Chapter 357
Wife
After hearing Rosalie out, Sydney fell silent.
Her first thought was that Theodore was in trouble.
As it turned out, Rosalie stayed up the entire night reading through the documents to identify the problem with Regent Co. not for his sake at all. Quite the opposite-she did it for Sebastian.
Sydney suddenly laughed, the sound laced with helplessness and irony.
Theodore wasnât the only one who misunderstood the situation. She did, too. She really thought that Rosalie did it for her son, but she never expectedâ¦
Rosalie clearly had her priorities in place, more so than Sydney did in her younger days. The girl might look weak and vulnerable, but she had a clear mind and knew exactly what she needed to do.
Meanwhile, Rosalie didnât understand why Sydney was laughing. âMom? Whatâs the matter?â
âNothing,â Sydney said, looking at Rosalie. âSo Geoffrey Carter threatened you with his son, and you accepted it because you care about his son very soon?â
âSebâs a good friend of mine,â Rosalie explained. âI canât sit idly by and watch that happen to him, so Iâll help wherever I can. But itâs fine if youâre not willing to do it. Iâll think of another way.â
âNo need for that,â Sydney said. âTell him that Iâll meet him.â
Joy filled Rosalieâs heart. âReally? Mom, youâre okay with seeing him?â
Sydney nodded. âGo ahead and tell him that.â
âBut Mom,â Rosalie said, as the smile faded from her face, âI donât want to force you to do this. If youâre very resistant to the idea, you donât need to meet him.â
âThereâs nothing to be resistant to,â Sydney said calmly. âThereâs no harm in getting to know a big shot, anyway.â
âWhy did you reject me in the first place?â
Rosalie didnât understand. Sydney had rejected her so firmly at the start, and she even sounded disgusted with the idea. Why did she suddenly change her mind and agree to it so readily?
At times, Sydneyâs mood swings confused Rosalie.
âI didnât think so much about it, but now that Iâve given it a second thought, I think itâs beneficial and
helpful to me, so Iâve changed my mind.â Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org
Since Sydney put it that way, Rosalie decided there was no point pursuing the matter further. She nodded and said âAlright, then. Iâll tell him about it Thank you, Mom.â Content

âYou donât need to thank me. To be honest, what youâve done made me see you in a different light.â
âWhat do you mean by that, Mom?â Rosalie asked, confused.
âYou worked so hard for Sebastian. I thought it was for Theo at first.â
Rosalie smiled helplessly. âIt had nothing to do with him, Mom.â
âIf something like this happened to Theo one day, would you do the same for him too?â Sydney asked.
After a momentâs silence, Rosalie
said, âThere are many people willing to do that for him. I wonât make any difference. He never needed me, and Iâve now come to realize that. I never flatter myself into thinking otherwise.â Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org
She said it very calmly, but her voice carried firm resolution. It left no room for negotiation.Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
Sydney sighed. âAlright, then. I understand. Go back home, and Iâll call you once Iâve cleaned things up around here.â
Rosalie nodded. âOkay, call me if thereâs anything. I can come anytime.â
Since Sydney didnât want her around, she wouldnât stay on and bother her.
Sydney waved her away and leaned against the head of the bed, feeling all spent.
After leaving Sydneyâs place, Rosalie called Wesley.
He immediately asked, âHow is Sydney? Did you see her?â
