CHAPTER 35- HER MAN TOY
BRUTAL MINDS (A DARK ROMANCE)
THE NEXT MORNING
Allison walked downstairs that morning wearing one of her top notch designer dresses with heels that clinked-clanked as she walked down to the living room where a few customers were waiting, seated. These were most of their very well known purchasers and Allison was glad to see their faces again. Okay maybe Hades was an asshole but this showed he was doing his job.
"Mr Craterson! Mr Anderson! Mr Brown, Mr....." on and on she went on as she smiled, shaking hands with each man.
"Miss Hamilton." They smiled back, all suddenly looking behind her as if expecting something else.
"Have a seat please, it's so good to see you again.
"I could say the same."
"It's a pleasure Miss Hamilton."
"So shall we begin?" She asked.
"Oh well actually..."
"Is...something wrong?" She asked, surprised by the uneasiness on their faces.
"Well we're not here for you Miss."
"That's silly." She laughed. "Ofcourse you'd be here to see me just as always, I'm the..."
"Good morning gentlemen, sorry to keep you waiting." Hades said, walking into the room.
"I see..." Allison pressed her lips together, an expression of disbelief and hurt on her face. "So you're the one they came to see."
"Yes."
"May I ask why?"
"Miss Hamilton after the last mess you made, we all think it would be best to let your husband handle things from now on."
"What?" Asked her hurt voice.
Even these men trust Hades more than her. What the hell does he feed people with?!
"Go back upstairs, we have a meeting to discuss." She heard Hades say.
"Why should I go back ups.."
"Miss Hamilton, please don't make a scene over this issue. It'd be best if you let him handle this."
She locked eyes with Hades and he gave her the 'be my guest and ruin things all over again' look.
Screw you! She thought before angrily storming out of the house. Hades watched the fumes of anger rising from her head as she left the living room and it made him smile, obviously she amused him.
"She seems wild. How do you put up with her Mr Lenshaw?" One of the men asked.
"I do try my best." He replied, his eyes still on the door she left half open.
Allison took another door back into the house and whilst the tears freely flowed down her cheeks, she couldn't help but find a way to get back at him. How could they do this to her? Having the spare key to his bedroom, she walked inside, searched and searched until she found it, his diary and his credit card.
ADEN'S MASKED BALL
11:00pm
A slender woman in a sparking black outfit with an equally matching mask with black feathers attached on the left, held the guests spell bound from the moment she walked in but now she was simply leaning against a wall with a glass in her hand as she examined the people in dim lit the party room. This was like a club only it was for the elite and the people here were more composed. More like an 80s themed affair.
"My God! There you are!"
"Karl! I'm so glad you could come."
"What the hell are you up to Allison?"
"Ahh what happened to calling me princess?" She asked, smiling.
"Are you...you're drunk again?"
"What? Why would you say that?"
"Oh you're not."
"What do mean by that? What happens when I'm drunk?" She asked, suddenly anxious and it made him laugh.
"Nothing serious but honestly, this place is for the big guns, you're in no financial position to afford this..."
"...who says it's my money?"
His eyes narrowed, suspiciously. "Who's is it then?"
Allison shrugged. "While he's having a good time running things at the office and stealing my customers from me. I thought it'd be best to pay him back a little by lavishly spending his goddamn money."
"You're something else."
"This is just the beginning."
"What happens when he finds out?"
"I'd simply deny it."
"You think that would work?"
"Enough about Hades, it's ruining the night."
"I see. Sorry about that."
"While we're on the topic of spending money...tell me, where would you like to spend the holidays Mr Roberts?" She asked, playfully pulling him in by the tie, much to his surprise.
"Sending me on a vacation? Trying to get rid me?"
"Never!" She giggled, rubbing her nose against his.
"You're acting very naughty princess, it's not like you."
"You don't even know me that well."
"Fair enough. So what do we call this then?"
"I don't even know..." she peered into his green eyes.
"You're married princess."
"To a Man I despise to death."
"You still wear his ring."
"He threatened to screw it on, if I dared take it off."
"Pardon?"
"He's a psychopath. I feel...safer around you." She admitted, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Well get used to it princess because I'm not leaving your side anytime soon."
"A promise?"
"Yes"
"Then seal it..." she whispered, huskily, raising his chin with her finger.
"What?"
"Seal it with a kiss."
"Allison..."
"You're mine Karl, just so you'd know."
He stared at her, speechless. "Gladly."
"Now kiss me!"
A smile lit up his face as he held her by the waist. "As you wish princess..."
"Isn't that Miss Hamilton?"
"Oh snap! It's her! It has to be her."
"Didn't she just get married to some top business mogul?"
"How shameless girls of these days can be! She's out here slutting around with her bodyguard."
"I heard he was never her bodyguard but a puppet more like her personal man-toy."
Interrupting their intense kiss, was the whispering from some elderly ladies a few feet from them. Karl watched her playful expression turn sour and upset by their words. She was about to confront them when He held her back.
"Allison...let it go. Don't worry about it."
"I've had enough of people dictating my life!" She said, leaving his grip and walking to the three gossips. They immediately stopped talking once they saw her approaching. Allison broke into a wide sadistic grin as she walked up to them.
"How's it going bitches?! Care to repeat all that bullshit in front of me?"
"Allison, Allison, this isn't necessarily. Let's just go." Karl said, trying to pull her way but she wouldn't budge.
"Let go of me Karl! And as for you three, you think it's funny to make other people's lives a topic of your pathetic conversations huh?! Why don't you sit your wrinkled asses down and shut the FUCK UP!!!"
"Why's she acting so wild?"
"Isn't that Allison Hamilton?"
The whispers from the onlookers filtered into her ears but she was too angry to care.
"Which one of you called me a slut huh? Which one of you? I can't seem to remember, how about refreshing my memory, you goddamn fuckers! She yelled grabbing two wine glasses and pouring it on the women, soiling their clothes which caused the other guests to gasp and murmur in disapproval of her wild behavior.
"Alright feisty pants! Let's get you out of here!" Said Karl, dragging her by the arm away from the building.
"Let me go!"
"Let you go? You made a mess in there."
"Whatever I don't care. Let's go home." She said, unapologetically as she walked towards the car.
The next day when Allison woke up, she could see it was a few minutes past ten. Why was she waking up so late these days? What a crappy question! Obviously because Hades had denied her access to her own company and left her with nothing to do at home.
Son of a bitch! She thought, getting on her feet and walking to the bathroom.
"Miss Allison?" Sera called out to her once she was out of the bathroom.
"Yes, what is it?" She asked.
"Mr Lenshaw asked that I send for you."
"He's still home? Shouldn't he be at the office?"
"It seems he was waiting for you to wake up Miss. Whatever it is, it must be important."
"I'll be down in a few minutes."
"Well actually, he's waiting for you in his bedroom."
"Oh?" Her eyes shot up in surprise. The last time she went to his bedroom, it was a disaster! What does he want now? Surely not to ask her to....a small gasp escaped her lips. That wasn't possible, was it? But the odds were higher, given that he hadn't talked about the baby issue for four months now. Good lord, don't let it be!
With her heart in her throat, she went to his bedroom and knocked on the door. After receiving permission to enter, she could see him standing beside the study desk, more like leaning on it.
"You sent for me?" She asked, keeping a straight face.
"Oh yes, indeed."
"Well let's get this over with, what do you want this time?"
"Take a seat." He oddly offered her the chair behind the desk which she was rather skeptical about.
"Why? I don't want to take a..."
He smiled, hysterically "I believe I didn't make myself clear the first time. I said sit the fuck down Allison now!"
"Wh...what's wrong?" She flinched, frightened as she forced herself down on the chair.
"I'll tell you what's wrong alright." He said, holding both of the chair arm with his hands, trapping her as his eyes seemed to bore into her soul.
"I wake up this morning to my credit card missing and there's a loss of one million dollars."
"How would I know what the heck happened to your..."
"Fuck it Allison! Let's not make this any harder than it should be."
She bit her lips in defeat. "So what?"
So what? He was taken aback.
"What did you spend my money on?"
Allison looked away, avoiding his serpent eyes that were intimidating her.
"Answer me!"
"I went shopping and I attended Aden's Masked Ball."
He was further surprised. "You did all this just to....spite me?" Then his lips curled up in an amused smirk. "If it would make you feel any better, then feel free to milk my card dry darling."
"Wh..what?"
"I would have said this little act of yours was impressive but something happened at Aden's." His smile vanished and his expression turned displeased as he held a newspaper in front of her. Allison gasped in shock.
"Hamilton's Heir, Goes Berserk As She Assaults Party Guests."
"What the hell is this Allison?" He asked, frowning. "What are you planning to do? Make my job difficult?"
"No no no..." she yelled, upset, her eyes clouded with tears, threatening to shed.
"Then what is this? The fact that you're bent on destroying your reputation?"
"No! These people lied! The headlines did!"
"Oh did they or were you just being the usual spoiled princess? Do you really wish to see your company more and more in the mud?!"
"You had no idea what does low lives said to me! You weren't there so don't fucking judge me!"
"I don't care! The world doesn't care Allison so I expect you to stop acting childish."
"What?" How dare him?
"Don't make things any difficult for me Allison, just do what's best for you."
"And what's that?"
"Stay behind the scenes and lay low till the end of this contract."
"Are you calling me insi..."
"Insignificant? Yes, that's what your actions have shown so far."
Allison felt her heart bleed as his words as it cut her like a sharp knife. His serpent eyes and equally venomous words. She hurriedly left the bedroom before she ended up crying in front of him. She had that last bit of pride to herself and she won't give him the pleasure to seeing her so defeated. Where is he? Where's Karl? She needed him now. She needed a shoulder to lay a head on. Where Is Karl?
After several failed attempts and unanswered calls, Allison finally gave up, curling up on her bed and sobbing alone as the memories from her childhood filtered through her mind.
You pathetic little brat! You think you're loved? You think anyone will ever love you? Hahahaha! If anything you might as well just end up like me!
Mommy no, mommy please.
You're a cursed child! Just like that father of yours of you have brought nothing but misery to me!
Just then she heard the door to her room give way but she didn't bother to look up to see who it was.
"I'm sorry." She heard Karl apologize as He engulfed her in a warm hug.
"I saw your calls, I'm sorry I couldn't answer."
"Where the hell were you?" She burst out, crying on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. What happened?"
"Have you seen the news?"
"Yes, I did try to warn you Allison."
"Are saying this was my fault? Are you siding with that monster now?"
"No I'm not, I never will."
"Well then stop sounding like He did a few minutes ago."
"I'm sorry."
"It's fine. I'm only glad you're here, just stay here and don't go anywhere else."
"I won't." Karl said as she nestled closer to him, still sobbing faintly and it wasn't long before she fell asleep, eyelids still stained with tears. He brushed her red hair behind her ears tenderly.
"Maybe if you'd stop acting like the superwoman you're not to other people, then maybe they'd start having a little compassion towards you. Then maybe they'd stop seeing you as a spoiled rich kid." He whispered, softly.
Afterall, he used to think that of her too not until she opened herself to him. Until she started showing him this other side of her that was fragile and totally lovable. Maybe if she let Hades see this side of her too, he might just start seeing her in a different light. He might end up like him. And how did he end up? Why did the thought of Hades being close with her make him uncomfortable? With a smile, Karl pressed a kiss on her forehead.
"I certainly hope I'm not falling for you Miss Hamilton. That would be bad news considering my actual motive for coming into your life." Just then, his phone rang.
"Yes?"
"Roberts I'll need you back here by next week."
"What's new?"
"Someone has offered to help the boss out."
"What? Who?"
"Some lady. Just be here as soon as possible."
"I will."
Karl got up from bed and decided to walk around the mansion a bit. Finally, if this worked, his boss would be out and the real fun might as well begin. He was just coming down the stairs when a voice reached him.
"Karl Roberts?"
"Yes?"
It was Hades approaching him from the other end of the living room.
"I've noticed you've been a bit too comfortable with your boss lately."
"Outside the confines of work, we're friends." He curtly said.
"And does the friendship entails coming in and out of a married woman's bedroom so leisurely?"
Karl stared at him, speechless.
"You should learn your place in her life Mr Roberts. You're simply a bodyguard and nothing else."
"If that's what you think then good luck with it."
"Pardon?" Hades corked an eyebrow at the Man's insolence.
"You're causing her nothing but pain and misery. You're the one who should watch your place in her life."
"I see...if it must interest you, I don't need the service of a baby sitter for my wife"
"I beg your par..."
"....there are several things I would allow my wife the pleasure of but never a man-toy."
Karl stared at him, dumbstruck.
"Yes." Hades said, taking notice of his expression. "That's all she'll ever need you for. So buy yourself a brain incase you've lost yours." He added, as he walked away towards to stairs.
"Remember this is all just one big sham! Love cannot be forced."
Karl shot back causing Hades to stop in his pace.
"Maybe not but I can keep her long enough in this marriage to make sure nothing ever comes out of the two of you. You call my union with Allison a sham meanwhile, what you're trying to do is by far worse."
