Chapter 517
Even After Death
Lydia was shocked. She didnât know that Ethan had married a woman like that. Her flight was late on
the day of Ethanâs wedding. She saw on the news that Ethan had eloped with another woman, but
Oliviaâs picture wasnât provided.
She thought it was too much of a coincidence. Her expression was one of fascination. She was still
hung up on Olivia being her cousin-in-law.
Ethan looked at the crowd and said, âThereâs nothing to see here.â
The crowd quickly dispersed after he said that. They didnât even dare to take another peek.
The door was closed. Ethan wanted to settle this family dispute in private.
Lydia had been slapped twice, causing them to be red and swollen now. She still felt upset. âEthan, are
you really married to this woman? What about Nikki? She has been waiting for you all along. She was
already devastated when she heard you were marrying Marina. Ifâ¦â
Nikki? That was another woman that Olivia hadnât heard of. But she was no longer interested in Ethanâs
colorful past.
Ethan cut Lydia off coldly and said, âI told you to apologize to Liv.â
Lydia had always been afraid of Ethan. But Ethan had always been good to his cousins, even though
he was cold by nature. However, he had slapped her for this womanâs sake.
She was upset, but she didnât dare to anger Ethan anymore. She said, âIâm sorry, Olivia. I didnât know
who you were just now. I apologize.â
Î
âI accept your apology, and you donât have to think of me as your cousin-in-law. Tyler and I have been
divorced for a long time.â
Olivia proceeded to ignore Lydia. She went to the side of the window. The auction was starting.
Lydiaâs eyes lit up. âEthan, you two are divorced? Itâs no wonder you never announced her to the
public. I knew a woman like her wasnât good enough for you. Nikki is the best woman for youâ¦â
âShut up. One more word and Iâll have you sent home.â
âDonât do that, Ethan. Iâm here to auction for something. Iâll shut up. Please donât be angry.â
Ethan glared at her and said, âStay put.â
âOkay.â
The woman was so arrogant before, but now, she was like a docile little kitten before Ethan.
Ethan went to sit next to Olivia. She turned her body to the side so that she wouldnât see him. Ethan
was the one who began to feel uneasy. His relationship with Olivia was weird now. They used to be so
close, but they had become something like frenemies. They had drifted apart like strangers.
The opening ceremony started, breaking the awkward tension between them. The items were being
auctioned off one by one. Every single item made the crowd go wild.
Olivia wasnât interested in antiques, but she kept hearing Lydiaâs exclamations of surprise.
Olivia started to feel drowsy as the auction went on.
Ethan saw that she was tired, so he suggested, âYou should lie down for a while. Iâll help you bid for the
items you want.â
âNo need,â Olivia said coldly.
Lydia slammed her hand on the table and stood up. âWhy are you being so difficult? Ethan is talking to
you so humbly. You should watch your attitude.â,
âShut up!â
âEthan, this woman is too domineering. Sheâs nothing compared to Nikki. Youâre already divorced. You
donât need to stand up for her. We donât even know whose baby sheâs carrying.
âBefore you came, I saw her flirting with the man from the next room. If she could do that in broad
daylight, who knows what sheâd do when no oneâs watching?â
