Chapter 35
The Bad Boy And The Mermaid
Blue Hunter placed a picnic mat on the floor with a basket filled with the food that the cook had prepared. It was a lovely place, the river banks; surrounded by lush greenery and a calm river. The sound of the birds added to the feeling, it was a good change from the city chaos. If Hunter wished we could stay here forever and I wouldnât complain.
Weâd gotten a perfect spot under the shade of a large tree. Hunter opened the basket and pulled out sandwiches and mini pizzas for the two of us.
There was also a homemade cheesecake. I took a bite, the cheese, and the blackberries tasted heaven, so moist and gooey. I moaned and heard Hunter laugh. âSheâs a great cook, isnât she? Mary-Alix.â
I nodded earnestly. âCan she teach me to cook like her?â
âIâm sure sheâd love to.â
âCan we stay here for a bit longer?â
âDo you mean the town or the river?â Hunter asked, grinning.
âBoth,â I said taking a bite of the pizza.
âI have college in four days, love. The most I can push is a day forward. I also have some assignment I need to submit that I havenât even started yet.â
âAssignment. Do you mean school work?â
âYes.â
âWell, I can help you with that.â I offered.
âThanks, but Iâve also been absent for a lot of time and thatâs not showing well in my academic year reports. If it continues, Iâm afraid Iâll have to repeat the classes.â
We washed that down with an equally refreshing lemonade drink. I rubbed the back of his neck and kissed him there. âYouâll be fine.â
âIf youâre with me, Iâm sure Iâll be fine.â He said quickly.
The afternoon turned lazy, and the two of us lay on our backs staring at the sky above. I pointed at one cloud that looked like an animal. âOh look, thatâs a rabbit.â
Hunterâs eyebrows furrowed as he concentrated towards where I was pointing. âI donât see it.â
âLook closely,â I insisted, âThereâs the rabbit ears and his body.â
âOh right, I saw it too.â He said but I wasnât convinced he had. âShow me something you see.â
âYou tell me what you see and then Iâll tell you what it is,â I said.
âOkay.â
I pointed at a cloud, âWhatâs that there?â
âHmm...a banana?â He asked innocently.
âLook closely, Hunter.â
âA boat, maybe?â
âItâs your penis.â
âMy wifeâs mind is in the gutter,â Hunter admitted.
I laughed and then he commented, ânot that I mind as long as her mind stays in the gutter just for me.â
âWell, it will always remain that way,â I said leaning atop his chest. His arm went around my waist and he pulled me closer.
I felt his lips graze the top of my head. âI love you so much.â He said in a low voice. I loved how he would keep telling he loved me every now and then like he wanted to constantly remind me in case I forgot about it.
âI love you, too.â
âBlue, I know youâre not very keen on meeting strangers, but this town is small and everyone here is like a small family.â
âHmmm...Iâm listening.â
âThe town mayor wants us to join his family tomorrow for a barbecue dinner. Heâs been my dadâs childhood friend. Is it okay for you, I mean itâs totally fine if you canât go, Iâll tell themââ
âIâll go,â I said.
No matter how uncomfortable it made me to first meet strangers, it wasnât that difficult now that Hunter was always beside me, like a shadow. Or like an imperial guard in charge to protect the Princess.
During the day of the wedding when I was getting ready for my big day, Hannah was jokingly saying about how Hunter loved me so much that he would literally worship the ground I walked on, which was a little too much and it made me giddy but when I touched him, looked into his smoldering gray eyes, I knew that it was the truth and so Iâd decided I would go to the end of the earth if thatâs where he wanted to go.
Of course, there was another part of me that kind of wished Hunter could shape-shift into a Merman so we could go into my world too.
We spent the rest of the afternoon touring the small town, Hunter showed me the little Bakery where he used to visit as a kid. The owners were an old couple who were so delighted to see me there, they ended up giving me two full boxes of homemade cookies which I couldnât wait to eat when I got back to our house.
I remembered they had mentioned their last name, but Iâd been so excited about all the sweets there, Iâd forgotten about it.
âThank you, Mr. and Mrs. Cookies,â I said while I walked out the bakery.
They stared back in confusion and Hunter was laughing.
The moment we reached home, I opened the box of cookies and began devouring them. Jelly jam cookie, there was peanut butter, pumpkin chocolate, Oatmeal, Raisin cookie, chocolate chip and a few more but I forgot the names for it.
Hunter brought his mouth close to mine and I stepped back. He opened his mouth wide. I took a bite of my third Chocolate chip cookie and stared at him. âWhy is your mouth open?â
He closed it suddenly and pointed at the brown bag in my hands, âarenât you going to share?â
Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.
Even the sound of me biting into the cookies was satisfying. âThey gave me the cookies. Not to you.â I reminded him.
âOne bite,â Hunter begged.
Huh.
My husband was begging, maybe I should let him have a taste. I reached into the bag and pulled out my least favorite one for him.
He shook his head. âI want to eat it from your mouth.â
Gross. Who did that?
Apparently, Hunter did.
He placed a cookie in my mouth and told me to keep a firm grip on it with my lips so I did that, next he brought his face close to mine, his fingers holding the back on my neck delicately as he tilted his face and nibbled the cookie slowly while it was still in my mouth, when he reached the end, he pressed his lips firmly on mine and when I opened up, his tongue swiped in and ate the remaining bit of the cookie.
âHmm...tastes like chocolate chip, oatmeal, raisin, and peanut butter, all together. I love it. The cookie tastes better in your mouth.â He whispered before he deepened the kiss, I moaned loudly, circling my arms around his neck.
âFinish what you started...â I whispered softly.
The corners of his eyes crinkled amusingly. âWeâve been going on for hours last night, baby. Youâll get tired.â
âNow. Make me come, right now.â I said. âPut your mouth there.â
He chuckled, and I didnât know what was so funny about me asking him that. Wives did that usually didnât they?
âI love this demanding side of you.â
Hunter Blue literally asked to lick her down there, and for a moment I stared at her in surprise because I know another woman in her place would have liked me to assume what she wanted because thatâs what women normally did.
They wanted men to have some telepathic powers to understand what was going on in their minds.
Not Blue though. If she wanted something, she demanded it.
I picked her up and placed her on the dresser. Slowly I reached for the hem of her dress and raised it to her thighs. She watched me with curious blue eyes as I hooked my fingers in her panties and peeled them away. I touched her soft folds and heard her sigh. She was wet, maybe wet wasnât even the right word. She was drenched as I continued to assault her with my fingers.
She threw her head back, her glorious blue hair splayed around her and moaned loudly.
âEyes on me, baby,â I commanded.
I felt a twinge of guilt with the fact that Iâd corrupted her completely. My innocent mermaid-angel.
She turned to look at me with eyes laced with desires and held my stare. âPut...put...â she stammered.
My fingers teased her, and I would be joking if I said I wasnât having fun torturing her slowly, âYes? Put what?â
She propped her elbows on the dresser and glared at me, a very cute horny glare, âPut your mouth on me. Make use of that tongue!â
My eyes went wide. Such a bold display of hornyness from Blue was making me laugh but for the first time I held it in. I didnât want to piss her off even more by laughing.
âWife is law,â I said as I pulled her legs apart and my tongue plunged into her, I made lazy strokes on her clitoris and brought her entire world crashing down.
Later that night, we watched an old movie together in the private movie theatre upstairs which was followed by dinner in the main dining area downstairs.
Dad always told me that if I straightened up like a boy-scout, I could inherit this house one day. And Iâd been adamant that I didnât need anything from him, but now as I talked to the staff, joked and laughed with them with Blue sitting beside me, it all made sense.
One day, I would want to come back here, settle down in this small town, inherit the house and raise my children here.
My thoughts were interrupted by Blueâs mumbling. I glanced up at her from my empty plate thinking Iâd probably missed something she wanted to tell me. But her head was bent down as she spoke the words and then smiled to herself.
Strange...
It gave me chills. Was there someone else in this room that I wasnât aware about? If Blue said there were ghosts in this house, we were packing and leaving.
I ignored the behavior, chalking it up as one of Blueâs many strange behaviors. It wasnât like she was acting out of character anyway. My wife was different. I had come to realize that long before I married her.
Come to think of it, I remembered her talking to herself when we were napping by the riverbanks, but my eyes had been closed that time and I was feeling drowsy with sleep so Iâd easily forgotten all about it.
By the time we walked up the stairs to the bedroom, I suspected Blue had an imaginary friend. Just when I thought Iâd imagined it, she giggled.
She freakinâ giggled!
I closed the door of our bedroom. This was really stupid but I had to ask her, âBlue.â
âHmm...â she had a smile on her face and was clearly distracted. She took off her shoes and began unzipping her bag. She pulled out a pack of UNO cards.
âWho were you talking to?â I inquired.
She appeared surprised by my inquiry, âArtemis.â She said blinking at me.
âWho is Artemis?â
Please donât tell me this house is haunted by some ghost from the eighteenth century. Probably one of my great-great-great grandfatherâs exes who were still roaming around the mansion looking for him.
I watched as Blue placed a hand on her abdomen. âArtemis, our baby.â
I sucked in a breath and heaved a sigh of relief. So she was talking to a non-existent baby all this time?!
âWho said there was a baby in there?â I asked.
She passed me a questioning look, a look that was full of confusion, âisnât there?â
Oh god. I really hated to see a sad look on her face. I shook my head, âthere canât be a baby this soon.â
âBut...but we slept together last night and then again this morning. We made love.â She reminded me and rubbed her stomach again. âSo how am I not having a baby?â
I laughed, âYou canât get pregnant overnight. Itâs possible it could happen now, after a month later or even a few months later. We canât guarantee, but youâll find out youâre pregnant if you miss your periods next month.â
Her smile turned bright again. âReally? I hope I miss it!â
Yesterday, Iâd been so caught up in the heat of the moment that Iâd been side-tracked by the practical part of life and let my desire take over that the thought of using protection had completely left my mind.
I scratched my head nervously, how do I break it to her? âWe canât have a baby right now.â
The wide smile was wiped clean like chalk marks on a blackboard, âWhy not? Weâre married now, and weâre in love.â
âWell, Iâm not financially fit to take care of a child at the moment. A child comes with a lot of responsibilities, and I donât think Iâm ready to be a father yet.â
The Bad Boy And The Mermaid ï¤Chapter 34 âBut Iâm ready to be a mother.â She insisted, âLetâs have a baby, Hunter.â
I crouched down to her level and caught both her hands in mine. âPlease understand. I donât have enough money to bring a child into the mix. Iâm not saying weâre never having children, only that I need some time. A year or two, tops.â
âI want a baby.â She said stubbornly. âWho knows maybe Iâm pregnant now. Thereâs nothing you can do if I become pregnant because of what we did yesterday and today.â
I reached for my duffle bag and pulled out the emergency birth-control pills. Iâd packed them with my luggage because Iâd suspected something like this would happen. I placed the pill on Blueâs palm and handed her a glass of water.
She stared at the pill and then at me. âI donât need medicine. Iâm well.â
âI know youâre well, this isnât for sickness. Itâs going to make sure youâre not pregnant by the end of this month.â
She jabbed it back into my palm. âIâm not taking it!â she gave me a heated look, one that was close to promising murder.
âIâm your husband, Blue! Youâre supposed to listen to me.â
âAnd Iâm your wife, Hunter! Youâre supposed to listen to me too!â she said in a mocking tone.
I gritted my teeth. I hated fighting with her, but here we are fighting on the second day of our married life. I opened her palm forcefully and placed it back into her palm. âYouâre going to take this right now. Do not make me angry, Blue, because youâre not going to like it.â
I think it was the look in my eyes that made her docile. She accepted the pill and I watched her swallow it with a glass of water. When I tried to touch her, she slapped my hand away.
I watched her climb in bed, keeping her back facing to me.
I just knew it.
There would be no making love tonight.
