16. Gender reveal
My little mate, aria
Aria
It had been one month since I found out I was pregnant. Now it was more obvious I was carrying the potential alpha. Of course I thought we were having a boy, but the guys think it's a girl. "No, you will have the gender written on a piece of paper, then give it to us. You two will go round the territory until we are done setting everything up," Jack demanded. "I'm starting to question who's alpha and Luna?" Christian muttered. "Not gonna lie, so am I," I rubbed my bump. It was crazy that I had got much bigger. "Shut up guys. We want this to be perfect," Patrick frowned. "Ok, ok. We better go now or we'll wait until the kid is actually here to see what the gender is," I laughed. Me and Christian walked to the pack hospital house and was greeted by kelly.
"Are you ready to find out the gender?" Kelly asked. "Can you actually write it on a piece of paper. A couple pack members that are really close to us are throwing a gender reveal for us?" I bit my bottom lip. "Of course. It's not the first time someone has asked," she replied. I wiped my the gel off then stood up. Kelly came back in with the pictures and the gender in an envelope again. Like the other ones i got, I would put the pictures in a scrap book to remember the journey with our pup. When we got back to the house, me and Christian were kicked out, Josh took the envelope then pushing us out the door.
"Hello," I answered my phone. "You can come home now. Everything is set up and ready," Patrick told me. I could tell he was smiling even if I couldn't see him. "Ok, we're on our way," I told him then hung up. "Ready to go find out the gender?" Christian smiled down at me. "Now more than ever," I replied with a smile of my own. We walk up to the house with josh taking us to the back garden. The whole pack was there smiling widely at me and Christian waiting to see if they were getting a mini me or mini Christian.
Christian and I talked to the pack for a bit before finding out. "Alright, the suspense is killing me, just cut the cake already," Jack whined. "You weren't told?" Christian laughed. "No, they said I would tell everyone and ruin it. But they weren't wrong," Jake pouted. I shook my head at him then going over to the cake. "Ready?" I look at my mate. We both held the knife and cut a slice out of the cake. "Is that?" Me and Christian looked at each other and laughed. "What's so funny?" Everyone burst out. "It looks purple. Not quite pink and not quite blue," I laughed. "What?! No," Josh exclaimed. "It, god, ugh. Congratulations, it's a boy," Josh smiled. "A mini me," Christian blurted out. The pack clapped and congratulated us. Over time, people started to leave, eventually, me, Christian, Josh, Jack, James and Patrick all sat in the living room watching dead pool.
Half way through the film, I got a pain in my belly. It wasn't bad, but still painful. I winced a bit getting everyone's attention. "You alright babe?" Christian turned to me quickly. "Yeah," I smiled and laughed a bit. "I think he just kicked," I added. Christians hands went on my bump waiting for our son to move or kick. After a couple minutes, I felt the pain again but I didn't wince. I moved Christians hand to where our son kicked the first two times, seeing if he would kick then. Not even a minute passed and he kicked, Christians face lit up and a wide smile spreading across his face. "That was the strangest and most amazing thing I've ever felt," he chuckled. Our son kicked his hand like a warning. "Sorry, just saying," Christian laughed. "Ahem," someone cleared their throat again. I forgot the others were here for a second. "Sorry," we both try to hide our smiles. "Thank you guys for today, I really appreciate it," I looked at them. "What sort of uncle would I be if I didn't do anything for my niece. Not only that but your mum would be waiting for me in the after life ready to beat my ass," Patrick laughed. My smile faded when I realised, my mum and dad weren't going to be there with me. I wouldn't have my mum to ask questions to, my dad to give Christian the man talks about taking care of his little girl. The thoughts made a lump come up in my throat and tears form in my eyes. "I need a minute," I blurted out then left the living room.
I went into the kitchen, I leaned one hand on the table and the other over my mouth. Tears pooled out of my eyes as I tried to contain my sobs. All of a sudden, I felt arms go around my waist and up, staying on my bump. Sparks went up my body so I knew it was Christian. "I get it," he whispered in my ear. "What?" I wiped my eyes. "I understand how your feeling. My mum and dad haven't been around me since I took over the pack. I doubt they'd be back any time soon either," Christian mumbled. "It was something I thought I would share with my mum, all the girl talks. I love Bella but it's not the same thing," I cried. "I know baby, I know," Christian turned me around and hugged me. I cried into his chest but felt another set of arms go around me. "I'm sorry aria, I know it's still a fresh wound with your mum and dad. Making jokes like that didn't help either," I heard Patrick. "It's still really hard," I sobbed. Patrick let go of me letting me get comfort from my mate. "I really am sorry aria. I'll get the boys and let you two have some alone time," Patrick kisses my head then leaves. I hear the front door close and Christian breath out. "Let's get to bed. It's been a long day," he kissed my head then takes my hand. We go up to our room and get into bed. Me and Christian had changed into comfortable clothes before we watched the film. I faced away from Christian, laying on my side staring at the blank wall. A arm went over my waist pulling me into a hard chest. "Just because your upset doesn't mean you can lay far away from me. I want to help aria, make you feel better, make you smile again. I would chose a different way but I don't think you really want to do that right now," Christian smirked. "Wait until Cj's born. And I've healed. Then you can distract me like that," I giggled. "Night love," Christian smiled and kissed me. "Night," I mutter and close my eyes. It was a very long, emotional day.
