Chapter 23

Greyson’s POV

Vincent spent most of the night howling, I kept trying to mind link him, but only got growls in return. He has been like a brother to me, his older brother, Sam was my best friend and killed the night I nearly died. Sam died protecting me and Vincent ultimately stepped up in Sam’s place. My beta mind links me keeping me abreast of Vincent’s moves. I can’t lay here anymore. I get up in the predawn morning and see that my mate is already up. I mind link her, but I hit a wall, damn, she must be in the dungeons again interrogating the wolves who want to take me out. I run my hands through my head. I don’t know how to resolve this issue with my child’s mother and her mate. She didn’t freak out as badly as I thought she would.

I make my way through the house, pulling a shirt over my head, I go to the guest room downstairs to check on Mikaela and see Vincent’s wolf pacing back and forth, I walk up and sit down in front of him, his wolf wimpers at me knowing I am alpha he won’t challenge me. He comes over to me and plops down on the floor in front of me, and that is when I smell Autumn, she is coming around the corner and sits beside me on the floor crossing her legs within each other, she has a cup of coffee and begins to stroke Vincent’s wolf, running her hands through his fur, calming his emotions. ‘I know you didn’t know, but it still hurts that she is carrying your pup’ Vincent mind links me. “I know” I say out loud. “If I could go back in time... I am so sorry, I not only hurt you, but look what I did to Autumn” he lays his head down on Autumn’s lap, and my wolf doesn’t like it, we tolerate it because of the circumstances, as Luna she comforts the pack when they need it. Vincent is in pain, he isn’t trying to make a move on my mate. I reach for him and he allows me to touch him.

He stays outside her door in his wolf form whimpering as Autumn and I get up, she pulls me back to our room and says “I have talked to him and he isn’t going to reject her, but she says she needs time to let all this information to sink in, that all of this is quite a shock.” I nod in understanding. She comes to me and tries to comfort me, I sit on the side of the bed and hang my head in shame. “Hey, don’t beat yourself up too much” but I give her a sarcastic laugh, “Autumn, I made a huge mess here, it just got more complicated with her being his mate” she sighs and says “look, I know that it looks bleak right now, but I have a feeling that it all will work out, I mean look at the facts here, Mikaela didn’t run away screaming when she learned about us being wolves and then when she found out about Vincent being her mate, you would think that alone would push over the edge, but she sleeps just downstairs with a wolf outside her door and she is accepting that. Vincent hasn’t challenged you, he won’t reject Mikaela, they are going to be just fine, and I know I haven’t been exactly excited about you becoming a dad, but it’s new life, Greyson, it doesn’t matter whose DNA it carries, it’s a new life.” My mate is an angel, “I know I have been distant from you since this happened, denying you, but I was hurt and punishing you, it was childish and I apologize for that... Greyson, I didn’t mean to make you feel alone in this, I want you to know that I will stand by you through all of this and will make sure that you know everyday that you have my love, my trust, and my forgiveness, so forgive yourself.”

I pull her into my arms and kiss her on her forehead, “so no more withholding sex from me?” I ask and she laughs and says “no more withholding sex” I sigh “that is music to my ears, come on my beautiful mate, I have some making up to do.” She giggles as I turn her around and pin her down on the bed and hover over her as she says “ooh, makeup sex, bring it on” I kiss her passionately. We don’t waste anytime in taking each other’s clothes off, I strip her down and rip her panties as I bury my head into her sex, bringing her pleasure as she moans and fists the sheets underneath her, she tries to withhold her screams as she reaches her climax, but I don’t let up and waste no time to bury myself into her as she rides out her orgasm. Oh she is so tight. “Fuck, Kitten, I have missed this” I moan out to her. I pump into her hard and fast, thrusting harder than ever as she pants and bites her lip, I am kneeled up holding her legs over my shoulders and I kiss the inside of her ankles and watch her breasts bounce with each thrust I make, “damn, baby, you are so beautiful” she smiles up at me and runs her hands down my chest then grips my arms as I slam harder and harder into her, stretching her to fit my length and girth. I will never get enough of her, these past couple of weeks have been hell on me and my wolf. She tightens up as she gets close to her release and she softly whispers my name as explodes onto me and I still inside her as my seed mixes with her fluids. My head spins as we fall from our high together. I collapse on top of her and she giggles and says “Grey, you have to be careful, you can’t just collapse on me like that.” I pull away from her with my brow furrowed, “what are you talking about?” She giggles and says “well I was going to tell you, but given the circumstances, I wanted to be sure, but Mikaela isn’t the only one that will be having a pup.” Realization dawns on me, “you’re pregnant?” She nods and smiles “it’s a boy, so he will be born before your daughter.” Shock takes over as her words sink in. I am going to be a father twice.
