Ch47 - He Really Likes You

Evil does not dare to touch righteous energy.

When Lan Gaojie walked into the cafeteria and heard Lu Xu say that, and even smiled when he said it, he didn’t know if it was coincidence or on purpose.

“Lai Chengshan really is trash, luckily Xu ge is favoured by heaven in luck.”

“That’s right, I think those who engage in sorcery really have something wrong with their brain. They’d have caused their own deaths sooner or later.”

Everyone was discussing the Lai Chengshan incident. Lan Gaojie’s teammates were no exception. Training in closed-off quarters was already very tiring, so gossip was the best way to relieve stress.

However Lan Gaojie didn’t feel like that was the case. He felt that these people were implying something else with their words.

“That’s about enough, the person is already dead, don’t talk so much about it.”

Seeing Lan Gaojie say that with a sullen face. His teammates looked at one another with uncertainty, then they pursed their lips and didn’t say anything else.

With regards to a team, having a good captain was a very fortunate thing.

When people looked at Lu Xu, and then looked at their own captain, they could only say that different people had different fates, and could only admire.

After Lu Xu had seemed to casually toss that sentence out, he didn’t look at Lan Gaojie again. He just turned his head around to listen to Song Zhe and the others gossip about matters related to the competition. His mouth carried a comfortable smile.

After breakfast, the trainees gathered together, and went to the practise studio to prepare for filming.

Lu Xu had just entered the third floor when he saw the F4 rush forward with delighted smiles.

He Xinghua was smiling so hard his eyes nearly disappeared. He floated in front of Lu Xu, turned a full circle and laughed happily. “Master Lu Xu, look, I’ve changed into a new uniform!”

The teammate beside him also couldn’t help but echo, “Me too me too, aaaah. My previous clothes had been worn for so many years, it’s really terrible when you think about it.”

When Tao Yingbo heard that, he was unhappy and immediately said, “You’ve only been dead a few years. I’ve been dead for ten years, and have been wearing the same clothes for ten years, but have I said anything?”

“Master Lu Xu, look, this is the personal autograph that Nian ge burned for me, and it’s even addressed to me!” Dai Zijin was happier than anyone else, and couldn’t resist showing Lu Xu the signature.

He Xinghua immediately became a lemon, and smiled tightly, “Okay okay, I know Nian ge addressed the autograph to you, please don’t provoke us, okay? If I had known earlier that Nian ge was so kind, I would have asked for an autograph too.”

Tao Yingbo was at the side, contemplating. “Hm, if we can really get whatever we want, I hope that Nian ge can give me a girlfriend…”

“Ai!” The others sighed when they heard that, gave him a disgusted look then laughed. “Then I’m afraid you might have to trouble Nian ge to burn a bicycle pump, hahaha.”

Speak of the devil and he shall appear.

Once the F4 had mentioned Ji Xiunian, he appeared in the corridor.

“Nian ge!” The F4 immediately greeted him excitedly and didn’t forget to thank him.

With the smiles on their faces and their clothes which were the same uniforms that the other trainees wore, if it weren’t for their floating legs, they looked no different from everyone else.

There were quite a lot of people in the corridor, so Ji Xiunian obviously wouldn’t react to them. He just took the opportunity while he was greeting someone else to smile and say, “The clothes make you look handsome.”

“Nian ge personally burned it for me, is it possible to not be handsome?” The F4 were very conscious about it, and immediately started the flattery.

Lu Xu couldn’t help but laugh as he stood by the side, and nodded towards Ji Xiunian. “Nian ge, good morning.”

“Good morning.” When Ji Xiunian looked at Lu Xu, the corner of his lips unconsciously curved upwards. After all, he had gotten a hard-earned good night’s sleep thanks to him. “Ba Mei is in my room. I fed it before I came out, no need to worry.”

When he thought about Ba Mei’s enthusiasm for Ji Xiunian, Lu Xu suddenly suspected if this cat had found itself a temporary meal ticket. “Okay, Nian ge. I’ve troubled you.”

“No trouble, no trouble at all.” Ji Xiunian laughed when he heard that, an inexplicable warmth appearing on his expression. “I really like Ba Mei.”

Xu Lele was standing at the side. He looked at Ji Xiunian, then looked at Lu Xu. He felt that there was something going on between the two that he didn’t know about.

The relationship between humans was a mysterious thing. With one glance, it was clear that Ji Xiunian and Lu Xu had gotten a lot closer.

Xu Lele waited for Ji Xiunian to go to the instructor’s team to discuss the program schedule, then sidled up to Lu Xu’s side. “Xu ge, Xu ge, you relationship with Ji Xiunian is pretty good now.”

Lu Xu raised his brows. “Is it?”

“It is!” Xu Lele nodded his head vigorously, and said with much confidence, “Just now, Ji Xiunian smiled at you three times. Three times! During the filming of one episode, he doesn’t even smile that many times. I think he really likes you.”

Likes the grim reaper?

Lu Xu couldn’t understand Xu Lele’s thought process. He shrugged his shoulders and said, “Where does he like me? He obviously likes my cat.”

Once Ba Mei was mentioned, Xu Lele felt eager, and couldn’t help but agree. “Everyone who sees Ba Mei loves it, try and ask who doesn’t love such a cute little kitty?”

The two of them spoke until they arrived at the practise studio. Many people were gathered according to their groups.

The ability teams and the effort teams were two different groups and stood on the left and right side of the instructors respectively.

Seeing Lu Xu stand across from himself, Xu Haoming said, “Xu ge, wait for me, next time we’ll strive to be in the same group.”

Someone beside him laughed. “Haoming, aren’t you afraid of getting beat up by saying that? Zhe ge is your captain.”

Xu Haoming wasn’t embarrassed and immediately replied, “Our dorm will be together. Xu ge, Zhe ge, I love them all, okay?”

The people around him waved their hands, not wanting to think about the image depicted at all. “Please don’t! You’re all so strong, any one of you could crush us, if you’re in the same group then we’re done for.”

Lu Xu just laughed as he listened to them talk. He felt someone’s gaze on him and tilted his head, and saw Lan Gaojie watching him with a complicated expression.

The two of them drew the PK sign, which meant that they would lead their teams in a duel in the next performance.

Lu Xu had always had a nonchalant vibe and looked to be very relaxed. The more he was like that, the more pressured Lan Gaojie was.

He really wanted to win, to stand on the stage and make everyone see him, acknowledge him and like him.

But after seeing Lu Xu’s performance, he knew that this was a very strong opponent.

He was supposed to be a newbie who didn’t have much training experience, but whether it was in singing or in dancing, he got an A-rank in all of it.

Talent was an invisible and intangible thing, but it was something that allowed people to feel the existence of admiration.

That was what Lan Gaojie thought, and he unconsciously clenched his fist. He wanted to win. He had to win.

Nobody would stop him, not even Lu Xu.

Lan Gaojie looked at Lu Xu with a fierce gaze, obviously seeing him as a very strong opponent.

But Lu Xu was different.

Lai Chengshan was a stowaway, one order that could top dozens of others.

After sending away a Lai Chengshan, a Lan Gaojie came along. This month’s quota was guaranteed.

The corner of Lu Xu’s mouth twitched upwards, totally ignoring Lan Gaojie’s hostility. This reaction of his made Lan Gaojie confused, and he immediately avoided his gaze–– This person was really very strange. Sometimes it felt like Lu Xu was targeting him, other times it felt like Lu Xu was longing for him.

Lan Gaojie also didn’t know why he himself thought this way. He just felt that, whatever it was, it was better to keep a distance from Lu Xu.

Very soon, the filming officially began.

Liang Da took the microphone and walked to the centre. First, he gave the opening remarks, then looked at the four instructors and said, “Our first performance is divided into the ability team and the effort team. Now let’s invite our four instructors to choose the teams. When it’s time, you will be the head of the team, and lead each of your teams into the competition.”

The ability team captain was based on length of practise time, the effort team captain was based on their strength.

When choosing their teams, the trainees had fought to be in the ability team, so everyone was biased towards the ability team.

Liang Da’s gaze fell on the fourth instructors, and he unconsciously smiled, “Xiunian, between the ability and effort team, please choose one group you want to be the head for.”

Whatever it was, Ji Xiunian had been specially invited by Fan Zeng, and it was because of that that he wanted to give him the first pick. Although there wasn’t a fixed script to the instructor’s choices, the strength of the ability team was obviously very good. Ji Xiunian, as the biggest hotshot, had the first pick. As long as he chose the ability team, it was more or less a guaranteed win.

No one wanted to lose, the instructors must also think the same.

“Nian ge will definitely choose the ability team.”

“Yeah, if it were me, I would choose the ability team too.”

Nearly everyone thought that Ji Xiunian would pick the ability team, even Lu Xu thought the same.

However when the camera returned to Ji Xiunian, it saw him weighing between the two groups for a moment, before his gaze landed on Lu Xu. “I choose the effort team.”
