Now that You have MeTM

Chapter 18: A Vacation to Remember

The day Sincere had been waiting for had finally arrived. It wasn't just any day—it was his birthday, and for once, there was no business, no plans, no past to haunt him. Just a fresh start. A two-week cruise with Aphoria, their closest friends, and nothing but open ocean ahead.

Sincere stood at the edge of the balcony of their luxury suite, looking out over the vast, glittering sea. The city had seemed so small compared to this. He had left all the weight behind him, along with the dark nights and silent decisions. Now, the only thing on his mind was the woman next to him and the friends who'd become his family.

Aphoria stepped onto the balcony, her face lit up by the sunset, her smile brighter than the golden hour around them. She wrapped her arms around his waist from behind, resting her chin against his shoulder. "Happy birthday, baby," she whispered, her voice smooth and warm like honey. "I hope today is everything you deserve."

He turned, pulling her into his arms, his fingers gently brushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "You're already making it perfect."

She leaned up and kissed him softly, a moment of pure intimacy amidst the backdrop of the ocean's rhythm. The world seemed to stand still. Everything that had weighed them down—the lies, the secrets, the pain—was now just something to look back on, with no room in their present.

"You've got all my attention for two weeks, you know that?" Sincere grinned, his eyes dark and sincere, a teasing hint in his voice.

Her lips curved into a smile as she leaned into him, the steady pulse of his heartbeat grounding her. "I plan on holding you to that," she murmured.

Later that evening, the deck of the ship became a playground for their group of friends.

Jasmine and Savannah  were laughing together as they snapped photos on their phones, making silly poses by the railing, their brightly colored dresses swaying with the breeze.

"I'm telling you," Jasmine said, her voice loud enough to catch Sincere's ear, "if you don't take me to that fancy dinner tonight, I'll find someone else to show me a good time." She grinned and tossed a playful wink at Aphoria, who raised her brows from the edge of the bar.

Sincere chuckled, eyeing her with a smirk. "Do I need to worry about your girlfriend flirting with my girl?" he asked ice

Jasmine laughed, tossing her hair over her shoulder. "Only if you're not treating her right."

Aphoria rolled her eyes but couldn't hide the smile spreading across her face. "I think I'm just fine," she said, grabbing Sincere's hand and pulling him toward the restaurant. The other couples followed, the night quickly becoming filled with laughter and the gentle clink of glasses.

The dinner was a celebration—Sincere's birthday, but it felt more like a celebration of the life they'd all built together. Ice and Blu joked around with each other about the most ridiculous stories from their past. Savannah and Jasmine recounted a few wild nights that made everyone laugh. It was all carefree—nothing to worry about, nothing to fear.

As the night wound down, and the group made their way to the upper deck for a midnight stroll, Sincere found himself walking with Aphoria at his side. The cool breeze carried the scent of the sea, the lights of the ship casting a gentle glow on her face.

"This is what it should've always been like," he said, his voice low but filled with contentment.

She glanced at him, her eyes searching his face. "What do you mean?"

Sincere took her hand, lacing their fingers together. "No stress. No secrets. Just us, living our lives without the past dragging us down."

She squeezed his hand, leaning her head against his shoulder as they walked. "It's the way it's supposed to be, Sincere."

And for the first time in a long time, he truly believed that. He looked over at their friends—Ice, Blu, Tech, Jasmine, and Savannah—all laughing and enjoying the night as the ship sailed under the stars—and knew that this was the beginning of something new. No more running. No more hiding. Just love, just the present, and the future waiting ahead.

Later that night, after a long day of dancing, exploring the island stops, and laughing over drinks, they all gathered on the deck for one final toast. The moon was high above, casting silver ripples across the water.

Sincere stood up, tapping his glass to get everyone's attention. "To new beginnings," he said, his voice filled with gratitude. "To friends who are family, to the woman who keeps me grounded, and to the future we're all building together."

Aphoria smiled, a warmth in her eyes that made Sincere's heart beat just a little faster. She raised her glass, matching his gaze.

"To us," she said softly, her voice full of meaning.

They clinked glasses, and for the first time in a long time, Sincere felt like everything had finally fallen into place.

The past was behind them, and the future was wide open. And for the next two weeks, there was nothing but the sound of the waves, the laughter of their friends, and the feeling of Aphoria's hand in his.

The night was alive on the deck of the ship, the sounds of the ocean blending with music and laughter from all around. Blu, always ready to stir things up, leaned back in his chair and grinned at the group.

"Ayo, let's switch things up," he said, flicking a finger toward the circle. "Truth or dare, y'all. Time to spill some tea."

Sincere smirked, already guessing this would be interesting. "Dare," he replied without hesitation. He wasn't one to shy away from a challenge, especially with Aphoria sitting just a few feet away.

Blu's grin got wider. "Bet. I dare you to kiss Aphoria. On the lips, no soft stuff. Make it real."

Aphoria raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on her lips. She wasn't surprised—this was Blu after all. But the dare made her pulse spike a little. She turned to Sincere, eyes narrowing in playful defiance. "You ready to show off, huh?"

Sincere laughed low and easy, rolling his neck. "You think I'm scared of a little kiss?" he shot back, voice laced with that unshakable confidence.

The group leaned in, sensing the playful tension between them. Tech raised his eyebrows, "Yo, this is about to get good."

Sincere stood up, stretching, before walking slowly toward Aphoria, like he was in no rush. He hovered in front of her, tilting his head as his fingers lightly brushed her chin. "You're lucky it's you," he said, his voice just above a whisper.

She tilted her head up, meeting his gaze with that challenge in her eyes. "Lucky, huh?" she teased, but there was no hiding the heat between them.

He leaned in closer, his hand on the side of her neck, giving her just enough space to feel the tension in the air. The world seemed to slow down as he lowered his lips to hers, and for a moment, everything faded except the heat of their kiss. It was everything the dare called for: bold, fiery, and with that little bit of attitude that made it real. The kiss deepened, slow at first, testing the connection, then it escalated, full of passion, all of the underlying feelings they hadn't voiced until now.

When they pulled away, the sound of the ocean seemed a little louder. Aphoria's lips were swollen, eyes dark with desire, and Sincere's chest was rising a little quicker.

"Damn, that was... something," Jasmine said with a raised brow, clearly impressed. "Wasn't expecting all that."

Sincere looked down at Aphoria, his smile a little smug. "Had to make it count," he said, voice rougher than usual.

Aphoria let out a short laugh, her breath still coming out in soft pants. "Yeah, you definitely did," she replied, voice hushed, but there was a spark in her eyes.

Blu, grinning ear to ear, slapped his knee. "Yo, that was fire." He looked at Ice and Tech. "We got a new couple goals right here."

Tech raised his glass, laughing. "Man, we're just trying to have a chill night, and y'all turn it into a rom-com."

... later

The night was winding down, the music dimming, and their friends starting to drift off to their rooms. Sincere stood next to the cake for a moment, cutting the last slice, smiling as the cheers faded away, the echo of the celebration now quiet in the background. But even with all the noise, it was clear that he wasn't thinking about the party anymore. His mind was elsewhere—on the woman standing beside him.

Aphoria stood near the edge of the room, glancing out over the city, her eyes glimmering in the soft light. There was something in her posture, the way she held herself, that said everything about how she was feeling. Calm. At peace. He could tell, though, that she was only half there. She was waiting for something—waiting for him.

As the last of their friends trickled away, the energy in the room shifted. Blu and Ice were off to find another after-party. Jasmine, Savannah, and the others had their own plans. But for Sincere and Aphoria, the night was just beginning.

"Guess it's just you and me now," he said, his voice low, almost like an invitation.

Aphoria looked over at him, a knowing smile curling on her lips. "And I couldn't think of anything better."

Sincere's eyes lingered on her for a moment, letting the silence settle in before he made his move. He walked over to her, his footsteps slow, deliberate. When he reached her, he placed his hand on her shoulder, gently turning her toward him.

"I wasn't planning on anything else tonight," he said, his voice soft but with an edge of something deeper. He wasn't saying it to tease—he meant it. The kind of night that was meant for two, where time didn't exist and everything outside of that room ceased to matter.

Her gaze flickered, a mix of warmth and something far more knowing. "Neither was I."

There was a pause, a beat where their worlds collided, and then it was just them. No words needed. He slid his hand to the back of her neck, pulling her gently in. Their lips met, soft at first, as if testing the waters—but it didn't take long before the kiss deepened. It wasn't just lust—it was a connection.

When they finally pulled apart, they didn't say anything. No need to. The intensity in the air said everything they needed to know. Sincere ran his hand through his hair, trying to steady himself. "You know you're all I need right now."

Aphoria's voice was quiet but firm. "I know. And you're all I've ever wanted."

Sincere smirked, the tension in his chest easing just a little as he took a step back and gestured toward the couch. "Come on. Let's just sit for a bit."

They made their way over, and as they sat together, the world outside faded. The steady hum of the city, the soft lapping of the waves against the ship, everything became background noise to the quiet they shared. She leaned her head on his shoulder, and for a while, they just sat there, the comfort of each other's presence enough to settle them both.

"You're sure about this, right?" Sincere asked, his voice softer now, like he wanted to be sure. Wanted to make sure she knew what was coming next, that this wasn't just a fleeting moment.

Aphoria lifted her head from his shoulder, her eyes locking with his. "I've never been more sure of anything."

It wasn't just about tonight. It was about the life they were slowly starting to build, the relationship they had. Sincere knew the world outside could be unpredictable, and nothing in life was certain, but in that moment, with her sitting beside him, he felt like he could face anything.

He kissed her again, this time slower, deeper, like he was savoring it. Every second. Every touch. Every inch of her. The kiss was an anchor, a way to tell her everything he'd never put into words. That no matter the struggles, the ups, the downs, they would be fine—together.

When they finally parted, Aphoria's smile was soft, her eyes slightly closed, still lost in the sensation of his touch. She reached up, brushing a stray lock of hair from his face, fingers lingering on his skin.

"You know," she whispered, her voice barely above a breath, "this is all I want."

Sincere's heart tightened at the sincerity in her words. "It's all I want too."

For the rest of the night, they stayed in that space between worlds. Not rushing, not forcing anything. Just two people who had come through so much, now sitting together in peace. The city buzzed outside, but here—inside this room, with the door shut and the lights dimmed—it was just them. No distractions. No worries.

After a while, Sincere stood up and moved toward the window. He took in the view of the city, the lights reflecting on the water below, but his mind was still on Aphoria. She was his everything now.

Turning back toward her, he walked over and extended his hand. "Come here," he said softly, almost like he didn't want to disturb the calm they'd created, but needed to feel her close again.

Aphoria smiled up at him, taking his hand, and stood. She didn't need to ask where he was leading her. She knew.
