CHAPTER 50- FINDING ALLISON
BRUTAL MINDS (A DARK ROMANCE)
It was getting dark. Hades wasn't coming. She kept sobbing hopelessly in the dark. Her stomach was growling from hunger. She hadn't eaten anything since the day before and breakfast that morning was too foul to consume. Besides, she wouldn't trust whatever those men gave her. Was this how she was actually going to die? From starvation?
Careful darling, this world would be in trouble if you died.
She smiled, faintly hearing his voice in her head. That was solace enough. Knowing that if she were to die there and then, he wouldn't rest until he's found the perpetrators of this crime. The door came open much later. She heard footsteps approaching her.
Hades?
"Why haven't you been eating, darling?"
She got stunned by the familiar voice that brought back bitter memories. He crouched down and took off her blindfold. Allison squinted her eyes in the dark.
"Davian?" She gasped.
"I could say that I've missed you but it wrenches my heart that you do not feel the same." He smiled. His eyes trailed the cuts on her arm and legs. "You shouldn't have refused to eat, now look at your perfect skin." He added, remorselessly.
"What do you want now? I have no more business with you."
"And you wouldn't have if not for your husband."
"Hades?"
"How could you Ally? You left me for my uncle? That psychopath?! I expected better!"
"Atleast he wasn't the one who cheated on me with my best friend." She retaliated, sharply.
"Oh...? Esra....it would interest you to know that she's lying cold now."
"Wh...what? What the hell? What did you do to her?"
Davian shook his head. "Nothing, she tried to run off with my money. I had men trail her down. She wasn't willing to give up the money and they had no choice but to gun her down."
Allison gasped, horrified.
"Oh don't worry, dear. You won't be dying by a gun. If I'm going to pay Hades back in his own coin, I'll have to use the methods he used on me."
"What... do...you mean? She stuttered, no doubt scared.
"That scumbag kept me locked up in a dungeon and tortured me for four years all because of you!" Davian yelled, upset.
"Why?" She asked, confused.
"He blamed your death on me. Said I was the reason you tried to get away from LA and met your fatal end in that road accident but you're alive, aren't you?"
"What? But that...but that wouldn't make any sense!" _Why would Hades do such a thing, four years ago?_
"However, all those punishments I suffered, just can't be in vain now, can they?"
"No please no."
"I'll just have to make sure you die....for real this time."
Allison fisted her hands, upset.
"You wouldn't dare touch me!"
"Oh? Is that so?" He mocked.
"He'll find me and God so help you because he will kill you and that'll be after he's made you suffer ten times worse."
Davian laughed, mockingly.
"Now I feel sorry for you Allison because why? No one is coming to get you out of here and certainly not my uncle."
"You don't know that!"
"I do...because I've sent Lisa to him. As a diversion."
Lisa?
Urgh! Why did that make her feel nauseous. His perfect ex with killer hips. Perfect! She was going to make sure to keep steering him away from where she was actually held and all in the guise of helping.
I'm screwed!
"Before you die in a few days, I might as well make one confession."
"What?"
He leaned in and whispered. "I was the one who turned off your father's support and ended his pathetic life."
Allison gasped, shocked. "YOU!"
"Yes darling, I thought that after his death, you would run right back into my warm arms like you always did. Given that I'd be the only you could think of that would love you at that time but you just had to go running away, didn't you?"
"It was you! You animal!" She cried out. "And you made me blame it on Hades all these years."
"Turns out the two of us are just a couple of sadists but what made Hades so special to get married to?"
"He would never hurt me." She said, having no idea where those words came from.
"Oh? Is that so?"
"Why that look?" Allison feared he had something to reveal that she wouldn't like and she had had just about enough of being disappointed by the ones she loved.
"Did you know that the conditions for your contracted marriage was on his terms?"
"What do you mean?"
"All he wants from you is a child."
"I know that."
"Oh? So you do know that this will be your next only chance to give birth and you'll be handing him your child. Leaving you childless forever?"
"Childless? Forever?" She scoffed. "Come on Davian, I thought better of you. I can always have another child."
"Then you don't even know your own history."
"What history?"
"A genetic flaw among women from the Doreen line. They only give birth once."
"That's not true!"
"How do you explain your aunt not being able to give birth after her first miscarriage?"
Allison bit her lips, refusing to believe him.
"Hades knew all that and still went ahead with that condition." Davian added.
"What? No...I'm sure there's some sort of explanation...he wouldn't..." Tears of hurt, welled up in her eyes.
"Yes he did. I'm sorry Ally, seems no one truely ever loves you."
"N..o." Tear streaked down her eyes.
How could he? Screwed up bastard!
Yet another awful morning. Almost forty eight hours and no sign of his pet. No clue where they could have taken her and it was driving him nuts. Lisa had been a big help so far. The two of them had done a lot at the airport yesterday but nothing fruitful came out of it. Hades paced up and down in his bedroom. Lisa had suggested that he took the day off.
You look like a ghost, Hades.
She had said to him before she left the house that morning and maybe she was right. His face was pale and his entire aura was disoriented and he hadn't been able to focus on the office either. He let out a tired sigh. He was hurting, he could feel his heart wrench inside of him as the minutes passed. Were they starving his pet? Torturing her? She wouldn't be able to endure harshness. She was too fragile. They had better not lay a finger on her. He needed to find her but how?
Where in the world are you, pet?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Wakey wakey!" It was Timwick
"H..ades?" She got up with red, teary eyes. Her blindfold had not been tied back since Davian took them off last night.
"Breakfast." Replied the unfriendly voice.
Allison peered down at the plate. Thick brownish substance stared back at her. Soup? She thought. Whatever it was, it certainly is disgusting and probably not in the least safe to consume.
"Well? Would you like another beating?" He asked, harshly.
"I'm not eating that." She said, defiantly.
All this defiance will get you nowhere, pet.
Shut up Hades! She scolded the voice in her head.
"I see. Yesterday, we didn't care much but orders have been given that you eat."
"Why? There's no need to fatten a slaughter. To avoid troubles with the bowels after death."
Timwick smiled. "Sounds like you've studied A/H before."
Animal husbandry. Well yes, I had to quit science for arts because of my dad but look where it's got me now. Doreen corp is gone and so is he. She thought, bitterly.
"Stop being so stubborn and open up."
"No! Take it away! I won't eat anything and certainly not that disgusting piece of crap!"
"Shut that ungrateful mouth or I wouldn't mind ridding you of that sharp tongue!" He threatened, hitting a slap across her face causing her to wince in pains. "You won't eat? I'll make you." He got up to his feet and picked up the stick from yesterday.
"No no no please..."
BANG!
A loud sound came in from outside that sounded like a gunshot. Both Allison and Timwick, stiffened in shock. Timwick's phone rang. Davian.....
"Yes sir?"
"Kill her!"
"What?"
"You fucking heard me! Kill her. He's there already. Kill her Tim. Don't let him get to her alive."
Hangup!
Timwick looked out the window, several of their men were down and other strange men infiltrated the farm. The shooting hadn't stopped either. He pulled out his gun and pointed it at Allison. That bitch, Lisa. She had one job to do! One damn job! He cussed.
"No please don't kill me please. I beg of you!" Allison pleaded, tears trailing down her eyes.
"Goodbye!"
"NO!"
She felt a splash of blood across her face. She screeched, horrified but she opened her eyes a second later and realized it wasn't hers but Timwick's blood spluttered on her. Someone shot him from behind and he fell with a loud thud.
Dead!
Allison looked up through her teary eyes and for a moment relief washed over her so hard that it became almost painful. There he was engulfing her in the most deprived, badly craved hug she could ever dream of receiving.
"Hades!"
She cried out, crying her eyes out in his shoulder.
"It's okay, it's okay, darling. Shh, shhhh."Â He kept patting her hair as she wouldn't stop sobbing in his arms.
"Where were you?"
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry it took too long to find you, pet." He held her face with his hands. "But I'm here now, aren't I?"
She smiled through tears. For a moment she had forgotten all Davian had told her the day before.
"And you're such a good girl, I found your necklace on the road side. That's smart of you, love." He caressed her cheek, lovingly.
She smiled, again. "You told me to leave traces."
"And I'm glad you listened. That's my good girl." He kissed her forehead. His eyes fell on her arms and legs. Cuts, bruises. A frown knotted his brows together.
"Who hurt you, pet?" He asked, calmly. The kind of calm that held both hurt and anger. Only the anger was more.
"I...I don't know." She whimpered.
"What the hell? You must know." He said, getting up. "I need to know which one of them was responsible for this, I'll give him a special kind of treatment from the others."
Hades carried her up in his arms and room her outside. She squeezed her eyes shut painfully at the sight of the bright sunlight after two days indoors. She turned her head to his chest and curled up against him, adverting her eyes. He smiled, finding her wriggling very adorable.
"These are the men, sir." One of Hades men spoke. Five men in farm clothes were made to kneel in front of him.
"How smart! Kidnappers disguised as innocent farmers. That's smart I must say but your smartness ends today." Hades said then looked down at the weightless thing in his arms.
"Which one of them, pet?" He asked.
Allison looked at all five of them, confused.
"Tell me." He urged, running out of patience.
"I don't know!" She cried out!
"What?"
"I...I...I had a blindfold on so I couldn't tell." She winced.
A blindfold? But she has a phobia of the dark. His heart bled at what she must have gone through. She must have had a trauma recall. Damn it! How could Davian? He knew this, didn't he? Yet he ordered she be blindfolded. That was it!
"Fine! All of them then!" Hades growled, furious. "Round them up and bring them with us." He gave orders to his guards. With her, still in his arms, he walked over to one of the cars that had been parked not far from the farm house and set her in the backseat. She could hear grunted struggling from the men being dragged by Hades' guards.
"Lie back darling, we're going home."
"Mmm"
Allison nodded, relieved and glad it was all over. She did as he said and it wasn't long before she fell asleep. Tired and relieved.
