Chapter 733
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
âWhat? You really told her that you want to reconcile?â Seraphinaâs expression immediately darkened.
Stefanâs confirmation stung the most. âYes.â
âHowever, itâs in the past,â he said honestly. âIâm not that dumb anymore.â
He then strolled down the steps with no emotion on his face. He didnât even glance her way as he went by.
Renee remained locked in place, her cheeks flushed.
She hadnât expected Stefan to hear her pompous statements earlier â she just wanted to annoy Seraphina. She herself thought it was immature to flaunt the attention she got from a guy in order to feel good about herself.
She realized she had grown into the kind of person she despised.
Seraphina was overjoyed, and she grinned widely. She embraced Stefan as if they were the closest of friends, and stood really close to him. âThat sounds more like it. If you turn into a simp, Iâll be the first to judge you. You are Stefan Hunt, the most wealthy guy in Beach City. Do you realize how important that title is to you?â
Stefan didnât say anything, and his face revealed no feelings.
âAll right, letâs not waste time. Can you tell me why Iâm here?â Seraphina inquired mysteriously.
âI think I can figure it out.â He sat peacefully on the sofa in the living room and responded.
âYouâre really clever! Itâs no surprise youâre my best buddy.â
âWell, whatâs your answer?â Her grip on him became harder. âShould we get married and become husband and wife to explain ourselves to our family?â
Timothy scowled as soon as he heard this. âArenât you a touch impatient, Seraphina? Why do I get the impression that youâre more impatient than I am? Your grandpa just suggested this proposal to you last week, and now you want to discuss it with Stef?â
âGrandpa, marriage should be done on impulse,â Seraphina said. âIf you take everything into account, you will never get married. If Stef and I are destined to marry, it makes no difference when we do it.
The elders wonât have to worry about anything if we get it done sooner.â
Timothy groaned and nodded his head. âYouâre correct, but marriage is a serious thing. You must not do it hastily, or elseâ¦â
âI donât agree with you. You forced Stef to marry Miss Renee back then, and they got married in three days. I waited a week though, but youâre accusing me of rushing into things? Youâre being prejudiced, Grandpa Hunt. Do you dislike me?â
âYour circumstances are different. Ren needed the Hunt familyâs protection at the time. Moreover, she loved Stef, and they were meant to be together. That is why-â Timothy was reminiscing about the first time Renee and Stefan met, but Stefan quickly cut him off.
âYou donât have to bring up the past, Grandfather. That was a failed attempt.â
Renee found it difficult to swallow when she heard this, and it sounded mocking coming from Stefan.
âSo, in my ex-husbandâs opinion, our four years of marriage was a âfailureâ?â Renee moved down the stairs carefully, her attention fixed on Stefan as she said, âIâm interested in your marriage to Seraphina.â
