Chapter 406
Wife
For as long as he could remember, she had never said that she didnât love him. Neither did she say that she loved him.
This was in fact a mystery to him. It was his own guess that Rosalie didnât love him and wasnât happy.
Rosalieâs heart ached. She looked up at him and stared at him silently, her gaze sorrowful. Then, with a slight smirk, she asked, âDonât you find yourself hilarious for asking me that question now? What exactly do you want?â
âI want to know what you feel about me. I want the truth.â
Theodore rested his palms on both sides of her face, circling her in his arms as he drew her. He was much taller than she was, and had to bend his neck down low to be near her.
âSo, tell me now. What exactly do you feel about me? I want the truth.â
Theodore didnât understand Rosalie, and she didnât understand him either.
They didnât understand each other. There seemed to be a barrier that urgently needed to be broken, but there was a fear in doing so. Keeping things like this would only result in more and more misunderstandings.
âYou want the truth, is that it?â Rosalie asked. âWould telling you the truth change anything?â
âIf you donât tell the truth, who would know how things would end? Rose, youâre hiding way too many things from me. Right now, I want you to tell me everything, be it what you truly feel about me or anything other secrets youâre keeping from me.â
Theodore felt like a fool, being the last to find out about things regarding Rosalie. Even Sebastian, an outsider to them, knew about it earlier than he did.
Rosalie looked down helplessly.
This man was still holding himself back despite wanting to know what she felt.
He didnât dare to give her any promises, but demanded to know what she felt about him after they got divorced. He was simply laughable.
âI can tell you everything, but on one condition.â
âWhat is it?â Theodore asked.
âDonât be so eager. You definitely wonât be able to do it.â
There were some things which she felt confident of predicting the results of.
âHow would you know if you donât say it out loud? I can give you whatever you want,â Theodore said confidently.
He had everything in the world, and even if he didnât, he would get it for her, as long as she told the truth.
âReally?â Rosalie almost believed Theodore, given his unequivocal promise. However, her rationality held her back from falling for his words. âOf course. Tell me, whatâs the condition?â
Rosalie looked up at him, and said calmly, âThe condition is that you split up with Cynthia and cut off all ties with her, and never see her ever again.â
Theodore was stunned as shock registered in his eyes. He thought he must have heard her wrongly. âWhat did you say?â
âIâve said it very clearly, you heard it for sure.â Rosalie refused to repeat herself She could tell from the
shock in Theodoreâs eyes that he couldnât even handle hearing the
question itself. Content belongs to
