodded to me.
