chapter 27

Nishith returned to his office after attending the Annual day program at Ved's school. Past thoughts and present emotions mingled up in his mind that took away the peace of his mind. He failed to suppress the ongoing conflicts and was tired of ignoring  his inner conscience.Just then Richa enters his cabin with a lot of happiness and excitement being reflected on her face. " Nishith... Baby... Just two more days.  Then we will be together and forever. I am so happy. " , She hugged him from behind with a wide smile on her face.Nishith avoids her and gets up from his chair. He holds her hand and leads her to the sofa and makes her sit on it. He kneels down just beside her." What happened? Why are you sad? Is everything fine? Just a minute. Why are these tears in your eyes? " , She asked with  serious expressions on her face." No... It's nothing." , Nishith replied silently with a dull voice with his gaze fixed on the floor." Nishith.... I need the answer. Come on... Tell me. You just can't hide anything from me. Staying silent is not the solution Nishith. You need to tell me. Otherwise how will I understand ? How will I understand your situation? " , She asked with a lot of concern as her eyebrows lowered and she kept staring at his eyes expecting an answer. " I am sorry , Richa. I was confused. Twelve years ago Samaira had come into my life. We were madly in love. Time passed on. Responsibilities grew and love was lost. When I met you, I was searching for that love in you. But today I realized one thing. You fall in love only once. In fact , I would like to thank you Richa. That day if you had not convinced me to accept Samaira's conditions, then I would have never realized that I only love her. I would have never realized that my son considers me as his idol. Forgive me Richa. Please forgive me. I have committed a huge mistake . I broke Samaira's heart for you. Now I am breaking your heart for her. Please try to understand my situation. Forgive me if you can. I am sorry. " ,  Nishith broke into tears as he finished speaking. His heavy breaths echoed in his cabin. At this moment, before he could realise anything... Richa slapped him tightly on his left cheek . Her nose flared out of anger. Her eyebrows furrowed and her ears turned red . She got up and fumed out of the room.Nishith raised himself up from the floor and composed himself. He gathered courage . He walked to his table and took out a frame from the drawer. " I am coming.... Samaira. I am coming. I am coming to be yours completely and for ever.  I will mend everything. I am coming. " , He whispers to himself looking at the photograph and moving his fingers over the picturesque that depicted their happy family. He put on his blazer. He wiped his tears and arranged his messed up hair.  Today he had realised the big blunder that he was going to commit. So, today it was the right moment for him to fix it and to save the pure bond of love and affection from breaking. He grabbed the keys and departed towards his vehicle.It was already eight in the evening. The busy roads of the metropolitan city  killed the serene atmosphere of the night and the loneliness of a loner who wandered alone in this city for some or the other reason. This made him irritated as he was stuck in the traffic. He was getting restless. The atmosphere was occupied with the hustle and bustle of the moving vehicles and their screeching horns. He could see the evening star shining brightly in the Western sky . The cool and crisp air whispered near his ears as the stars began to twinkle forming an apparent image in the sky.
