Chapter 73
Wife
Chapter 73
Seeing Theodore, Rosalie suddenly felt a sense of unfamiliarity. But seeing that he was fine, she felt relieved.
She didnât want to be hurt again, so she coldly asked, âWhy are you. here?â
Seeing Rosalieâs reaction, Theodore frowned. âDidnât you just get discharged? I came to see you.â
âThank you,â she replied politely.
Theodoreâs irritated gaze fell on Sebastian. That man seemed to be sticking around like a persistent leech.
âYou seem to enjoy making friends with other peopleâs wives, Mr. Carter,â Theodore remarked casually,
âIf Iâm not mistaken, Rosalie told me that you two have already signed. divorce papers, Mr. Spencer,â Sebastian retorted.
Upon hearing Sebastian call Rosalie by her name, Theodoreâs eyes. flashed with anger. âWhat did you call her?â
âI agreed to let him call me that.â Rosalie stepped forward, pulling Sebastian behind her. âWeâre friends, and Iâm not Mrs. Spencer anymore. Isnât it normal for him to call me by my name?â
Her words implied that Theodore had no right to be angry.
Theodore found the roses Sebastian brought annoying. They were like an eyesore, as if just looking at them could stain his eyes blood- red. He took the roses from Rosalieâs arms and handed her the lilies
he had brought instead.
âThese are your favorite lilies,â he said, tossing the roses onto a

Rosalie was a bit angry. Placing the lilies next to the roses, she deliberately arranged the roses nicely, then turned to Sebastian and gave him an apologetic look. Sebastian nodded and smiled, which made Rosalie feel relieved. It was good to have someone sensible.
around.
âMr. Spencer, if youâve come to see me, youâre done, right? Iâm being discharged now. Is there anything else you need?â Rosalie asked.
Theodore furrowed his brows at what she had chosen to call him.
âSorry, I forgot to tell you something.â Theodore said calmly.
âWhat is it?â Rosalie asked, still frowning.
âMy dad tore up the divorce papers. Now, heâs watching us and not allowing us to get a divorce.â
As he spoke, there was hardly any anger on Theodoreâs face. He even seemed somewhat pleased.
On the other hand, Rosalie was angry. She already knew that Wesley had ripped up the divorce papers, having heard Theodore say so in the video Stephanie recorded. But when she was watching it, she had been focused on Cynthia being with Theodore and had only felt sadness. Now, her anger was belatedly coming to the surface.
âYouâre the one who brought up getting a divorce in the first place, but then you claimed there were mistakes in the documents. Then, you dragged it out even more by claiming some procedures needed to be done. Now, youâre telling me that your dad tore up the papers. Are you doing this on purpose?â Rosalie questioned.
âMe? Doing it on purpose?â Theodore sneered. âI was the one who. suggested the divorce. I wouldnât deliberately delay it. My dad was the one who tore up the documents. If you donât believe me, go ask him. I

have no reason to lie to you. Anyway, weâre still married now. So, you better stay away from other men.
Grandma hears about it, she wonât be happy.â
âWhat about you and Cynthia? Arenât you afraid Grandma will be unhappy if she hears about you and her? How long are you going to maintain your double standards?â
Rosalie was fed up with Theodoreâs double standards. He could be loveyâdovey with Cynthia, but if Rosalie even talked to another guy, he saw it as her cheating on him.
As Theodore clenched his fists, his knuckles made an audible. cracking sound.
Realizing that things were getting out of hand, Stephanie quickly stepped in, saying, âRose just got discharged. Can we please not argue?â
âLetâs go home,â said Theodore, suppressing his anger as he didnât want to argue with his wife on the day she was being discharged.
Rosalie also wanted to end this war sooner rather than later.
She turned to Sebastian and said, âMr. Carter, Iâm going home now. Iâll treat you to dinner in a couple of days. Thank you for the flowers. Iâll make sure to put them in a vase when I get home.â
