Chapter 12

Greyson’s POV

I watched in complete awe as Autumn is swept up in a glow of light, it is breath taking, I hear chatter in my mind, all the ones present are also mesmerized by the sight. I have never seen anything like it before, I mean the moon goddess speaks to alphas when we come into power, but we don’t have anything like this, my mom mind links me, ‘she’s special, she must be in the moon goddess’s favor.’ I ask her ‘why do you say that?’ She explains that although when she became Luna she saw the moon goddess she wasn’t lifted off the ground and that glow didn’t happen, she has a glow, but it’s a small glow, nothing like Autumn’s. It is then that my mind link breaks off from my mother as I hear the moon goddess speak.

“Autumn your Luna gifts is beyond any other Luna gift I have ever bestowed, your innocence and faith have brought you into my favor, your light will frighten your enemies, your wolf is as powerful as your alpha, and your speed faster. You have the fight of both your warrior parents, but your Luna gift extends all of this. You dear Autumn, mother of all Lunas will have the ability to know your enemies minds, you will be able to subdue them with your light, they will look upon you as they would look upon me, your friends and family will see you as blessed and every pack will know you and you will be honored and admired, you will bring forth a son that will unite the packs in peace and he will be a great leader, you will be blessed with many children and they each will have their own talents and will have a lifetime of happiness. You are blessed Luna, this is my gift to you”

My mother mind links me after Autumn is slowly falling to the ground, it’s as if she is a feather, I am overwhelmed by this. “Go to her, son, go to Autumn” I make my way over to her and she still has a glow about her. “She will be asleep for a while, you must take her to bed and stay with her until she gets her strength back” I know that when you are in the presence of the moon goddess that it uses every bit of your energy. My mom told me that when she was able to speak to the moon goddess that slept for two days. Autumn might be out longer. It was rare for males to connect with the moon goddess, it is kind of strange to think about, the men are made to be the leaders of the packs, but it was only the females who had that connection. When a male did connect it was with the help of his Luna. The Luna almost served as an intercessor, usually on the full moon.

I hear the gasps and whispers of my pack, I knew that there were questions about Autumn being my real mate, well those questions were put to bed tonight. I went and changed into jeans after shifting and made my way back over to my Luna, my wife, my mate. I lifted her up and carried her inside to our bedroom. I carefully removed her clothing and placed a night gown on her, I tucked her in and stripped out of my clothes and snuggled up next to her. I mind linked my pack about being courteous to our guests who were visiting for tonight. I know that the party is just getting started, but my place is here next to my mate, I have to protect her.

Autumn stirred during the night and I was surprised when I woke up and she wasn’t in bed. “Kitten? Where are you?” I hear the toilet flush in our bathroom and the water come on, after a minute, she comes back out and says “I am here, love, go back to sleep” I look at her and say “you’re awake, how?” She shrugged and said she can’t go back to sleep that she feels restless and wants to go for a run. What is this? I thought her energy would be depleted, but she says she feels like she has had two carafes of coffee. I yawn and she says “sleep, love, I will be back soon, I am just going for a run with the patrol.” I sigh and after a moment I tell her “wait, if you come back to bed and give me another hour I will go with you” she shakes her head “no, love, my wolf is anxious to get out, I need to obey the beast” I smirk at her “I have a beast aching for your obedience, he is excited about your submission” she laughs and says “when I get back, I promise, I love you” she leans down and kisses me. I then add on “with patrol, not alone Kitten, even if you are strong, you could be outnumbered, please be careful” she smiles at me and says “of course, say you love me” I smile and say “you love me” she playfully smacks my arm, I pull her to me, “I love you so much, Autumn, never enough words to express it, so hurry back so I can show you.” I say in a growl and then playfully smack her backside. She giggles and leaves out of our bedroom but whispers to me “sleep, it will make time pass faster” I glance at the time and see that it is only 3:15 am. I throw my head back to the pillow and try to remember who is running patrol tonight. I then mind link my head of security and ask him to inform all of those on patrol to look for Autumn, that she wants to run patrol with them. He complies and I allow myself to fall asleep, it feels like I just shut my eyes when I am mind linked by my patrol “ALPHA, WE HAVE A SITUATION!” I rise immediately and see that it is now after 4am. “Report” I order “rogues attacked at least a dozen” I try not to panic “The Luna?” There is a pause “I don’t know, sir.”
