Chapter 1527
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
âWhy do you say that, Mr. Hunt? The purpose of this meeting is to identify problems. Weâve got many competitors, and the internal conflicts in this company are getting serious. Also, many of our talents have resigned. If we donât come up with something, itâs only a matter of time before the company crashes and burns.â Wesley added fuel to the fire, nearly exposing his idea of dismissing Stefan.
Stefan glared at Wesley coldly and sneered, âSo, Mr. Jennings, what do you think is a good solution to this?â
âWell⦠I canât bring myself to say it!â When Wesley met Stefanâs gaze, timidness got the better of him.
He kept his head low and didnât dare to speak.
Shane then took over and said boldly, âHis idea is simple- he wants you to rest and get better, and weâll appoint someone else as the president of Hunt Enterprise.â
The conference room instantly became silent.
However, Stefan remained calm. He smiled and said, âMr. Jennings, is that what you meant?â
Wesley waved anxiously. âI⦠No, I didnât mean that. I just want whatâs best for the company and your health, Mr. Hunt.â
âThank you for being so thoughtful, Mr. Jennings.â Stefanâs tone was dangerous, and Wesleyâs face paled.
âI think Wesâ idea is good, but no one else can lead Hunt Enterprise except Mr. Hunt. Weâd better not appoint another president and get a worse one!â Another shareholder plucked up the courage to express his thoughts.
âYou donât have to worry about that. Isnât Mr. Jovan Hunt, the former vice president, pretty talented?
Wasnât the business department in North Amentia making great profits, second only to the profits made by the headquarters? Now, itâs actually on par with the headquarters. I think heâs a rare talent,â Shane quickly said.
âDid all of you forget what he did? How can we let such a reckless and cunning man lead Hunt Enterprise?â Jimmy smacked the table and objected indignantly.
âHe did that for the sake of the company because he thought something had happened to Mr. Hunt. I think itâs understandable since he just took the position as leader during a time of crisis,â Shane explained casually, avoiding the main point.
âBut I heard that his health isnât good, and heâs living on medicine. Plus, heâs blind too, and resigned ages ago. Iâm afraid he canât replace Mr. Hunt,â Jimmy scoffed. He always looked down on Jovan.
âThank you for your concern, Mr. Wright, but my eyes are fine now.â Jovanâs voice came from the door as he strode into the conference room in a suit, looking refined.
