Chapter 48
Wife
Chapter
Theodore smiled gently, not getting angry. âGot it, Grandma, I will.â
He reached out and took Rosalieâs hand, making her feel a pang of bitterness. He was playing his part so well, but in his heart he was thinking about another woman.
Everything they were doing at tonightâs dinner was fake. Once they got back home, they would return to their broken relationship. It was sad just to think about it.
Even though her heart ached, Rosalie had to maintain a smile on her face. She played along with Theodore, gazing at him lovingly. When Theodore, who had momentarily been spacing out, turned back and met Rosalieâs gaze, he saw how her eyes seemed full of love for him.
She was really playing her part so convincingly. If he didnât know better, he would think she really loved him. But in reality, she only saw him as a brother.
No, perhaps not even that.
She had told him herself that she had put him with him for long enough. Since she personally said it, it had to be true, right? Thinking about her previous words, Theodoreâs heart throbbed uncomfortably, but he didnât know why.
His grip on her hand tightened unconsciously. Feeling the increased pressure, Rosalie frowned and lightly kicked Theodoreâs leg under the table, causing him to quickly release her hand.
Sydney, who hadnât spoken much, said to Rosalie, âI heard youâve graduated. Have you decided where to work? Or are you planning something else?â

Rose planning to take the entrance examination for a postgraduate degree,â Theodore answered for her.
âIs that so?â Rebecca looked puzzled. âRose, when we were talking about work in the living room, why didnât you mention that youâre planning to take the entrance exam? You said you were looking for a job on your own.â
Rosalie smiled. âIâm still thinking about things and havenât made a final decision yet. Weâll talk about it later.â
Telling Theodore that she was taking the entrance exam was just a temporary measure. She hadnât decided whether she really wanted to
do it.
Theodore furrowed his brows, a hint of displeasure flashing in his eyes, as if feeling deceived by her again.
Was she really planning to take the exam, or was she just avoiding working at SK Enterprise with him? Was she intentionally misleading him? How much of what this woman said was true? It seemed like he really didnât understand her at all.
âYou should make a decision soon,â Sydney advised. âBeing indecisive isnât good. Time waits for no one.â
âGot it, Mom,â Rosalie replied with a nod, thinking to herself that Sydney didnât seem to like indecisive people very much.
With everything going on between her and Theodore right now, especially the divorce, Rosalie was feeling troubled. She wasnât in the mood to think about decisions like what to do after graduating. After all, everyone has their highs and lows, and itâs impossible to always handle everything perfectly.
âRose will figure things out. There is no need to rush, lest she makes the wrong choice,â said Wesley, seeming to have a different opinion

Rosalie couldnât help but wonder. Would she and Theodore be in similar situation in the future?
She scoffed at her own thoughts. Did she even need to wonder about the future? It was already happening now.
