Chapter 55
Fated to Them (book 1+2)
Read Fated to Them by Jessica Hall Chapter 55 â Waking in the morning, I find I am laying half on Eliâs chest. I sit up looking down at him. Cyrus moves beside me before tugging me towards him as he snuggles himself against my back.
âMorning Loveâ He whispers, kissing below my ear.
âMorningâ I replied, yawning. I had the best sleep last night and their bed was so much bigger than being squished in mine back home.
âWhat do you want to do this morning?â Cyrus asks.
âDonât we need to go to work?â
âYes eventually but one plus side to being the owner of the company, we can choose when we do and donât want to workâ Cyrus tells me and I nod.
My thoughts going to Maya, did Taylor get her ready for school, and pack her lunch. My morning routine felt strange now that it was no longer mine.
Sitting up, I go to climb over Cyrus and hop out of bed.
âWhere are you going?â
âI want to message Taylor to check on Mayaâ I tell him but he doesnât let go of my hip. He turns slightly, reaching for the bedside table and I see my phone. He grabs it and hands it to me.
âI already messaged her off your phone, Maya is at school alreadyâ Cyrus says and I flick my phone screen on. I see it is nearly 10 oâclock. I go to my messages and see he did in fact message Taylor and that all was well back home, Taylor even sent what she packed for her lunch and a picture of Maya eating her cereal.
âHappy? now lay back downâ He says pulling me on top of his chest. His fingers running up and down my spine, the familiar tingles spreading over my flesh make me shiver. Eli was snoring loudly, making me wonder how I never noticed how loud he was before.
âDoes he always snore like a b****y chainsaw?â I ask, wondering how I didnât notice it before.
âOnly when he sleeps on his back, sounds like a freight train. I have often thought of smothering him in his sleepâ Cyrus answers before laughing. I reach over pegging his nose. Eliâs eyes fly open a growl escaping him before he rolls on his side.
âMorningâ He says his eyes flutter shut again and his hand goes to Cyrusâ chest. I rest my chin on it not wanting to move now. I was warm here and snuggled up with them.
Reluctantly I hop up, walking over to my bag I grab my tooth brush and walk into the bathroom to brush my teeth. Looking in the mirror, I notice my mark is slightly different, almost silver in colour. Cyrus walks into the bathroom behind me and turns the shower on. He looks over at me and I catch his eyes in the mirror. âWhy does my mark look different, it was red before now itâs turning silver like Eliâsâ I tell him.
âBecause we had s*x, once I mark you and Eli has s*x with you it will change again become darker.
After you go into heat and we mate you, it will turn goldâ He says.
âWhy gold yours is a grey silver colorâ
âBecause youâre female, until it turns gold you can still break the bondâ
âI thought it couldnât be broken if both of you mark meâ
âYes true, but to fully mark you we have to mate you, and remark you. The process isnât complete unless we mark you during s*x. Make sense?â
âNot allâ I tell him, resuming brushing my teeth.
âDoesnât mating mean I have to become pregnant?â I ask.
âThatâs what it used to mean, but we can mate you and mark you instead of impregnating you. Children are now forbidden until the council gives the go ahead againâ
âOkay you lost meâ I tell him.
âIt used to be that you would have to fall pregnant, to be fully bonded. Well thatâs what everyone thought until we found out when the female goes in heat if we use protection and remark them the bond solidifiesâ
âSo heat like a dog?â Cyrus chuckles.
âNo, it just means you are fertile. We canât make you fall pregnant unless you are in heat. Not like humans when they can just stick their dicks in anything and impregnate the womanâ
âSo how often does heat happen then?â
âOnce a year, sometimes twice, depending on what species the mates are. You however may go into heat more though because you have two mates instead of oneâ
âDoes it hurt?â I ask.
âNo Addie, you may have noticed since Eli marked you. You no longer get periods. I said that correct didnât I, thatâs what you call it?â
âYes, that is what it is called or a menstrual cycleâ I tell him, shaking my head. What a strange conversation to have with a man, talking about my periods with them when I barely know them. But it did make me wonder because he is right I havenât had my periods and I should have by now.
âWait, I will never get a period again?â I ask dumbfounded.
âNo you wonât, why do you like bleeding?â He asks.
âDefinitely not, probably be the only thing I hate about being a womanâ Though having s*x with Sam I was always excited getting them because that meant i wasnât up the duff, I thought to myself.
âWait, Iâm human, wouldnât that put me in menopause?â
âMeno what?â
âYou know about periods but donât know about menopause?â I ask, rinsing my mouth of the minty toothpaste.
He looks at me funny, ânevermindâ I tell him.
âI will have to g****e this menopause, I donât usually endeavour to know things about humansâ
âbut you were once human?â
âYes but I barely remember being human, and I never heard the term menopause while humanâ
âProbably because youâre old they probably didnât know what it was back thenâ I tell him and he nods.
âDo our ages bother you?â He asks and I sit up on the sink basin. Eli walks in hopping in the shower.
âNo, I think itâs pretty cool, the things you would have seen would be interesting. I always like historyâ
âYou would be amazed how much of history they got wrong, us for example,â Eli says, stripping his clothes off.
âThey may not think you exist now but where did the stories come from, if they were wrong?â
âYes in a sense, but they always portrayed us as monsters, we arenât humans are the monsters,â Cyrus says.
âYou think I am a monster?â I ask him.
âNo, yes but youâre my monsterâ He says, thinking his brows furrowing.
âEli doesnât like humans, never has,â Eli tells me.
âThen why do you want to be with me?â I ask him.
âYouâre differentâ He states simply.
âNo last time I checked I was definitely humanâ I tell them.
âYes but you arenât like the rest, they are selfish and self absorbed andââ He didnât finish but I could see he was getting angry.
âWhat about my family?â I ask him.
âI like your mother and niece, your sister not so muchâ Cyrus says.
âWhy not her, we are carbon copies being identical?â I ask him. He shakes his head.
âNo, you arenât completely identical, even when she was healthier looking, your eyes are a shade lighter, skin a little paler, your b***s are slightly bigger, your right b**b is bigger than your left to, barely noticeable but I can tell and you smell nicer, intoxicatingâ He says making me look at my b***s, they look the same to me.
âAre you trying to say I have lopsided titties?â I ask, amused that he could notice something like that when I canât tell the difference.

âBut you just said they are uneven,â I tell him.
âDoesnât mean they look bad, my vision is so much stronger than yours. I can even see the dust particles in the air, the colours inside a lightbulb, the heat coming off your skinâ He says.
âWhat about you, can you see all that?â I ask Eli. He nods watching me.
âYes our sense of smell is stronger tooâ He says and I nod. Great, now I am going to be paranoid about how I smell and look. I sniff myself.
âYou donât stink if thatâs what youâre wondering, though I donât like it when you put that perfume on, it smothers your scent and burns my nose,â Eli says.
âI am not walking around with no deodorant on, I may smell nice to you but that doesnât mean I will smell nice when I am sweating to everyone elseâ
âNo deodorant barely changes your scent, I am talking about that s**t you spray on your neck and wristsâ Eli says.
âHey I like that stuffâ I tell him and he shrugs. âWell I donât, it is too strongâ he says and Cyrus nods.
âFine no perfumeâ I tell them. I hop off the bench following Cyrus back into the room.
