Chapter 313
Even After Death
Olivia frowned deeply at the sudden kiss. Ethanâs touch was repulsive to her.
Before she pushed him away, he had withdrawn himself from her.
It was a light touch without much excessive sense of possession.
âIt is kinda spicy.â He stroked her head as gently as always.
It was fortunate that Oliviaâs plan worked.
She stared at him. âWhat are you going to do with Colin?â
After her suicide attempt, he didnât dare to say anything cruel.
He replied, âIâm going to let him go. Donât worry. I wonât hurt him.â
Now that he had learned his lesson, Olivia decided to let him off the hook.
She held his hand and softened her voice, âI promised you that I wouldnât leave Aldenvine, but I didnât
expect myself to be kidnapped.
âDo you know how scared I was when I was kidnapped?â
Ethan wrapped his arms around her waist. His low voice resounded above her. âI felt the same.â
âShe was seriously driving me to the edge. If I had not noticed something was off and hid a knife, I
couldâve died in her hands.
She clenched his shirt. âI believe that youâve noticed a few problems based on my tip-off.
âLetâs put the question of whether my father had killed Leia aside. Itâs obvious that thereâs a third party
involved in this
matter.
âShe doesnât want to hurt you but wants me dead. Sheâs the mastermind for whatever that had
happened for the past two
years.â
Ethan caressed her head. It pained him to see her suffer. âYeah, I know.
âThat person has planted a few spies around me. Her men retreated after you fell into the sea.â
He didnât tell her about his investigation process. Instead, he comforted her patiently, âLiv, I will get to
the bottom of it. Your father was taken away a few days ago. Was that Colinâs doing?â
Olivia knew that Jeff was safe with Colin. Colin was the only person that wouldnât hurt her.
She couldnât trust Ethan before the truth came to light..
She shook her head. âColin wanted to save my father for me, but I heard that the scene was a mess
that day. There were a lot of people. We didnât know who took my father away. Someone wounded
Colinâs back, too.â
âYou mean he was at the scene and was hurt in the back?â
âYes.â
Noticing the doubt in his eyes, she added, âI saw his injury with my own eyes. I owe him.â
Ethan said, âGot it. I wonât hurt Colin. As for your father, I will find out where he is. He should be safe for
now.â
After all, Jeff was able to sustain with the help of machine and IV drips.
Killing him off wouldnât have needed so much sacrifice. It couldâve been done with a lift of a finger.
He was a trump card. No matter which party it was, it wasnât the time to use him yet.
She nodded, and Ethan caressed her cheek.
He softened his voice. âLiv, believe me or not, whatever that has happened today wasnât what I wished
for. I will never hurt you again.â
Olivia asked seriously, âIf my father wasnât Leiaâs murderer, what would you do?â
His expression changed at that question. His tone became cold.
âLiv, even if thereâs a third party involved in this matter, your fatherâs DNA matches with the baby in
Leiaâs belly.
âThe result of the DNA test is in my safe. If you donât believe it, you can read it yourself after we return
home.â
Knowing what she was going to say next, he said, âI didnât bury the premature baby. Iâ¦â
Olivia felt her skin crawling. âWhat did you do with it?â
âIt was Leiaâs baby, so I asked someone to make it into a specimen.â
Loathe grew in her as she deemed him perverted.
He ignored her expression. âDonât worry. No matter what the truth is, I will make sure to give you an
answer.â
