Chapter 8

The Grateful Rejection

"MAAAAI!! LOOK AT JACOBI! HE ATE MY BACON!" Arora screeched and yelled at Jacob as he smugly

ate her bacon

"Eat your own food, dipshit!" Ariana snapped at Andrew as he went to take the sausage kept on her

plate. Andrew pouted, "Is this the way to talk to your elder brother, Ari?" Andrew said trying to guilt

trip Ariana, who just rolled her eyes, "Well young sister are also not supposed to kick out her ELDER

brother's fling everyday saying they'll call her back" she said making Drew scrunch his face.

"MAAA!! HE DID IT AGAIN!! I AM GOING TO KICK HIS ASS TO OTHER REALM!" Arora finally

snapped as squirted the bottle of ketchup on her brothers face making his gasp. That's all it took as

a fight began, food flying around along with wooden spoon and empty bow. I sat on the couch

with Stephan eating my cereals watching the scene unfold with amusement.

Mom and gone to the pantry to look for something else a few minutes ago as dad wanted to eat

something different. Dad followed after her as he too wanted to help her.. sureeee. It weirded us

out, but we were toooo freaked out to ask.

Ariana threw a poached egg on Andrew, hitting him in the left eye. The yellow yolk slid down his

cheeks, leaving a trail of sticky smelly yolk and it got stuck in his beard meanwhile Jacob poured

orange juice all over Arora’s hair, knowing fully well how much she HATES when someone tried to

ruin her hair. Arora screamed bloody murderer and punched her brother square in his jaw. Andrew

snarled at Ariana and went to kitchen and came out with a bowl that had pancake batter in it.

Ariana screeched and ran with Andrew hot in her tail. I heard Stephan belly laugh, I turned to look at

him with my mouth full of cereals.

He had his phone out recording everything. I started chewing faster when I heard Ariana yelled on

top of lungs and lunged on Andrew and strated pulling his hair. Andrew grabbed her ankle and

pulled her upside down and as she was tightly gripping his hair, him pulling her only resulted in

more hair being pulled out of his scalp. It was all a mess and I was thoroughly enjoying the show

with wide eye and a creepy smile on my face.

Mom came running from pantry with her hair disheveled and lips swollen followed by dad who

didn't look any better.

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN THIS HOUSE???" Mom yelled making everyone freeze. Mom was

glaring at everyone except for me and Stephan, dad came beside her with a disapproving and..

frustrated? Look on his face. Suddenly my nose twitched, I took in the most horrendous smell,

Mamma-Papa's arousal.

"MOomm!!" I scrunched up my face in disgust, "Seriously?? When we were literally next door??" I

shuddered in revulsion. I was about to leave when mom's voice boomed, "You're going no where

young lady! Stay right there. How do you think we had your siblings??" She snapped at me making

me pout.

She put her hand on her hips, "Line up” she said calmly.

Oh shit!

I heard everyone's heart stop for a second.

"NOW!" She said making us all stand in no order in particular.

"Now who started it?" She asked with a murderous look on her face, making me gulp even though I

didn't do anything.

"Jacob ate my bacon!" Arora said crossing her arms

"She had more bacon than me!" Jacob pointed a finger at Arora.

"Andrew was eating from my plate after he finished his!" Ariana sneered at Drew.

"I was hungry!" Andrew defended himself.

They all said that in the same time then started telling at each other again. I looked at Stephan who

had an annoyed look on his face. Then mom yelled at the four of them and banned them three days

of food from home. Then she looked at the two innocent people in the room, me and Stephan,

"And what did you guys do?" She asked raising a brow.

I scratched the back of my neck, "I ate fruity loops" I said not knowing what to say. I saw her lips

twitch in a smile but she controlled it. "I was watching TV" Stephan said with a shrug, "We had

nothing to do with them" he said and walked up stairs.

In the end, the four of them were punished. Yeah, centuries year old were punished.. by their

mother. They had to do all the household errands for the next week. While me and Stephan were

banned tv for not stopping them. I smirked knowingly, who the fuck watches TV nowadays? It's all

Netflix baby!

Now before you say how are we still living with our parents, here is the thing.. we all stay in our

parents house for a month every year. It's a tradition, no one can say no. And for the rest of 11

months we all stay in different places.

The three of us, Arora, Ariana and me we live in the city. We have our own penthouse that we share,

the three of us didn't want to live away from each other so we got a penthouse. Where as the twins

live just few blocks away from us in another penthouse. Stephan on the other hand.. he moves

around here and there, he never stays in one place.

As the clock stuck 8.30 am, I groaned and went to work. I parked my car at the owners parking lot

and got out. I looked up at the three floor restaurant that took me years to build, a smile made its

way on my face. The building stands tall and proud, the one sided glass full length window makes

the building look classy and elegance. The ground floor was a bakery, the one mom had opened

years ago, Cakery and the rest of the floor was the restaurant.

I became passionate about cooking when Mom used to bring me here, I would always awe the

bakers and the chef in the kitchen. When I turned 19 I asked Mom if I could study culinary. Three

years after getting my bachelor's degree in culinary, I started to work in her bakery as an employee

and also applied for masters in the same year. That's year Dad gifted me Cakery, I was officially the

owner of the bakery.

I was the valedictorian when I graduated my masters, soon after that I began working with

international chefs while also investing money on expanding the bakery. In the end of that year I

decided to make a restaurant above Cakery, called Aurelia's. So there is a Cakery under a multi

cuisine restaurant.

Within a year Aurelia's became so famous that it was mentioned as one of the top restaurant in the

world. Months after working with world renounced chef I left and started working full time in the

Cakery and Aurelia's. I became a food critique just a year ago, it was one of the most prestigious

title I was ever given

I headed for my office while greeting every employee with cold eyes but a kind smile. As soon as I

reached, I hurriedly changed my clothes to my work clothes, i.e a black chef jacked lined with red

and black trousers. Thank God for the uniform is made up of pure cotton or else I would have died

in the kitchen due to heat stroke.

Some of the special treats in the Cakery were only made my me, like gourmet chocolates, cookies,

soufflés and Créme brlée. I prepare them every day and keep it in the fridge and when ever a

customer wants to order either soufflés or Créme bralée, they'll be served with ones just out of the

oven

There are six chefs with six assistant chefs with each of them. They all make different cuisines

ranging from Italian to French to Mughlai and many more. But there is a special menu, those

cuisines are made by me, they are available to customers from 12 pm to 5 pm, after that they won't

get any food made by me.

I start making all the things for the bakery and within two hours I was done with everything, I called

one of the bakers and told him to keep an eye on the cookies. I went inside the kitchen once again

a and washed off all the dirty cutleries I used. It was already 12 by the time I went in the restaurant,

the rush today was considerably moderate seeing that sometimes people have to stand outside the

restaurant in a big line.

I was done from work by 6, I was exhausted by then. I went home slouching accompanied by Arora

who was in the same state. Arora is an accountant in the bakery and restaurant. We came back

home looking like zombies. Mom was sitting on the long couch reading some magazine while Dad

was laying down with his head on mom's lap, watching TV. Mom cooed us both and told us to sit

while she went to get some water for us. I sat down next to dad and put my head on his shoulder. I

took his hands and played with his fingers. I didn't know when but while playing I dozed off in the

warm embrace of my father.
