CHAPTER 17- SADISTIC BASTARD

BRUTAL MINDS (A DARK ROMANCE)

A MONTH LATER

The Doreen Beach Resort, now renamed to D&A Beach Resort was to open the next day and Allison was planning to travel by the public plane that afternoon. The Lenshaw were going private and Davian had insisted she came with them but she didn't want to. However, the morning of that day, she woke up to a thousand missed calls from her half sisters. Which was very unlikely, they never called her, never even cared that much to see how she was doing so why?

Suddenly she had a sinking feeling in her stomach. What if..? What if her father had finally kicked the bucket? Or what if something bad had happened to one of them courtesy of Hades Lenshaw? Immediately, she hurried through her morning routines before driving off anxiously to her father's residence.

What's going on? She asked, surprised to see they were all seated waiting for her and not just that, a gentleman in a black suit was sitting down with a briefcase in his hand, there was also a file on the table. What could these four be up to?

Have a seat Allison, it's necessary for you to be present not that it matters anyway. Ruth said.

Who are you, sir? Allison asked.

Good morning miss Doreen, I'm Paul Brooks, your father's attorney.

What? Why did you send for him? Allison asked, not wanting to believe what was going on.

Our father is good as dead Allison, it's time the Will is read and we all move on. Lina answered in her sister's place.

I can't believe this! I can't believe all of you would put up with this crap! Father isn't dead and as long as He still has life in his body I will not....

You have no say in any of this Allison! Ivy cut in sharply. You're forgetting that you're an illegitimate child! Our father never officially got married to your harlot of a mother!

Don't you dare call her that!

Or what? Pearl asked. Or what Allison? Ivy was only saying the truth, isn't that what your mother was?

You should sit down and be grateful we were kind enough to let you in on this. Ruth said. Just stop making a scene Allison.

Kind enough? She was certain they had no choice but to call her because the lawyer insisted that all his client's children to be present before the proceedings began. At first, she wanted to storm out and never return but what did her dad used to say about making a decision in anger?

You always end up making a mess of things.

Allison sat down quietly.

It would seem Mr Edwin Doreen...The lawyer began...left his mansion to all five daughters, Ruth Doreen, Lina Doreen, Ivy Doreen, Pearl Doreen And Allison Doreen and for his other assets a total of just one property left.

Just one! They gasped. How? That's not possible.

Well it's sad to reveal that your father fell into a very sticky situation that He hid for years. He suffered a huge loss after an investment of Eight hundred million came crumbling before his eyes.

He was scammed. Ruth gasped in disbelief.

Indeed miss Doreen, having no other option, he had to survive on selling off his other possessions so now, it's just the company left.

Just the company...

Allison smiled to herself, her dear father kept the beach resort in Caribbean a secret. Obviously for the fear that her sisters might one day throw her out and leave her penniless, if that were to happen, she would still have a source of income. He loved her that much? A tear dropped from her eyes but she was quick to wipe it away.

So who was the company given to? Lina asked eagerly.

It says here that "I, Edwin Doreen For My Last Will and Testament, Wish To Bestow Doreen Corporations To My Last Daughter, Allison Doreen"

If eyes could throw knives, Allison was sure she would be good as dead by now with the way her sisters spitefully glared at her but she could care less, she had always seen it coming. Oh! If only her father could regain consciousness now and see what he's daughters were doing in his absence. There was a heated argument after the lawyer left. Ruth had threatened that she gave up the company to its rightful owner, whatever that meant in her point of view.

Oh yes I plan on giving it up, but the last thing I'll do is let you four ruin it, you know nothing about management so guess what I'll do instead?

They stared at each other, confused.

I'm shutting the damn place down!

Shut it down?

That bitch is out of her mind!

She can't do that can she?

What do we do Ruth?

That'll leave us penniless...

Allison could hear the whispers from her sisters as she left the living room. Was she going to go through with it? Hell yes! But only temporarily, five years or ten? Who knows? Oh darn it! This was going to make paying back to Lenshaw more difficult but she would do anything to get her sisters off her back for good! She was grateful her father left her the resort.

Her life was a literal chaos now and she had no choice but to run there for financial help, all the more why she hated this Man called Hades. Sadism was just his nature, he was pure evil and no one could convince her otherwise. She could now see where Davian got his share from but Hades was far worse. He was the sole reason why her father ended up like this, why her life was now a wreck and there wasn't a tinge of compassion in his eyes.

All thanks to him, her father was a no more than a breathing corpse and the Doreen Company was now bankrupt due to the outrageous amount of medical expenses. She was only shutting it down to save face in front of her sisters. Allison rested her head on her steering, exhausted and just letting the tears flow. She hated him so much, she wished she could suffocate him to death and she would sure take that option without a second thought if it ever came her way. "Sadistic Bastard"! She thought, spitefully.

DOA BEACH RESORT

CARRIBEAN

Arriving that very afternoon, Allison was more than glad to see the place packed full. The resort island was full of people, the men and women all in the usual swimsuits. The sun was up in the sky and most people were either swimming or in the bar not far off. There were several beach houses scattered around where the tourists would relax after a day or even serve them as accommodations for the holiday.

Paradise! She muttered to herself, smiling and feeling accomplished.

Everything was as it should be, the ocean, the bar, rum on tap, the unique sound of island music which did seductive things to the hot and humid late afternoon air and not to mention the people chattering away happily.

I promise to always keep this place alive, Dad. Allison thought. It wasn't long before a few members of the press rushed up to her in hopes of getting a statement about the newly reopened resort.

The Lenshaws arrived a few minutes after 2pm that afternoon and whilst Davian was busy being the supportive partner while He could, Hades decided to take a look at the bar. His chauffeur had already packed his few bags into one of the beach houses that He was supposed to be occupying for the next two weeks.

Seemingly from one vacation to the other.

He thought grimly as he sat by the  bar counter.

A Shot Of Whiskey...He told the bartender. The latter wasted no time in bringing his order.

Hades took a gulp of the wine, He felt the harshness of the liquor burn down his throat as it swirled through his bloodstream. He sighed contentedly. He could feel his muscles starting to relax, like a storm blowing itself out. Argh screw it all! Why was he always so tense lately?

You alright there mate?

He heard a man say as the latter sat beside him, ordering himself a drink. Barely sparing the bugger a look, Hades focused on the ice cubes floating in his wine tumbler.

Hades...?

He glanced at the man beside him.

Do I Know You? He asked, looking uninterested.

I'll be goddamned! It is you! The latter exclaimed, excitedly.

Hades peered at the man, it was all finally coming back to him.

Bruce?

His eyes flicked with gladness at the sight of a familiar face after ten years. Atleast a familiar face that didn't make his stomach twitch. He had come to realize that everyone and everything irritated him but not his old chap, Bruce. They had been buddies since high-school, no more like brothers. It was funny how they were so close because they were both completely opposites of each other, while Hades was a reserved person, Bruce was the loud one, "the life of the party sort of person. Whilst Hades was logical, Bruce believed in instincts and the thrill of just letting your imaginations flow and going for it.

They had fought several battles, both meager and great, both relevant and irrelevant. Bruce had been the only one who understood the plight He had with his Father. Who understood his situation with Venice, who stood head strong by him throughout her funeral and everything afterwards, until that day He decided he was done with the world and now finally reuniting with him after a decade, He was more than glad. Maybe coming here wasn't a bad idea after-all, at the end of the day He had his pet to thank for that.

How long has it been Man?

Ten Years? Hades shrugged, taking another sip from his wine, this time it wasn't so bad like the first time.

It's been hell of a long time.

Yeah.

Fancy seeing you here.

I Could Say The Same. How's It Been?

Great! Although...

Did Something Go Wrong?

Yes...Rio's dead!

Hades smiled.

Finally! The Almighty Be Praised.

That's cruel Man, I loved the damn bird! said Bruce, feigning hurt.

I'm Only Sorry, I Didn't Get To Kill The Pesky Parrot Myself. Atleast Now My Ears Won't Bleed Everytime I Step Into Your House.

Bruce chuckled. It's good to have you back Man.

And With Your Parrot Dead, I Can Finally Say The Same.

Sadistic bastard! Bruce cussed, smiling.

The next two days passed by very quickly. It was night and the cool sea breeze was already blowing off the sea to the land. While everyone had already fallen asleep in their respective beach houses, Davian found it difficult to get some rest.

What the hell?

I shut the company down.

Allison how could you?!

What? It was my decision, I know what I'm doing.

I don't think you do.

A heated argument had erupted between the two the previous day.  Davian was anything but pleased that Allison had given up the company which left her wondering why he bothered so much. Maybe because he was thinking about her best interest? He was so upset, he got violent with her again. The phone rang and He reached out to it.

Yes?

How's your progress going so far?

It's been from one hell of a twist from the other. He said, upset.

We told you things would be far much worse when He comes back but you just wouldn't listen.

And how the fuck was I supposed to know the bastard would suddenly resurface after ten goddamn years! Davian barked into the phone, reaching for a bottle of Vodka on the table.

All that matters now is that he's back and you can't afford to bow to him again.

Never! He spat. I thought I had time urgh! He gulped down half the content of the wine.

Well we can be sure there's no way we can break into the gold mine a second time like we did before. Not to mention the gold bars was taken from us the very next day. The man at the other end said.

The sneaky bastard! Never mind the gold, I still have the money safe and sound.

How were you able to get your hands on two hundred million?

I told him it was suffered from a business loss. Davian shrugged.

I see and how's that Doreen lady coming along?

Allison? Seems the initial plan of adding her wealth to mine, might not work out well.

Huh? Why? Did something go wrong?

She shut down Doreen Corp.

Ah bullshit!

Exactly! But anyways I have a feeling everything will turn out fine.

Hades was just a scrawny bastard my grandfather picked from a wretched old orphanage. Davian thought spitefully. The mistake was already made before Henry discovered He had a son somewhere in Czech for a one nightstand, He had no idea until He showed up years later with Davian who was ten years then and Hades was already thirteen.

However, Henry's own son, died months later, leaving him with Davian and Hades. Henry had chosen Hades to succeed him because although He might not be his direct blood, but atleast Hades had the rigidity that Davian didn't. Hades had no place with the Lenshaws neither should he have a say in the family business and if push came to shove, Davian was willing to get the rest of the family on his side. Afterall, He had the Lenshaw blood flowing in his veins whereas, Hades was only privileged by adoption.

"Wretched Bastard"
