Chapter 267
Triplets on Secret Mission
Chapter 267 Molly felt slightly better after pouring everything out to Sean.
She took a deep breath along with another sip of wine. âShe treats me like that, but Iâm still hesitating now. Arenât I pathetic?â she said slowly. She found it laughable, though she did not know what he was thinking.
The May family was heartless toward her, and she was something insignificant to them, something they could throw away when they did not want her anymore.
Her existence was not even on the same level as Diana, a person who was totally unrelated to them.
âWhy? Being swapped at birth was not my mistake. I am the one who should be sadder than anyone.â
The May family never liked her and did not want to take her in as their own. Even her mother, Lara, would always belittle and accuse her.
Was Molly unbothered by those? No, she was probably bothered by it. For that exact reason, Molly still shouldered everything and fought against them.
But Laraâs days are numbered...â When Molly thought about that, she started to feel pressured again. âWhat does her life have got to do with me? I donât want to care! Who am I to care?!
Molly immediately downed a bottle of wine.
Sean wanted to stop her when he saw it but stopped mid-way.
He knew Molly was thinking about something, so he did not want to say anything noble likeâ saving a life is like saving the world.â
He had seen how the May family treated Molly a few times, and it was already enough for him to know how badly they were treating her. Not forgetting the mental torture in the past, when Mollyâs name was tarnished and she had to be kicked out of the house and left abroad alone. However, she still had to endure their countless insults when she came back...
Sean knew that if he was in Mollyâs shoes, he would never be able to forgive the people who hurt him.
âYour decision isnât pathetic.â
He looked away and did not stop Molly from drinking. âYou donât have to feel guilty for anyone. You donât owe them anything.
They are the ones who are indebted to you. Itâs fine even if you donât help them, and no one has the right to condemn you for it.
They were the ones who treated you badly in the first place. You reap what you sow.â The air was quiet for a while, and Sean thought that Molly did not hear him. But when he turned to her, he realized that Molly was blinking at him in shock.
Molly said, âI didnât know you knew how to console someone.â A smile grew on her face. Seanâs lips curled up when he saw Mollyâs smile as he took a sip of juice. Molly was feeling better with Seanâs company and his comforting words. âYouâre right. I donât need to feel guilty. They should reap what they sow, and Iâm no saint,â Molly said as she started a casual conversation with Sean After some time, Molly had finished half of the bottle of wine. She still wanted another glass, but Sean extended his arms and stopped her. His cold, wide hand was on hers, but it was not cold. Molly could still feel the warmth of his palm.
She was stunned. âThatâs enough. Youâre not good with alcohol, and I canât carry you if you get drunk later,â Sean joked.
He could not forget how Molly blacked out after one drink at the Forts familyâs party. It was taxing. However, Seanâs ears turned suspiciously pink as he thought of the time when Molly was drunk.
But Molly did not notice it and smiled. âItâs alright, I took some pills before I drink, so I wonât get drunk tonight.
