Chapter 8

6.

Her Stain

In the chilling cold of night, I walked towards the exit of the Palace whilst talking to Bhai, "Yes, Bhai your friend is here, now come pick me up. I am hungry!" I whined.

Bhai chuckled from the other line of the phone, "Just wait by the gate, I'll be there soon, Chhoti." I disconnected the call, taking in my surroundings as suddenly my feet halted.

Where. In. Jodhpur. Was I?!

I looked around, seeing nothing, there wasn't any lighting in this area. Only a hallway leading to a dark garden ahead, my eyes widened in panic. Did I get lost, walking? I looked behind to see 3 different hallways, and I tried to remember where I came from. I murmured, "Maybe it was from this way?"

I moved ahead.

My anklets jingling, as I walked in the silent hallway trying to reach the faint sound of music when my leg Suddenly slipped, making me lurch forward.

A gasp left my lips, my eyes suddenly closing on its own accord as I mentally accepted the oncoming smack, when suddenly It felt as if the world halted.

My breath leaving my lungs as arms wrapped around my waist, firm and strong. All of a sudden, feeling warmth against my skin making me open my eyes. And when I did open my eyes, oh god.

My eyes widened, my heartbeat all of a sudden rising as I stared at the unknown man. An unknown warmth filling me up, as I gazed into his dark eyes. His breath fanned my face, his eyes almost hypnotic.

Dark hair, slicked back in a way that seemed way too proper on a face perfect enough to wage wars, it was as if I had forgotten to breath. The said man was handsome, utterly, perfectly and annoyingly handsome.

The change in song in the background made me snap out of whatever trance I was, I pushed him away, balancing myself.

I quickly looked away, a blush covering my cheeks wanting to drown myself in my embarassment. You stupid woman, can't you control your eyes?! My conscience screamed at me, if possible making me feel Suddenly even more warmth.

I shot back at it, 'You could have stopped it as well!'

How is it my fault you refused to move?!

'how is it my fault if you forgot to make me aware you dumb bi--'

My thoughts were cut off with a throat clearing and I looked at boy again, forgetting to breath for a second time. His eyes stared at me, "Are you okay?" He quietly asked.

Warmth rushed in my cheeks, I nodded. "I..., yeah, I am fine." I added, "Thanks for...," I motioned towards the floor embarrassed to speak. He shook his head, "It's okay."

I shifted at his intense gaze, I spoke up, "I am Siya. Siya Sharma." He nodded, still staring at me as spoke up, "Yuvraaj."

I smiled at him brightly, "Well, it was really nice meeting you Yuvraaj. I will get going, I guess." Suddenly he frowned, as if disliking my statement as he asked, "What were you doing here?".

At his question, I scratched my neck awkwardly, "I actually...," My cheeks getting warmer I finished, "Got lost." My statement made his eyebrows raise up, and he nodded again as if thinking again. I looked away to stop myself from staring at him like a creep.

Still it was as if my eyes had a mind of their own, getting stuck on him as I observed his face. A light stubble gracing his face, that highlighted his sharp jawline. I mentally scolded myself, 'Shut up, Siya. He looks almost 30, get a grip!'

"Siya?" I suddenly flinched at his voice, looking at him startled. He raised an eyebrow, amusement shining in his eyes. "Are you alright?"

Embarrassed, I nodded, "I am."

He raised an eyebrow, "Where were you headed towards?" I meekly spoke up, "Towards the main exit." Yuvraaj sighed, "That's the other way."

And somehow, though I am grateful, Yuvraaj took it upon himself to drop me off towards the main exit. As we started walking, I asked, "What were you doing here?"

Yuvraaj looked at me in amusement, "I live here." His reply was short, and I nodded in understanding. He's a worker.

"Why were you here? I haven't seen you around before?" I nodded my head, rolling my eyes. "I am here because of some jerk."

Yuvraaj frowned, "Why, is it someone troubling you?"  His eyes narrowed, and for a split he looked scary and I quickly shook my head, "No, No. My brother's are the King's people, no body would dare to trouble me." Something in my statement seemed to have satisfied him greatly, before he frowned. "Why else would you have trouble?"

I rolled my eyes as I continued walking beside him, "Rana Sa, the stupid king." He stiffened at my words, as he looked back at me as if offended, as he spoke up with gritted teeth, "Are you aware what your statement means?"

I looked at him wierdly, "Ofcourse, I do. Why are you so angry?" He was about to say something but suddenly a glint of mischief shone in his eyes, and I edged away feeling creeped. Was this man bi polar?

"Why is he stupid?" He asked suddenly, getting so close my eyes widened and I took a step back. I muttered, "Because he fired all the event managers just four hours before event and still expected a perfect event."

We finally continued walking as I started my list of complaints. "I just came back from my exams and was so tired I wanted to do nothing more than sleep, buttttt!" I exclaimed, "The stupid man just had to fire all those event managers!"

Yuvraaj looked at me amused, "You are complaining to somebody in a palace about the King, Siya?" I nodded, "I am sure you might relate to me on this, since you might probably see this tryanny on a daily basis, ofcourse I will."

A deep laughter left his lips at my words, and I wierdly felt my cheeks heating up hearing him laugh, I blabbered more, "I had to then come here for damage control, whilst Papa and Bhai found the proper event manager."

He shook his head, "Well, we can't exactly say it's his fault, who would want to raise Idlers?" Yuvraaj objected making me snort, "Then he should have done the decorations on his own!"

"Couldn't he hold his horses?" I seethed, "My vacation got RUINED because of that idiot."

"Siya, maybe he had his own reasons. A King's decision shouldn't be scorned like that." Something in his voice sent a shiver down my back, as I stared at his stern face. His eyes looking down a little dangerously, I stuttered. "He c-could have waited until the event was over, at the very least. My papa, Bhai and me all were very troubled because of his decision."

He just stared at me, with something amusing in his eyes. He stared at me with an interest that even I didn't have in myself. He muttered something unintelligible, that I couldn't hear.

Yuvraaj stared at the young girl infront of him, amusement shining in his eyes as he heard her ranting about how much of an idiot he was.

It was funny as she complained on and on, never stopping as she declared him as a stupid bossy man who ruined her vacation. The little flushing of her cheeks whenever she caught his staring and how her speaking just sped up as soon as she felt embarrassed or nervous it all was all too entertaining for him. "Do you really not know me, or is it an action to gain attention?" He muttered, staring at her.

How could somebody in Rajasthan, that entered this palace not know who Yuvraaj Singh Chauhan was?

He couldn't believe it, but her clueless expression seemed way too innocent for her to be one of the gold diggers that tried to get his attention. If she was acting, she was a damn good actor, because she definitely did grab his attention. The way her eyes widened and she was quick to put distance between them when he stepped closer.

She couldn't have really known, else she wouldn't have dared to call him with such bad names. Could some really be as unaware?

It attracted him, seeing her so unconscious of her company.

"Hellooooo? Earth to, Sir?" Yuvraaj snapped out of his thoughts seeing Siya waving her hand crazily. She dramatically yelled in his face, when he looked at her humming. "Hmm?"

Siya scrunched up her nose, "I asked if you said something?" Yuvraaj looked down, before he spoke up calmly. "I said we are here."

Siya looked at him confused, "huh?" Yuvraaj smiled in amusement, really clueless.

"The exit gate. We are here." Siya looked around realising, and smiled brightly seeing the door. "Oh, we are here! I didn't even notice!" She exclaimed looking at Yuvraaj, making him nod staring at her. She had a beautiful smile.

Something about her made him want her. Something that was startling to him. Another familiar voice rang between both of them, "Siya, here!"

Yuvraaj looked up and saw Indar Sharma jogging upto him, seeing Siya with a smile. Siya grinned at her brother, and something clenched in his chest at the sight. His hands clenched at the feeling, his eyes never really leaving her face as he savoured every moment of the bright grin that was etched on her face. What the fuck is wrong with you, Yuvraaj Singh Chauhan?

Indar's eyes slid to him, and he came to a halt. His eyes widening, he bowed respectfully. Siya stared at her brother, confused. Why was he bowing to a palace worker? Is he so respectful towards strangers?

Indar looked up, speaking, "A very good evening to Hukum Sa." And Siya's face paled. Her eyes widening in horror, as she registered the words her brother uttered eyes shooting towards the man to whom she had complained earful about the King.

When her eyes met Yuvraaj's in horror, he had the nerve to smirk.

Bewakuf, Beigarat, Badzaat! Jhootha!
