Chapter 355
Wife
Chapter 355
Wesley asked solemnly, âWhy did you suddenly ask me where she is? Are you unable to find her? What happened to her?â
Rosalie had never texted Wesley about Sydney. This was her first time, and it was clearly an unusual occurrence.
Wesley knew that something was wrong.
Fearing she might worry him, Rosalie immediately said, âNo, Iâm just asking casually. I donât mean anything else.â
âThen why are you asking me? Why donât you just call her directly?â
âI tried that, but she didnât answer my call.â
âIs that so?â
Wesley immediately hung up without a word. Rosalie was puzzled. After two minutes, he called her back.
She answered the call. âHey, Dad.â
âWhere are you right now?â Wesley asked.
âIâm in my apartment. Whatâs going on?â
âI called your mom but she didnât answer me, either. I called her office, and her assistant said sheâs not in the office today.â
âWhatâs going on?â Rosalie was worried. âWhere could Mom have gone?â
âHow would I know?â Wesley said anxiously. âGo to her place and check things out. Werenât you there a few days back?â
âOkay, Iâll head there right away. Dad, are you coming too?â Rosalie asked.
âIâm at Baslery right now. I canât call her place. Go and check if your mom is at home, then call me immediately.â
âIâll make my way there right now.â
Rosalie hung up, packed her things, and drove to Sydneyâs place. When she arrived at Sydneyâs house, she kept pressing the doorbell, but no one came to the door.
Rosalie called Sydneyâs phone, but Sydney still didnât pick up her calls. Just as she was about to give Theodore a call and ask his help to find his mother, the door suddenly opened.
Rosalie was faced with a dark look on Sydneyâs face. Seeing the latter in her horne, she sighed in relief. âMom! So youâre home.â
Sydney saw that Rosalieâs hair in a mess and that she was still in her sleepwear, all frumpy and crumpled.
Sydney herself looked haggard; she even reeked of alcohol.
âMom, why didnât you take my calls? Did something happen?â Rosalie asked.
âWhat do you want? Get straight to the point,â Sydney said hoarsely. She sounded irritated.
âI was very worried when you didnât answer my calls, so I came over to check things out,â Rosalie explained.
âOh, is that so? Now that youâve seen me, you can leave. Sydney made a move to shut the door.
âWait!â Rosalie stopped the door from shutting. âMom, whatâs going on?â
Sydney released the door handle and turned to walk into the house, ignoring Rosalie.
Rosalie immediately followed Sydney. She shut the door, and said, âMom, please talk to me. Iâm very worried about you.â
Rosalle was very worried indeed. She followed Sydney into her room and saw how messy it was, with empty wine bottles everywhere.
Sydney sat on the bed, then grabbed a wine glass on the bedside table. It was half-filled with red wine, which she tipped over and gulped down.
âYouâre so annoying. I told you Iâm fine,â Sydney said irritably, feeling like another person altogether.
She spoke so fiercely, it made Rosalieâs heart leap. Rosalie looked down, and twisted her fingers anxiously.
Just then, a phone rang. Sydney felt for her phone on the bed, and saw the name of the incoming caller.
It was Wesley.
