Part 32
Night Changes (Macolet au)
Maloi and Colet had spent the evening enjoying a quiet, romantic dinner at an upscale but cozy restaurant. They had chosen a place with a private ambiance, where they could talk, laugh, and enjoy each other's presence without the prying eyes of the public. Maloi, as always, was clingyâher hand never leaving Colet's, her head occasionally resting on Colet's shoulder as they talked. Colet, ever the attentive partner, made sure Maloi was comfortable, even subtly feeding her a bite or two of dessert, earning playful giggles from her.
After dinner, they decided to take a short walk under the city lights, hands intertwined, basking in the peaceful night air. Maloi, feeling extra affectionate, leaned into Colet, letting her fingers gently brush against Colet's arm as they strolled toward their car. Colet, in turn, looked down at Maloi with that signature soft gazeâone full of warmth, admiration, and deep love.
Unbeknownst to them, a fan nearby managed to snap a photo. Though the image was blurry, the tenderness between the couple was unmistakable. The way Colet looked at Maloi as if she were the most precious thing in the world, and the way Maloi leaned into Colet, fully trusting and in love, spoke louder than any clear picture ever could.
When the photo made its way online, fans immediately went wild. Some debated whether it was actually Maloi and Colet, while others pointed out the familiar features despite the blur. The biggest discussion, however, was about the way they looked at each other.
"If this isn't love, I don't know what is."
"That gaze?? She is down bad for Maloi."
"Whoever they are, I just know they're in love."
Maloi saw the post later that night while scrolling on her phone. She showed it to Colet with a teasing grin.
"They're saying you're down bad for me."
Colet smirked, pulling Maloi onto her lap. "That's not wrong, though."
Maloi blushed but didn't argue. Because if anyone was down badâit was both of them.
----------------------------
After seeing the fan post of their blurry photo and laughing about the comments, Maloi and Colet found themselves in a quieter, more intimate moment. They were in their penthouse, curled up together on the bed, with the city lights illuminating the room through the large windows.
Maloi traced slow, absentminded patterns on Colet's arm, her head resting against Colet's shoulder. She let out a soft sigh, feeling warm and content.
"Colet?" Maloi murmured.
"Hmm?" Colet hummed, tightening her arms around Maloi.
"Have you ever thought about... us?" Maloi asked hesitantly, tilting her head up to meet Colet's gaze.
Colet shifted slightly, adjusting so she could look Maloi in the eyes. She took a moment before answering, her fingers gently tucking a stray strand of hair behind Maloi's ear. "I think about us all the time, baby."
Maloi felt her heart skip a beat, her cheeks heating up. "I mean... our future. Where we're headed."
Colet's lips curled into a soft smile. She lifted Maloi's hand and pressed a kiss to her fingers before speaking. "I can see a future with you, Maloi." Her voice was steady, filled with certainty. "I want that. You, us... a life together."
Maloi's eyes widened slightly before a bright smile spread across her face. "You really mean that?" she whispered.
"I do," Colet said, resting her forehead against Maloi's. "And I don't just mean in the distant future. I mean... I already feel like we're building something real. Something lasting."
Maloi felt a wave of emotions wash over her. She had never doubted Colet's love, but hearing her say it out loud, so sincerely, made her heart swell. She cupped Colet's face, brushing her thumb along her cheek.
"I see a future with you too, Colet," Maloi admitted, her voice soft but full of conviction.
Colet's heart pounded at the confession. She pulled Maloi even closer, their noses brushing. "Then let's keep building it together."
Maloi nodded, pressing a lingering kiss to Colet's lips. At that moment, nothing else matteredâjust them, their love, and the future they would create together.
