CHAPTER 49- SCREWED UP BASTARD!

BRUTAL MINDS (A DARK ROMANCE)

The very next morning, Hades was already dressed and ready to leave. He had barely slept a wink last night. Blaming himself for ever leaving her alone. Bruce had slept over.

"Up already?"

"I can't afford to waste anymore time. Remember I still have two places to check out today."

"I really wish I could come along."

"That's fine. I understand you have your work to get to. Thank you for coming."

"Anytime."

Doorbell rings.

Both men exchanged confused looks.

"Expecting someone?"

"No."

Hades went to the door and opened it.

"Merry Christmas, darling!" The woman at the door, smiled cheerfully, holding a gift box in her hand.

"Lisa?"

"I'm sorry I couldn't come in yesterday, I was tied down." She walked in casually and set the box down on the counter.

"What are you doing here"

"To gift you. Where's your wife? I'd like to also see her."

Hades let out a sigh.

"Is...something wrong?" She looked innocently from Hades to Bruce.

"She's missing."

"Oh my goodness! That's horrible! When did this happen?"

"Last night?"

"Any leads to her yet?"

"The pathways at Avril."

"Do you know the exact one she could have been taken through?" Lisa asked.

"No, we're not sure."

Thank goodness!

"I'm going to check out the one on the right first. Hades said. "It leads to the outskirts of the city. I suspect if they could take her anywhere, it would be there."

Oh no!

"Wouldn't it be more logical they took her to the airport?" Lisa asked, trying to cause a diversion.

"What?" Hades had hoped not, it'd be a lot harder to find her if she was flown out of the city and his patience was running out.

"I'd say we check in every flight from last night both time of departure and arrival destination. What do you think?" She asked.

"I guess that'd be a good idea but...."

"What is it?"

"Why are you helping out?" Hades asked, suspiciously.

"Quit those eyes Hades! Do I look like someone without compassion? Someone got abducted here for crying out loud and not to mention, your wife. We have to find her. I'm not a total jerk." Lisa defended.

"Fine, let's do it."

She smiled, triumphantly.

Alright Davian, Mission accomplished.

_Darkness..._

Allison whimpered as the morning sun streaked through the window of the farm house. Her tied hand were hurting and so were her eyes. It was torture for her vision to be restrained. She fretted, alone.

Where was Hades? She thought, her anxiety growing.

Just two nights before, everything had been blissful. The morning before she was helping little girls and boys with their presents wrapped in box of red, white and green ribbons. She had met a little girl who thought of her as a role model and wanted to be like her.

Right now, she would give anything to make sure Suzy doesn't end up in her shoes, tied up and hopeless. Just yesterday, she and Hades had been arguing about what gender they wanted for a child.

Just last night, she was busy decorating the big Christmas tree in the living room. At that moment, he had taken her in his hands and kissed her so tightly. To think all that could be snatched away within minutes.

That damn phonecall! What if he wasn't yet back from that meeting? What if all efforts to find her proved unsuccessful? Hades...

She cried out in a whimper. Oh how she wanted to be out of here and back in his arms. She was starting to feel safe there. Was that even believable?

'Karl' the ungrateful scumbag! She thought, angrily. How could he do this to her? She should have listened to Hades. Karl was never to be trusted. How could she have been blind? You've always been blind Ally...

Wasn't this what she had been trying to get away from? Being trampled by the ones she trusted? Was anyone in her life even trust worthy? And Hades? Was she making a bitter mistake with Hades?

But you've clearly chosen your path. With Hades.

What are you doing? Stay back Karl!

A not so fun-fact? Everyone associated with that bastard always ends up either miserable or dead. It's a shame because I had really wanted you to live.

Poor Venice! Did she also end up like this? Was this how she must have felt? Tied up and tossed away in the dark. Like a sheep waiting for slaughter. Just then she heard voices. She listened carefully and realized, they must be farmers! Could it be she was thrown in here unknown to the original owners of this place?

"Go feed the livestock, Sam."

She heard one of them say and soon the door to the house opened. Initially she had expected a scream of alarm or something.

"Eat up!" A plate was shoved to her. These people had successfully mixed up with the farmers or were they all just the same, pretending to be farmers?

"I said eat up!" Yelled a gruff voice.

Allison wrinkled her nose at the awful smell from the plate. She kicked the plate away causing a laughter that made her realize, there was more than one man in that room.

"Not good enough for you, ma'am?" She felt a harsh grab on her jaw followed by a harsh slap across her face. She whimpered, hurt. Tears welled up her tied up eyes.

"Asshole!" She cussed.

"What the hell did you say?"

"Leave her to starve if she wants to." Another voice said.

"She's going to have to eat, one way or the other." The man said, picking up a nearby stick and striking her arms and legs several times with the object.

Allison screeched out in pains. Shreds of her shirt were being ripped with each hard strike. Blood starting seeping from her skin as she cried out.

"Leave the plate with her and let's get out of here. She'll eat when she's starving. We're not supposed to be here for much longer."

Allison heard the footsteps disappearing as the door locked behind her. She lay back, sobbing in pains. It was getting dark. Hades wasn't coming. She kept sobbing hopelessly in the dark.

Her stomach was growling from hunger. She hadn't eaten anything since the day before and breakfast that morning was too foul to consume. Besides, she wouldn't trust whatever those men gave her. Was this how she was actually going to die? From starvation?

Careful darling, this world would be in trouble if you died.

She smiled, faintly hearing his voice in her head. That was solace enough. Knowing that if she were to die there and then, he wouldn't rest until he's found the perpetrators of this crime. The door came open much later. She heard footsteps approaching her.

Hades?

"Why haven't you been eating, darling?"

She got stunned by the familiar voice that brought back bitter memories. He crouched down and took off her blindfold. Allison squinted her eyes in the dark.

"Davian?" She gasped.

"I could say that I've missed you but it wrenches my heart that you do not feel the same." He smiled. His eyes trailed the cuts on her arm and legs. "You shouldn't have refused to eat, now look at your perfect skin." He added, remorselessly.

"What do you want now? I have no more business with you."

"And you wouldn't have if not for your husband."

"Hades?"

"How could you Ally? You left me for my uncle? That psychopath?! I expected better!"

"Atleast he wasn't the one who cheated on me with my best friend." She retaliated, sharply.

"Oh...? Esra....it would interest you to know that she's lying cold now."

"Wh...what? What the hell? What did you do to her?"

Davian shook his head. "Nothing, she tried to run off with my money. I had men trail her down. She wasn't willing to give up the money and they had no choice but to gun her down."

Allison gasped, horrified.

"Oh don't worry, dear. You won't be dying by a gun. If I'm going to pay Hades back in his own coin, I'll have to use the methods he used on me."

"What... do...you mean? She stuttered, no doubt scared.

"That scumbag kept me locked up in a dungeon and tortured me for four years all because of you!" Davian yelled, upset.

"Why?" She asked, confused.

"He blamed your death on me. Said I was the reason you tried to get away from LA and met your fatal end in that road accident but you're alive, aren't you?"

"What? But that...but that wouldn't make any sense!" Why would Hades do such a thing, four years ago?

"However, all those punishments I suffered, just can't be in vain now, can they?"

"No please no."

"I'll just have to make sure you die....for real this time."

Allison fisted her hands, upset.

"You wouldn't dare touch me!"

"Oh? Is that so?" He mocked.

"He'll find me and God so help you because he will kill you and that'll be after he's made you suffer ten times worse."

Davian laughed, mockingly.

"Now I feel sorry for you Allison because why? No one is coming to get you out of here and certainly not my uncle."

"You don't know that!"

"I do...because I've sent Lisa to him. As a diversion."

Lisa?

Urgh! Why did that make her feel nauseous. His perfect ex with killer hips. Great! She was going to make sure to keep steering him away from where she was actually held and all in the guise of helping.

I'm screwed!

"Before you die in a few days, I might as well make one confession."

"What?"

He leaned in and whispered. "I was the one who turned off your father's support and ended his pathetic life."

Allison gasped, shocked. "YOU!"

"Yes darling, I thought that after his death, you would run right back into my warm arms like you always did. Given that I'd be the only you could think of that would love you at that time but you just had to go running away, didn't you?"

"It was you! You animal!" She cried out. "And you made me blame it on Hades all these years."

"Turns out the two of us are just a couple of sadists but what made Hades so special to get married to?"

"He would never hurt me." She said, having no idea where those words came from.

"Oh? Is that so?"

"Why that look?" Allison feared he had something to reveal that she wouldn't like and she had had just about enough of being disappointed by the ones she loved.

"Did you know that the conditions for your contracted marriage was on his terms?"

"What do you mean?"

"All he wants from you is a child."

"I know that."

"Oh? So you do know that this will be your only chance to give birth and you'll be handing him your child. Leaving you childless forever?"

"Childless? Forever?" She scoffed. "Come on Davian, I thought better of you. I can always have another child."

"Then you don't even know your own history."

"What history?"

"A genetic flaw among women from the Doreen line. They only give birth once."

"That's not true!"

"How do you explain your aunt not being able to give birth after her first miscarriage?"

Allison bit her lips, refusing to believe him.

"Hades knew all that and still went ahead with that condition." Davian added.

"What? No...I'm sure there's some sort of explanation...he wouldn't..." Tears of hurt, welled up in her eyes.

"Yes he did. I'm sorry Ally, seems no one truely ever loves you."

"N..o." Tear streaked down her eyes.

How could he? Screwed up bastard!
